I tried but I just couldn't do it!

I convinced myself that I could take a trip to Orlando with DH, DS16 and DS8 and not do Disney. It could be done. People do it all the time. I'm not obsessed. I have already booked 7 nights at HRH at US. Booked the Queen Deluxe..more money but staying the week. I even won 2 free 7day passes during the Superbowl. I fiqured with the money we saved we could go to Seaworld and then next summer we would just do Disney.

But then it started.
US/IOA closes at 6pm each night.
2 Adult/1 Child -5 day hoppers from 2003- sitting in a drawer
My DM and DF call me from EPCOT today to ask for my email so they can send a video clip from Spaceship Earth
Chance of free dining
$630 Disney dollars saved.

So I mentioned to DH How about 5 nights Disney and 4 nights HRH?...He didn't protest(mind you he is not feeling well).

Now all I need is the FREE Dining Gods to come together!

I do the exact same thing! I want to make a trip just for Universal and Sea World but I'm afraid if i did the only thing I would be thinking about would be Disney and how close we were to it!
I completely understand and it is an obsession!

For our first two trips to Orlando, we did four days at Disney, a day at Universal Studios and a day at Sea World. The next eleven trips, we stuck to Disney. We always say....maybe we'll go to one of the other theme parks but we never do. I just can't imagine a trip to anywhere in Florida without a stop at Disney.

Same here! We can't go to FL at all without stopping at WDW. In 2008 we were going on a family reunion cruise out of Miami and decided we could just fly to Orlando, stop at WDW for a day and then go to Miami. We did. stayed at POR for two nights, went to MK one day and left. SO worth it!! Of course, then we went back again in Jan 2009 and are going again in Nov/Dec 2009!! Funny, when we say we're going on vacation, no one asks us where!

Try explaining to your friends that you do not have any spare time to visit with them (unless they want to come to WDW) because you do not want to go off property. We keep telling ourselves that we need to set aside a day but it rarely happens, just to much fun doing disney.

We're the same way! Our son attends college in Orlando and his graduation is in June. Our Disney AP's expired last year, but our Universal ones were for 2 years, so we planned to go to Universal one day...UNTIL we realized that it's Star Wars Weekends at DHS, so now we're going there!

Last year we left out IOA but visit Disney and Sea World. I so missed IOA but got over it quickly. I understand the mouse is not to be missed. Hope the dinning plan work out in your favor. I would love to stay on Universal property but could never find a good deal. Do you really have to pay for parking each day?
