DAY 2, SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 7TH, PART 2
Promptly at 8:30am my guide, Rachel, came out to great us and we were off on the tour. I don't want to spoil the whole tour for people, so I won't tell the secrets you learn along the way, but I will say the tour was great and even knowing as much as I do about WDW and MK in particular, I still learned quite a bit.
I will say the tour route we took. We started on Main Street, stopping occasionally to learn things. We then made our way to the Hub, then Adventureland and Frontierland. We went backstage next to PoTC and walked around behind it and Splash Mountain. We also got to go over to the warehouse that holds the parade floats and walk around inside a bit looking at them. When we got done there we headed back onstage and headed over to Columbia Harbour House for our lunch, around 11am. We got to sit in a private area upstairs and they quickly brought up the meals we pre-ordered before the tour started. I sat next to Rachel and she thought I was a CM, since I knew the answer to so many of the questions she asked. I told her no, I just visit often and belong to the DIS!
Once lunch was done we got to ride the one attraction we were picked to do for our tour, Haunted Mansion. That happened to be Rachel's favorite attraction, and she told us facts (in our earpieces) the entire way. Some things I knew, some were new facts and some were things I knew but didn't know where they were in the attraction.
Once HM was done we headed into Liberty Square, then went backstage again near Crystal Palace. Once backstage we headed into the Utilidors, and walked around a bit, trying not to get run over by the vehicles down there! I can't remember what they call the vehicles, but they are basically big golf carts. After our utilidors tour we went back out backstage again (behind the Emporium) and then onstage again and the tour was over at promptly 1:30pm. I very much recommend this tour to anyone, whether you know a lot about MK already or not! I really enjoyed it.
Once I finished the tour I headed into the Photo store and picked up my PP+ card. As I walked down Main Street I stopped at a photographer and got my first magic shot, Tinkerbell!
After my picture session I headed into the new Main Street Bakery for my first Pumpkin Spice Latte of the trip.
I know a lot of people don't like the change, but I was happy for some Starbucks! The Main Street band was playing, so I stopped to listen for a few minutes...
I drank the latte down pretty quickly as I walked toward the Hub, stopping for more PP pictures. First 2 are my camera (it was a bit windy!) and second two are the PP pics.
Apparently everyone loves the popcorn at WDW, even non-humans!
I hung a right at the Hub, and headed toward Tomorrowland. I stopped to take some pictures first....
Then stopped at the PP at the Rose Garden for a quick shot (he was polite, but rushed everyone though the pictures). First is my camera, second was him.
Once my pictures were taken I headed into Tomorrowland, and headed straight for Space Mountain.
The line for Space was a little long, so I grabbed a Fastpass (going to miss the old system the next time I go!!!). The FP was for only 40 minutes from then, so I went over to Monsters Inc Laugh Floor. There are some new things added to the theming and the video to reflect Monsters University's release.
The show itself was funny as always! A few jokes always referenced MU.
I still had time before my FP for Space Mtn so I went next door to ride Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin. The posted wait time was 10 minutes, but I was on in less than 5.
For unknown reasons Buzz was not working that day, and instead of seeing him there was a curtain across that said "Star Command".
