I think I'm beginning to "understand" my DS...

DS (just turned 14) told DH tonight that there is a project that he has to do for one of his classes, but he is thinking about not doing it. His reason? BTW, I almost fell off the chair when I heard it... Ready? He has a B average in the class and if he did the project he would then have an A average! DH and I looked at each other in shock... So, an A is now considered a "bad" thing?????

Less than 3 months left of middle school, I don't know if I can survive!

That's my guess, too. I suspected it since 2 of his grades dramatically dropped during the second marking period. Those grades are now again greatly improved... The peaks and valleys of raising teens.

Why don't we have a smilie pulling our hair out? That would be a good one...

You know, I did something similar in high school, but it wasn't because I'd be a geek. I had very good grades, but I was extremely shy. I was terrified of being the valedictorian! Giving a speech at graduation would have surely been the end of me. So i sabotaged my math grades--poor little, dumb me; i'm only a girl. How could they expect me to do hard stuff like math

I graduated 5th Lots of recognition/No speeches.

My son who is almost 13 and currently in 7th grade is currently working hard not to make the One Club which is 5 As. I don't know if they announce it out at school on the lunch hour or something but he told me only the geeks make that. Nice attitude I told him. I have to sit on top of him to get him to do his homework. NOT FUN.
