Can I please, please, please get off the roller coaster?

I think DS has an ear infection. I noticed him "playing" with his ears (mostly the left one) last night and then again this morning. When I picked him up from daycare this afternoon I asked and they said he has been tugging at his ears all day yesterday and today. (As a separate topic - Why didn't they tell me this yesterday? )

He has not had a fever and he has not been fussier than usual..maybe just a little but not as much as I would expect. He seems to be more bothered by his ears when he lies down and he is not sleeping as well but I thought some of that may have been because he got some shots on Friday afternoon.

I was able to get an appointment to have his ears looked at for this evening. I hope it is nothing but I am afraid that it will be infected.

DS has been dealing with so much. Breastfeeding problems, milk protein allergies, roseola, colds and now possibly an ear infection. When will this all end?

I'm afraid it won't end until they go to college and they take care of themselves:smooth: ! Seriously, DS is 11 and STILL has ear infections even after having tubes put in and tonsils and adenoids taken out! DD, who breastfed MUCH better and longer has not had as many problems. Perhaps your adorable DS is just teething? Let us hear how it goes! Pixie Dust for him :D !

It never ends, lol. You just get better at handling things. Now that I have an 11yo dd I feel I have a handle on it.;)

Becka, hang in there.

{{{Hugs}}} It may get a little better after he's been in daycare for a while longer. When I worked in daycare, it took all of us (kids and teachers) about 6 months before we stopped catching every little thing that went around.

Been there done that. One thing the helped with my DS was to fold a small crib blanket up and put in under the mattress (sp). It created a slight incline so DS was not lying flat to relieve some of the pressure.

We had tubes in both of my girls ears due to ear infections. It is no fun. Hang in there.

becka, How did your son make out at the doctors? I am not trying to downplay his not feeling well but I walwys look at it this way when my son was a baby, He is growing an immune system that will help him out when he goes to school. I really do believe that :D

My oldest DS gave us every possible infection while in daycare. By the time he was 4, he really didn't get sick anymore. He really built up a good immune system. As for ear infections, this may be a weird philosophy, be grateful your son shows symptoms of them. I never know that my oldest DS has an ear infection until he has a physical, and the doctor says, "Did you know your son has an ear infection?" Talk about embarrassing.

Sorry I did not get an update earlier.

I took DS to the dr. and they said his ears look fine thankfully but he just has another nasty cold. :( He said the congestion could be bothering his ears or he could have just discovered that he has ears and is having a good time playing with them. :p

So far today he has not been too fussy so hopefully this will pass quickly.

There ya go, some sorta good news. :) I hope he does get better soon.

Becka, I'm glad Nathan doesn't have an ear infection and I hope his cold goes away really soon!

Is there some way someone could resize your picture of Nathan so it will fit within the guidelines?
