I can't believe it. We are staying at POR Sept 29-Oct 8 with free dining!!!! We already had the dining package. I just had them apply the code. I am soooooo excited. What did everyone else save????

We played right into the ahnds of WDW and spent MORE!
o.k. Only about $150 and went from 4 nights POP/ 5 nights Dolphin, to 2 nights POP / 8 nights CR. I used what our dining choices are on the plan and totalled those as if OOP, so that I would be comparing food equally...so the way we see it for $150 more we have 3 more nights in deluxe resort, and now can walk to MK and have the monorail and DS has his own bed! However, our meals have all "upgraded" as well...no way would we normally do 2 character meals@ Chef Mickey Dinner and CP breakfast + O'Hana's+Sci-Fi+Mama Melrose's+LeCellier+Coral Reef+Boma's + Concourse Steak House! I have to say it is a bit much, but we would not experience these places all on one trip, won't be heading back for a while as DD college is looming, so I guess, go out with a BANG!

$683.82 off rack rate, $372.60 off AAA price!! Either way we have free dining again!! Soooo excited! 2 Adults staying at POFQ Sept 6th-15th (2nd annual anniversary trip!!). 10 day PH & w/Water Parks n' More Fun tickets!

Now, I don't want to wish away the summer for everyone, but I am just so excited for September to get here!

We weren't going to take a WDW trip this year UNTIL- "free dining" came about- now not only are we paying $622 for 4 nights at Pop that we didn't intend to spend, I talked my Dad and DH's Mom into going with us to the tune of $418 each from each of them too for a grand total of ................... $1458 for all of us with three rooms and 6 one day tickets!
This is the fastest that we have ever gotten together to "plan" a WDW vacation ever- less then 1 hour for all of us to get called and dates set up and off we go !

We asked for it to be applied to our plans It is on offer for travel from Aug 13 to Sept 30th.


I saved $1200!! Wooohooo! This is only because I changed from Regular season to Value season Though I did add an extra night and one extra person to the Package. I am so excited!

I had this whole trip mapped out with AAA for this exact time period and was just waiting to book..... as it was a lot of money and I hate to give my ressies to a TA because I like to keep control....... but that was the only way to get a room discount from AAA and the dining plan. The total for 8 nights with 2 rooms at pop, park hoppers, and dining for 3 adults, 2 juniors and 1 child for 8/15-8/23 was quoted as $4618 from AAA. That included a 15% discount on the 2 POP rooms.

Well thank God I waited .......because on Saturday I was able to call CRO and book myself the exact same package listed above at 2890.00 I got free dining for 6 and I got an even larger room discount as the new value season for POP was moved from 8/27 back to 8/13 so my rooms were $79 a night rather than $99 with the AAA 15% discount. I did not have to use a TA...... as I prefer not to have a middle man and I don't have to spend the $75 to $100 for an AAA membership that I don't currently have.

I saved $$$ 1,728.00 ( not including the cost of AAA membership that I don't need to buy now) on a trip that I had already planned to take but was just holding back because with airfare and a DD starting college in the fall I was concerned about the money. Now I can book my trip with peace and even if the air fare is more than I hope I won't having to sweat it.

This is just a great blessing from God to me and am so thankful that I was able to read about it immediately on DIS as I would not have known about it otherwise

Technically, I didn't save anything since I spent the same amount for the package as I was going to spend on my room-only AAA-discounted ressie. I down-graded the room type in order to keep the price in line with the budget. The difference is that now we get to eat for the same price and I'll have 4 1-day passes to use for a future trip.

Well, it depends on how you look at it. We switched our December WDW trip (Poly - 6 nights with dining plan) to the new August YC trip (saved $600 there).

Then, we cancelled an August cruise we had booked (saved $3800 there).

Finally, we saved $918 off rack rate (dining plan for 2 parents and 2 "adult kids" ) times 6 nights.

Sounds great, right??

But I still don't know what we'll do for Christmas (cruise? WDW? Universal?), so we may end up spending more!!
