Steakhouse 71

We are staying at the Contemporary and was wondering if anyone has eaten at Steakhouse 71? Is it part of the dining plan and how many TS credits?

I have eaten in the lounge, but not the restaurant. The food I've had is good (the burger is amazing!).

I have dined in the restaurant several times since it opened (most recent was Sept 2024 though) and it has been fantastic every single time. Love the filet and then getting to choose what side I want with it. The creamed spinach was some of the best I have ever had. Has like 4 different cheeses in it. We think it is better than the creamed spinach at Ruth Chris and we consider that truly amazing creamed spinach.

Also enjoyed dinner there! If you are staying at the CR and have the DDP, definitely try it!

As others have said, 1 credit. They happen to have one of the best breakfasts on property. Lunch and dinner also are consistently very good. Is it the best steak at WDW? Absolutely not, but it’s good and I’ve always had good service. The windowless atmosphere is a little weird; I’ve felt that way since it was the Wave.

It's my wife and my favorite spot to have dinner and it's pretty consistently good. If you have dinner there get the sea salt dusted brioche potato bun appetizer. I could eat that all day every day.

Been a favorite since it opened - have eaten there 6-8 times now. Never actually stayed at Contemporary, but it's very convenient as a dinner choice when I'm in Boulder Ridge or Fort Wilderness Campground to just boat there and back. Have a reservation for my upcoming February trip, staying in the Fort Wilderness Cabins.

My wife and I dine here every time we go to WDW. The food is very good. If you're on the dining plan, consider splurging on the 15 layer chocolate cake. It's big enough for two people, and it's probably the best chocolate cake anywhere at WDW.

I am eating there for dinner twice for my upcoming trip next week. One of the better 1 credit restaurants on property. My only issue is the general lack of theming compared to many other locations.

We ate there before our fireworks cruise last November. The food was delicious, I got the filet with the red wine sauce. My BIL got the chocolate cake, it was massive. Both the niece and nephew got the kids’ meals with the chocolate sundaes for dessert, and the sundaes came out with all the sides separate so they could assemble their own. The sprinkles were Mickey shaped, it was adorable. I’d absolutely eat there again.

We generally have lunch there as a break from the MK. Love their steaks and mac & cheese and the burgers are terrific. Eating at the bar is also an option. We hope to try breakfast one day when we’re staying at the CR/BLT.

I agree. The atmosphere reminds me of a school cafeteria. But the food is so good, it’s easy to overlook that.

My group (my parents, brother, two nephews) is looking for steak or Italian as my brother is very picky, I have Italian all the time in So FL, so I’ve been looking for good steak places

I went to Steakhouse 71 2 years ago, and I had a disappointing experience, but I totally discount it because I was exhausted - far more than I’ve ever been at WDW, and I was literally dozing off between courses. It turned out I had caught Covid at WDW

So it’s nice to see some good reviews …

I always love going to the Contemporary …
