Thanks for listening

No i pegged it out on the line

just left it to dry out in the kitchen room temp

Would it be covered under your household insurance Jackie??

Yikes. Don't have any suggestions, other than to get DS to buy himself a new one and never tell DH? You have my sympathy!

He is a student hasn't a penny

good idea about the house insurance
might look in to it
Thanks

DD dropped her iPod in the bath and we managed to resurrect it after leaving it in the airing cupboard for quite a few days. We kept trying it every day and eventually it started again.

It wasn't submerged for anything like 4 hours, though (probably more like 4 seconds), so I don't know whether this would work for you.

Good luck :)

You might also try ringing apple! They offer repairs?
Their repairs aren't cheap :(

Subsequent to the bath incident, DD had some other little 'accidents' with her iPod and we sent it back because the battery finally gave up completely and she could use it only when plugged in to the mains charger. Apple returned it and said it had been subject to 'wilful misuse'. Probably fair comment, although we didn't feel the battery should have given up just because it had been dropped. Anyway, the repair charge would have cost almost as much as buying a new iPod mini, so she had a new one for Christmas (plus a rubber cover!).

Any news on your drowned iPod, jns?

OMG - hope you can get it to work again

mine broke too.... kept dropping it and stuff... lol... but apple gave me a new one no probs...

anyways.... i've checked before and mine IS covered by our house insurance so i'd definately look into that...

p.s.

Not the this will help the orginal poster, but next time, try to pull apart the item as much as possible with a screw driver (not that you can do much with an ipod) and let it sit to dry for at least 5 days. Most times an item will work. You need to refrain from trying the item until its dry as you can short circut the item (water + electrics = bad things).
