I need to RANT and RAVE and SCREAM!!

But I can't so I will just have to settle with Posting here.

My mother & Brother who I am visiting this weekend is going to make me insane. They just recently purchased a new Dell PC and have already had to use the restore once. I can't tell you how many times they install and uninstall garbage. Last night while I was sleep they were having an issue connecting to the internet with the cable modem. So my Brother the idiot he is starts uninstalling stuff. Not thinking that it could be the access having issues. So this morning my mother says I hope your brother got the pc to work. I groaned and came over. He had already uninstalled a bunch of stuff with no need too. I went to there cable provider site and got the info that the internet was down and now running. I swear they have no idea what they are doing and think they know it all and most of the time they are wrong but who am I to tell them that. I now know today is the day we are going home. I can only take so many days of them. Worse even is the fact DH and I are seperating and they all of a sudden spent all weekend bashing him with my son around so I spend more time asking them not too. ACKKKK SCREEAAMMM!!!!!

I understand completely! When my parents got their computer, I had MSN at the time....they got a local provider for dialup. Every time I talked to them, my dad said he had MSN now....he was confused....I explained (everytime) that just because you can get to www.msn.com, it does NOT mean its your provider!

I empathize with you! Your post reminds me of the old saying, "You can choose your friends, but your're stuck with your family." It's a shame they had to badmouth your son's father in front of him. What were they thinking???? {{{Hugs}}}

I'm sorry I have to laugh because my DH is forever yelling at me about installing things and the removing them. I don't do it to things I don't know what are....but I love changing my theme etc...and I am forever putting one on, deciding I don't like it, taking it off and looking for another. It drives John crazy....think I'll go look for a new one

I was told by a computer salesperson when I purchased my Dell, that you should never uninstall programs that come already installed on your computer. He said they are imbedded, and pretty much, fragment when you uninstall them. It's practically impossible to remove the whole program. So, now I never uninstall, unless it's something small that I installed or downloaded. I also learned, when in doubt, call customer support.
