I live in North Dakota and you would think that I would be prepared for winter. :confused3 But winter came 2 days ago and left a couple inches of snow. I have no shoes appropriate for winter. I have nice Columbia boots, but I would like a pair of shoes that I can wear for a quick errand when it is not blizzarding out. Seriously, I've lived here all my 37 years and you would think I would have a pair of shoes appropriate for winter. Anybody have advice for winter shoes within a reasonable price?

I love Merrell shoes.

These are insulated shoes...

LL Bean has the Comfort Moc. Land's End has something similar. That is what I use when it is sloppy, but not deep.

Timberland has great shoes. They are one of the few boot/shoe that is cut low around the ankle. I can't wear a shoe that rubs on my boney ankles. Timberland are great for that, warm, and waterproof. You can get them in a shoe, ankle length shoe/hiking type shoe, higher up boot, etc. :thumbsup2

It’s the Deal of the Week on Crocs.com at just $9.99 — that’s 75% off! Just type Lena into the search box to find them easily.

PLUS you can use the code N9DWZLKY3ISA for an additional 5% off, and they are offering FREE economy shipping as well!

I also really like my Lands End all weather mocs! They fit great and keep my feet warm and comfy.

I'm in MI, and this time of year I live in my Merrells. I've got high arches, and they really support my feet, as well as keep them warm. They're not cheap -- but they do last.

Merrell Encore Chill Stitch shoes. On the Merrell website they are $90 but
I have seen them at Marshalls and DSW shoes for $70.

You wear those in snow?!? I'm impressed. Although I almost never wear heels in any weather so I'm not the one to ask.

I have been on the hunt for winter shoes like the OP (actually purchased several and returned them - just not right).

After reading this thread I decided to go ahead and order a pair of the Land's End all weather mocs. They were a good price and I knew I could just return to the local Sears if they did not fit.

Shoes arrived yesterday and I absolutely love them! I am hoping they get my size back in stock in another color I have my eye on - love them that much! And I can literally buy two pairs for what I had planned on paying for a new pair of shoes!

Thanks to everyone who suggested the Lands End shoe and provided the codes!

I'm so glad that you like them! Like I said, I live in mine. They are very comfortable and warm. :thumbsup2

Would like to order the Lands End mocs. Do they run true to size? Would I be able to wear them with a slightly thicker sock?

I just got mine this week. I wear a thick athletic ankle sock most of the time and they fit just fine. I ordered an 8 and I always wear an 8, so they fit true to size. I really like the way the heel is tight and doesn't slip up and down when I walk. They are very comfy and very, very warm! Currently we are below zero for temperature and my feet have been very warm running in and out for errands. They also have good traction for the snow. LOVE them and what a great price!!!!
