We are going to OKW and Vero during Easter break this year. We only stayed one night at OKW and never at Vero so we are not very familiar with the properties.

I know I want to stay in the turtle (something) area at OKW. I see that buildings 40 - 44 are the ones I should ask for. We are staying in a studio. Can anyone tell me if any of the above referenced buildings are non-smoking, have studios and view of the pool? Recommended room numbers would be appreciated.

As for Vero, we are staying in a one bedroom and I want to be as close to the pool as possible with a pool view and non-smoking. Are there any buildings or rooms that would satisfy these requests? Once again, room numbers would be appreciated.

Thank You,

D. B. Kelly

There are Villas near the pool area. I don't know the breakdown of 2BR's, 1BR's, so on. I'm sure if you stay in a Villa near the mini golf course you will have a view of the pool.

We always stay in an Inn Ocean View room that is why I don't know the exact details. The room we stay in happens to overlook the pool and the ocean and we love it. I love being able to see my DH playing with the kids in the pool if he takes them down there without me-or the other way around.

You will love VB. The pool and slide are great. The restaurants are great and there are lots of things to do.

I know someone will give you more info on exact room numbers and such at VB and OKW.

The beach is great too. We were there in October and spent a lot of time at the pool and the beach. Just a note-the "noseeums" were kind of bad in October so we didn't go to the pool first thing in the morning or at sunset without wearing OFF. We never had a problem the first 4 times we were there. Just wanted you to know this. You may not encounter them at all.

HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What are "noseeums"? Bugs? Are they seasonal? We can't wait to visit Vero for the first time. Do you know where I can access a map of Vero? I have looked everywhere. Even WDWinfo does not seem to have one.

Thanks for the info.

First, do not let noseeums worry you. We were told that they are a part of the mosquito family. They are so tiny, that is why they are called noseeums. We never knew about them in four trips and then last time we went to the beach at sundown the night we got there. We woke up the next morning and it looked like we had the chicken pox. We bought some Benadryl but it was kind of embarrassing at the pool because I didn't want people to think we had some contagious disease and were still going to go in the water.

Had we worn OFF (we usually try to stay away from OFF because of the DEET but it is the only thing that works on them) or not gone to the beach or pool at sunrise or sundown, they probably would not have been so bad. You could see other people scratching their ankles, etc standing in line at the snack bar and we all kind of laughed about it.

DO NOT WORRRY ABOUT THESE. We had a great trip and this was just not an issue. I only wanted to say something so you would know. You may not even see them. They are nowhere to be found during the day. The CM's at Vero are very knowledgeable about them.

I do not know where you can get a map. You may want to try tcpalm. com I know there are people on these boards who have links to maps, etc. that will probably post soon.

When we were staying at WL before going over to Vero I sat in the kids pool with my son and daughter(at night) with my back exposed and the next morning I had about 10 little bumps on my lower back. I asked in concierge if anyone else was having a problem with any rashes or anything. We had no idea what they were-then we got to VB and the CM in the gift shop said "Oh, those were probably noseeums"

Make sure you try the campfire, the restaurants, etc. and if you go into town we always like Casey's Place for lunch-great sandwiches, etc and Rita's Italian Ice. They will also give you a local map when you check in.

With regard to OKW. Simply request , Non smoking, Turtle Pond area. As to a specific room, you chances are slim to get a specific room number.

The VB resort is relatively small -- only 3 buildings and the Inn. You do not need to worry about being "near" anything....you can't help but be "near". The ocean is "right there" -- however, a protective dune prevents you from seeing the ocean unless you are above the level of the dune. You can request "poo view" and I'm sure they'll do their best but only a very few rooms in one building will satisfy that request.

Do you only want to stay in a villa?

Have you thought about an Inn Ocean View room or do you want the kitchen, extra room and washer/dryer?

FYI-In case you decide to stay in the Inn, you may want to try 2216, 2316 or 2416. Pool and Ocean view corner rooms.

The resort is relatively small but you may still want to request pool view. If you end up in the buildings north of the main inn you will not be able to see the pool from your room.

Thank you everyone. I requested pool view (building 14) at Vero and turtle pond area with pool view at OKW. I hope my wishes are granted. My oldest is 10 years old and he is getting very annoyed with the fact that I will not let him out of my sight. I was hoping if I got a pool view, I could let him go to the pool and watch him from my room while his sister is napping. I still don't know if I will actually have the nerve to do it, but I will try.
