We are going back to Disney in Sept. 09 and need some suggestions for dining. We are staying at the Beach Club.
Here's what we are planning so far.
Arrival day- HWS - Dinner@ Sci Fi
Day #2 MK- Lunch @ Crystal Palace
Day #3 AK - Lunch or Dinner @ ?????
Day #4 Epcot - lunch @ LeCellier
Day #5 DTD - Lunch /Dinner @ Teppan Edo
Day #6 HWS - Dinner @ Cape May Cafe
Day #7 no TS service

I need help with a lunch or dinner for our Animal Kingdom day.
Do we be brave and try Boma??? Or play it safe and try something else like Yak & Yeti???
We are not very adventerous eaters and would like to try something close to AK.

How about a late breakfast at Tusker House? We enjoyed the breakfast, there were some more adventurous choices but also typical breakfast items. The characters were really great for the kids.

Boma has both "exotic" foods and "general" foods, all of which is delicious! There will be plenty for you to eat, even if you aren't an adventerous eater (I'm not either, but DBF lives for eating all different kinds of foods). If you've never been, I highly recommend it!

I also think Boma's is worth traveling to from AK to try once. There is plenty to eat even if you are not adventurous.....and I like taking a break from the parks. We've never tried Yak & Yeti though, so this trip we'll be eating there for lunch - in just a week:santa: :santa:

we ate at boma for the first time in november, and loved it!! however, if you are not big meat eaters, it may not be for you. and ALK is goregous so it's worth it just to go there :)

I would go back to Yak & Yeti in a heartbeat! The food was very good. Another option is go to AKL for dinner at Jiko..man that place is just to die for

Not sure about this one - I could go to Boma, fill up on soup and salad and veggies and never touch the meat.

Boma is also one of the best restaurants on property for vegetarians and vegans.

If you had to choose between Boma & Cape May Cafe for dinner, which would you choose?

Boma is VERY good and we love it, but I've gotta say, we had lunch at Yak & Yeti last week and it was soooooo fantastic. I would go to Boma for breakfast and Y&Y for lunch!

I agree with the idea of having a late breakfast at Tusker House. We had breakfast there in June and loved it. The characters and the different outfits were great. It is one of the few places that you can actually find Daisy Duck. The food and the service were some of the best we had on the whole trip.

i am a picky eater and my family is not and none of us like boma. it was me hubby and two teenagers

The day you are at AK I would go to Yak and Yeti, I just ate there last week and the food was very good, the service was great nice atmosphere:)

I am not an advertersome eater and Boma has never appealed to me. I am also not a big soup fan. We have eaten at AKL at Jiko and it was fabulous, but it is 2 TS on the DDP or expensive OOP. My DS ate at Yak & Yeti over Thanksgiving and said it was one of the best meals of his trip (including a trip to Jiko). I like the Cape May Cafe and personally if I had to choose between Boma and Cape May, Cape May would win. Just my personal opinion.

Lunch or Dinner at Tusker House would be my choice. There is a lot of variety of food to appeal to just about anyone.

AK meals are always a tough one for us too. We love BOMA but we are very adventurous eaters. The non adventurous eaters we have taken here have not been "over the moon" with this choice and none of them would choose to go back (we always ask our guests' opinions). Yak n Yeti is okay, think a dumbed down PF Changs, but it's not that great and definitely not worth going to if you are paying OOP as it is way overpriced for the quality. Jiko is amazing, one of our favorites, but as a signature, it is expensive and takes a long time to dine there, something your family may not appreciate.

Our trip next month, we are doing the latest seating for breakfast at Tusker House. We figure if we get a bit hungry later on the day while at AK, we'll split a CS meal.

I'd say skip the table service at the park and when you return to your hotel try one of the area restaurants - like Captains Grille, Spoodles or Beaches and Cream.

Boma's food is wonderful. You must try a zebra dome for desert-fantastic. While you are there, check out the beautiful lodge. There are many differerent areas to view the animals.
