Sorry, not permitted. There are some unorthodox people who have two member names on the DIS and might endorse themself. Just read the sticky threads at the top of the Rent/Trade Board. Or, like DVCconvert said, use David's.

Isn't there a Florda Agency website where timeshare owners are listed? I know I saw it once.

Using David is a great idea. You can also see if someone you know has a referral for you.

Proof of ownership is only one piece of the puzzle. In and of itself it is no guarantee against a scammer. The owner could still cancel the reservation.

The vast majority of transactions on our Rent/Trade board go smoothly, but there have been a handful of scammers over the years. If you want a little added safety, I'd go with an agency like David's, they cost a little more, but they hold half of the $ until after you've successfully checked into the resort.

Even with David's, there remains a very small risk. If you are the type to worry, get your reservation through Disney. Rentals are not worth sleepless nights.

Honestly, if you are "terrified" of being scammed, renting points may not be for you. As your trip gets closer, you should be getting more and more excited, not terrified. Renting points isn't for everyone.... good luck.
