SW credit card question...
DH opened a SW visa in 2016 to get the 50,000 rapid reward points.
He opened a business card and a SW Plus card in 2018 to get the companion pass.
He finally has all cards down to a zero balance.
If he cancels the original SW card, when will he be able to reapply and get the bonus again?
(Also, we’ve never “churned” before, so I just want to make sure this won’t negatively affect his credit now that all balances are finally at zero dollars.)
Thank you, experts, in advance for any input and advice!

You can only get a SW bonus on a personal card every 24 mos (from when the bonus posted) and a SW biz bonus every 24 mos (from when the bonus posted) so it does not appear your dh would be eligible until sometime in 2020. You can only get the bonus on one of the SW personal cards in the last 24 mos. This is a change from this last year.

You don't need to be worried about your credit.

Can you open SW cards in your name, if you are needing more SW points?

He won't be able to earn another SW bonus until 2020(24 months after his SW plus bonus posts). Many would recommend waiting to cancel until after his next anniversary points post. That's totally up to you.
Congrats on getting the balances down to zero! That's the only way to make this game really work. You don't wan to be paying interest fees that eat up the value of the points!

I agree. This just makes my heart hurt for the whole family :(

I don't want to take over the board with all this, but figured I'd update a bit.

Two year old now has a confirmed fracture of the C2 vertebrae. She will have to wear a collar for 6-12 weeks as of what we know now.

Son in law is still in surgery. He should be in recovery soon.

Daughter is sedated and sleeping. Daughter's aunt is with two year old in separate room - I misunderstood that earlier. Three year old is still at the hospital as all family is still there but she's sleeping now.

The driver that ran into them fell asleep.

I can't sleep until I know my son in law is out of surgery.

Big hugs for you and thank you for the update. I think we all appreciate it as we're all thinking of them and you.

Does anyone know of any transfer partners for Hertz? I use a survey site that I can cash out 3300 Hertz points from. DH has about 1300 points in his account. We’ll need around 5000 to rent a minivan for the week to drive to WDW. Thoughts?
I know they let you buy a certain amount, but not sure the max. I think a van should be 4400 for a week. We rent vans alot from hertz. :)

ETA: I just realized if you transfer your DH's to yours, you will have enough already!

And, when I talked to daughter, she wanted me to research whether she'll get her points back when she cancels her March trip - I can't even remember where she was going - as it was booked with British avios. I think this was the Cayman Island trip. I told her I had to ask @calypso726 but that she was in Antarctica and we would have to wait! She said fabulous!

I will be canceling my Florida trip. I was to leave on January 5th. No biggie. Florida will still be there for old people like me in a few months and they have Flower and Garden from March to May. I loved it when I went before.

Prayers that your SiL comes out of surgery soon and the whole family makes a speedy recovery. Such a scary situation for everyone!

Oh poor baby girl. I guess the focus has to be on the positives here. Obviously you know what that is!

It seems like your DSIL has been in surgery forever. Goodness I hope his recovery is quick.

Wow...surgery all day?! Prayers for him and all. Reminds us how quick things can change!

I think he went in fairly late but I've lost track of time. It seems like at least 4-5 hours, a long time. Lots of broken bones but at least not listed as critical.

Yes. It all changed in an instant. Son in law went in fairly late. Looking back over the texts it was at least 4-5 hours ago.

Edit: Daughter's surgery is scheduled for tomorrow. She's in soft cast now.

Been worried for your fam since you posted the first post. I know I appreciate the update! I'm a 'helper' personality and knowing this is all here in my home, I want to reach out to help though I know they have plenty of help and wouldn't know me from Adam lol. Just my personality...

Our news has been full the last few days of car wrecks with fatalities. I'm so glad your family was not among those. I'm not sure what is up. Our weather hasn't been bad for this time of year. Maybe just increased traffic on the roads...holiday travelers?? Denver tends to have pretty quiet news, imo...being from the Dallas and Houston areas where there is always plenty of crime to report...Lots of accidents lately with fatalies :(

Thank you for the update. I've been thinking about your family all day. It's so scary how things can change so quickly. I am so relieved that they are all ok. Sending hugs and prayers to all of you.

Hat trick, baby! Go Hawks!

I'm enjoying the few days we have of free center ice. Why they started it on Christmas Eve and do it through NYE I don't know since teams are dark for at least 2-3 of those days. Glad to watch the Sharks again instead of just waiting for them to be on NBCSN. The one thing I miss about having comcast for our cable is having CBC. Even if I didn't watch the games I'd still try and catch coaches corner or the pre or post game stuff. To answer the question everyone I'm sure is wondering, yes the Seattle area cable has a Canadian station and if you go up to Vancouver you will most likely get our Seattle stations at your hotel at least abc, nbc and cbs. I don't know if other markets have the cross over or not but I grew up watching shows on CBC back when stations had better kids programming including the original degrassi.
