I've been meaning to have P2 just go for the 50k/$2k offer, but it's been really hectic and I've been putting it off. I'm definitely planning to try later today. I'm fairly confident that I can pull the 50k incognito within a few tries, if Amex doesn't decide to remove the 50k offers altogether.
My wife was briefly targeted for the 100k personal Plat via CardMatch. I dawdled, lost it, and haven't been able to pull it up again since. I figure the PRG gets her 50k MR for $2k MSR. Worst case, she'll have to go with a 75k MR/$5k MSR incognito offer on the personal Plat when she's ready to get it. But if we time her Plat for November or December, she could triple dip the $200 airline credit, which helps to offset the lost 25k MR. With a targeted 100k MR offer on the Plat, who knows when you'll get it and have to jump, or lose it. You can't really time the 100k MR offer for a triple dip.
The early rumors about the Amex Gold welcome bonus was that it'll be 25k MR/$2k and up to $100 in statement credits from 20% back on the restaurant category ($500 spend). Last week, DoC posted a pic of the Gold card with a 50k MR/$3k offer. I don't know what the welcome offer will ultimately be, but assuming the lower points -- waiting for a 100k MR offer on the Plat and later settling for a 25k MR offer on the new Gold card is 125k MR with a $100 statement credit. Whereas, going for the PRG now with a 50k MR offer and the Plat later with a 75k MR offer also nets 125k MR, but potentially with a third $200 airline credit. Even assuming the 50k MR/$3k offer on the new Gold card, that's $1k more MSR than the current incognito offer.
And I thought you've already had the Amex Platinum card?
