I love credit cards so much!

I'm slow, but I had another thought for your Air BnB GC's. Do you have some Discover cashback? Airbnb is a redemption option, 45 gets you 50, 90 gets you 100; both eGC and GC available.

I probably wouldn't be charging up the Discover to get them, but if you had some CB already not allocated, here's a potential use for it.

ETA: oh an a reminder for others, same options for Hotels .com but eGC only.
That’s so funny that you said this! Dh just two days or so ago used cashback for an Airbnb gc! I also got a $40 credit from a blogger so we have some money built up. I looked again where we are staying and her reviews are so positive! It makes me really excited to stay with her and her family.

From r/churning:

I just chatted with an Amex representative and I got the following message from him:

me: Hi, I just got a notification about the American Express Gold Card and a limited edition rose gold card. I was wondering if it were possible to get this limited edition card

amex rep (AR): I have checked all the details regarding this and we do not have any changes to our Cards to share at this time

me: Hmm that is odd because I got a popup saying there are changes. Is there any way I can upload a screenshot of that here?

AR: I totally understand , actually as part of regular testing to our website, some Card Members saw test materials in their Amex online account. We do not have any changes to our Cards at this time. Please be assured if there would be any certain change, we will notify our card members via different mode of communication

Guess we have to wait til tomorrow?

That always cracks me up. So if you would ONLY be notifying members of changes via a different mode of communication, why would it EVER be setup as a test on the system? I hate companies that can't come up with a better line of BS than that.

ETA: Checked over on the discussion thread and this is more the response I'd expect "As part of regular testing to our website, some Card Members saw test materials in their Amex online account. We do not have any changes to our Cards at this time. You may contact us back after a couple of days to check if the changes are in action now."
That's more genuine and gives me more confidence in the company than that first chat rep's response.

I've been meaning to have P2 just go for the 50k/$2k offer, but it's been really hectic and I've been putting it off. I'm definitely planning to try later today. I'm fairly confident that I can pull the 50k incognito within a few tries, if Amex doesn't decide to remove the 50k offers altogether.

My wife was briefly targeted for the 100k personal Plat via CardMatch. I dawdled, lost it, and haven't been able to pull it up again since. I figure the PRG gets her 50k MR for $2k MSR. Worst case, she'll have to go with a 75k MR/$5k MSR incognito offer on the personal Plat when she's ready to get it. But if we time her Plat for November or December, she could triple dip the $200 airline credit, which helps to offset the lost 25k MR. With a targeted 100k MR offer on the Plat, who knows when you'll get it and have to jump, or lose it. You can't really time the 100k MR offer for a triple dip.

The early rumors about the Amex Gold welcome bonus was that it'll be 25k MR/$2k and up to $100 in statement credits from 20% back on the restaurant category ($500 spend). Last week, DoC posted a pic of the Gold card with a 50k MR/$3k offer. I don't know what the welcome offer will ultimately be, but assuming the lower points -- waiting for a 100k MR offer on the Plat and later settling for a 25k MR offer on the new Gold card is 125k MR with a $100 statement credit. Whereas, going for the PRG now with a 50k MR offer and the Plat later with a 75k MR offer also nets 125k MR, but potentially with a third $200 airline credit. Even assuming the 50k MR/$3k offer on the new Gold card, that's $1k more MSR than the current incognito offer.

And I thought you've already had the Amex Platinum card?

I have the Biz Plat from back when you were posting about calling in for it w the 100K offer (thanks btw!, & I'm still working on the MSR for that one), DH also has the Biz Plat. Neither of us have a personal MR card. My hesitation is that I'm at 4/24 and am planning on a SW CP for 2019-2020. If I find the 50K/$2K offer today and apply, then I'm hoping AMEX doesn't report it until after I apply for the SW Biz (I lowered my CIC CL by 10K on 9/28 and am not sure how long I need to wait for that to be reflected in their system, plus it would be my 3rd Chase biz card with a "business"). I was planning on applying at the end of October for it. I know you've said it takes a couple of months for AMEX to report to the credit agencies, and I'm hoping that's still true.

ETA: Those are good points about the 75K/$5K incognito offer and triple dipping the airline credits.

Oh what a dramatic morning I have had. :crazy2:
Hawaii DCL was sold out first thing this morning and it isn't even open to the public. After much refreshing I was able to finally get a room. Then I refreshed a bunch more and got a 2nd room. So we are booked, though in GTY rooms and the price obviously went up since Monday since it was selling so dang fast so it is more than I want to pay. I have a 3 day hold to think about it I guess. I am sure the next time they do Hawaii they will jack prices way higher since this went so well.
As plan B I also booked a southern carib from San Juan. It is a significant savings over Hawaii and something I always wanted to do.
Now time to catch up on the rest of this thread!
Wow that sold out fast.....
We did a Royal Caribbean cruise out of San Juan...10 years ago for in-laws anniversary....had a good time...but the kids in our group ages 8-16...went to the kids/teen clubs the first day and didn’t go back since the majority of the ship and kids in the clubs spoke Spanish and most things were geared towards the South American culture

Are you trying for a CP for 2018/2019 or 2019/2020? I am going for 2019/2020 and I have never done a CP before so I am super nervous about messing this up! LOL. Although I just realized that I had this little plan of taking a cheap SW flight with my BFF to sign up for the higher in flight offer except DH is going to be acquiring the CP--and we weren't planning on bringing the menfolk! I love how typing things out always makes me see why some grand plan I came up with won't work.

Could you apply for DH on the flight ? I always fill out my DH applications...I don’t think he’d have a clue how :D

Reductions in your credit line with Chase will show up on your credit report when the statement for the card, on which you reduced the credit line, closes and gets reported to the credit bureaus a day or two later. (In other words, one or two [business?] days after your statement closes.) Or, you can force an update by Chase if you pay off the card’s balance entirely.

My SPG Lux from 8/24 had its first statement close about two weeks ago, and it still hasn’t reported to my credit reports.

haha, well I believe you even without the photo! Intriguing. I had no idea that was thing!

Man, I hope it's there in November! Haha.

I'd never heard of it before. I'd guess it had to do with a convention going on this week. The side of it said "Enrollment provided by IdentoGo" and "Sign up here in less than 10 minutes!"
It was gone when I left this afternoon though.

That's really good news for me. I just checked, and my CIC stmt closed 10/1 so my reduced CL should be reported any day now. Phew, good timing on that! I like your added detail about paying off a balance in entirety to force an update, I've never heard that before.

Have you had any luck pulling the 50K/$2K offer today?

Went back to CVS with my Passport today...denied that I had reached my limit. Reddit user had done this fine yesterday. It is for sure 24 hours and not next day like the slip that prints states. I'll hit for one each, Thurs-Sat if it is still running. Surprised the system picked up on my Passport as I had used my license yesterday. Maybe it is matching name/DOB/Zip. Oh well.

As an update from yesterday, Dosh seems to pick up the Amex for credit at CVS and not my Visa that was linked, yet it (Visa) worked for 3% back at Exxon right after.

I can never seem to get good matches at CardMatch. Looked for me on Chrome, IE, and Chrome Incognito. I don't have any AMEX offered to me, let alone a unicorn plat or gold. I don't think I am sophisticated enough to change my VPN location or whatever that is. Any other tricks? I try to pull something up every few weeks or so since early July. I've recently tried subtle misspelling of my first name. Still nothing.

No, I haven’t tried yet. I plan to this afternoon when I’ll have more time and can brace for the inevitable, “Another credit card?!

Ok, charge card. And fingers crossed we don’t get the no welcome bonus pop up. I’ve been putting a good deal of miscellaneous spend on my wife’s cards, with groceries, gas, and RMN.

I don't do interest so I usually don't pay attention to this sort of thing but I just got three MINT alerts that Barlcay's raised the interest rates on all my cards. Went up .25% for each.

Reading the alert made me cringe!

Meanwhile, my $200 statement credit posted to my Disney Visa today! Paid the $300 balance left and into the sock drawer it goes. #AroundAndAroundWeChurn

It's based off of prime and the Fed raised rates last week so prime is up 25 basis points. The good thing is our savings accounts should start paying higher interest rates!

WSJ Prime up to 5.25% For some people this is the first time in their life they're seeing actual interest rates. At least for (most) of us here we don't pay any CC interest :) Makes my life more interesting though as the cost of money is rising and businesses are a little wary of taking on additional debt.

When we bought our first house interest rates were over 10%. Ah the good old days. o_O

Oh I know. I just never pay any attention to my APRs. I'm sort of curious - I should look and see what some of them are... I'd imagine same are over 20% which is just obscene. Well now I have an investigation project for tonight at least, ha.

Is the GrAAvy train stuff about American Airlines card mailers? If so, the weirdest thing is that my DD got 2 this week. I have no idea why other than she flew on AA in August. No mailers for her parents, who might want to look at the cards. Also, this week, she got a PIN Code from WDW... I never get them. :headache: Mind you, every trip she has taken has been planned for, booked by, and paid for by me. Thanks, Disney... :rolleyes1

Does DCL release all the rooms during early booking?

From everything I've ever read or heard about DCL, yes they really do let all the rooms book up. Doesn't mean that alot of them won't fall back into inventory in the next 3 days when the courtesy holds expire.

Tagging @tink1970 -

Amex Gold “Rose Gold” card will be a limited edition until 1/9(/19?).

Limited edition? It's just so funny to me. They are trying to copy Disney and the rose gold Minnie ears.

I believe so. A TA posted that they were told it is sold out too. Sporadically some GTY rooms have popped up but they may be from people cancelling their holds. I can't say for sure. I imagine some rooms will open up as holds expire.

ETA: Mine will likely be released if I can't modify them to 2 connecting rooms in the next 72 hours, or at least an OV across from an Interior. I can't see paying almost $13k and having the possibility of our 2 rooms being on different floors of the ship.

If you really want to go, I'd say wait and watch over the next few weeks. The courtesy holds will expire and there will be some openings. We booked an almost full cruise about a year in advance, and they had an ok cabin for me, but not where I really wanted us to stay, so I stalked the website. It's amazing how much turnover there is (practically every day). In the end I got exactly what I wanted. And then, around the paid-in-full week, people were dropping rooms like crazy and there was a ton of availability. So I think it depends on how long you're willing to hang in there. Whole blocks of rooms, connecting rooms, etc. were suddenly available at that point.

So, if you're planning to keep your house for a while, you could wind up in a better position if you don't pay it off - if rates keep going up, a good CD might beat my home loan rate! On the downside, I'll probably get fewer stock options this year because interest is a component of the Black–Scholes model that the company uses, so higher interest rates = greater cost to the company when they hand out options.
