I love credit cards so much!

Jellyrolls is the most amazing way to spend an adults only evening and I can't wait until we go in January. It also may be where I lost track of the tab and it cost more than our dinner at Narcoosees :drinking::drinking::drinking:......:scared::scared1:
Yes sir. Also I can see how that would happen.
While I can do coasters of any kind, one thing I can not do is haunted houses! Halloween Horror nights does not tempt me at all! But let me know how it is in case I decide to grow up in this regard also.
This is how I was. No desire, DH talked about going last year and I shot it down... we did come to the agreement that wed go with his brother if he went. Well, he told DH they decided not too.. and then went. DH and I were on our way out of Islands after it closed and he asked where they were, maybe they'd want to do dinner or drinks... and they were like oh we went to hhn.

So DH brought up going this year.. I caved.... found out some Dis board friends would be there too so we hung out with them. It was way more fun than I expected. Everything is so detailed, which is cool. But we did agree after that going with other people made it way more fun than if itd been just us, and we liked MNSSHP more mainly for that reason. I'd probably go in a group again.

Anyone familiar with booking international flights via the Chase (CSR) Travel Portal? I am looking at American Airlines flights from NYC->London for next August, and it is showing me flights for $352 round trip in economy. The fare class says O which AA's website says is a regular discounted economy fare, not Basic Economy. But when I choose flights and add them to my cart, it says:
  • Economy Class (O)
  • Carry-on - No fee
  • 1st Checked Bag - $60.00*
  • 2nd Checked Bag - $100.00*
  • *per passenger, paid upon check-in
So is this actually a Basic Economy fare? I will call Chase Travel in the morning but wanted to see if anyone here had run into this before and knows what type of fare this actually is. I don't really care about the checked bag fee but I need to make sure I can choose our seats in advance since we'll be flying with two kids.

I need someone to hold my hand wrt Chase Pay.

Tomorrow I'll be going to Shoprite. I always use self-scan bc there are special registers for those with reusable bags. I know I've seen a sign promoting Chase Pay at those registers. How do I actually use it? I generate a QR code in the app? and then scan it...how?? With the little scanning gun thing?

I think I'm up too late :p

If they have the scanning gun attached to the payment terminal like Target and some Walmarts, then yep that's what you'd use. You seem good :)

UPDATED:

CVS Dosh Update

Want to share before another person goes out and buys $2000 in VGC at CVS. The app has updated to state gift cards are excluded and $20 max per [transaction]. Even with the gift card exclusion, I just got $20 (Instead of $25) for a $500 VGC.

https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/comments/9kpnk2/comment/e721ymi?st=JMSEBW7U&sh=7cc8f01d

I went out and didn't see this post. Added Amex to Dosh before walking in. First purchase was $25 Disney GC and $500 VGC with my linked Amex. Went through fine. Second was 2x$500 VGCs with my Navy Visa that has been linked for awhile. Transaction hung up half way through, receipt printed and prompted for a refund on one of the VGCs. Figured it was just a fluke, refunded one and I went to the rack to get a second one. That one didn't work either. Had an alert that $20 was added to Dosh but not sure which card had triggered. I left about 15 min before they closed and headed to a 24hr location. Grab 2 cards and try again. One card went through and then a slip printed for the second that I had reached my limit of $2k for the day.

Noticed at the bottom of this receipt that they print a little activation on the same receipt that said it had $500 on it. Great. I check the other receipts from the last store and they say ZERO. Activated on the top and showing a zero balance on the bottom. I think I am done with Dosh/CVS for this deal. I will check tomorrow and see if those 2 cards to indeed have $0 or its just a delayed activation. Sum it up...3 transactions and only one $20 credit showing. Not sure which card it had worked on.

Did everyone see that Dosh has 5% back at JCPenney now too? That does nothing for me, but maybe helps someone here...

Got that one too! That would drag me to the mall...and I am not into the mall life.

DoC posted about a BECU banking bonus. It's only open to WA and OR, though it may not be all of OR. And I think they have branches in SC because of the Boeing plant there but it may only be open to employees there whereas here in WA it's open to any resident. I know there's a couple others from WA here. I'll add the support info to the misc on reddit in case anyone is interested.

yes, idk about the whole self-scan part though. that you might want to ask the attendant for that but the rest is correct, you sign into Chase Pay, hit Pay and scan the bar code.

Well the Chase not working with Disney thing just made it to the cruise board. Apparently it wasn't common knowledge yet. This thread is a great source of information, even if sometimes the news isn't so great.

id at least wait till end of the month to really be sad about this. I have no knowledge of Disney trips but if someone calls the Citi travel service line and try to book a disney on TYP points, this will confirm if its chase that made the stop or disney.

Miles to the Magic has confirmed that Citi TYPs can still be used to book Disney tickets, hotels, etc. through Connexions, which staffs both Citi’s and Chase’s over the phone travel departments. https://milestothemagic.com/chases-...-cannot-book-anything-disney-related-anymore/

There’s been some discussion here about when the anniversary free night certificates that now come with the Marriott and SPG cards will post.

Ben at OMAAT has an interesting article: How To Redeem The SPG Amex Anniversary Free Night Award, including the DP that his certificates posted about 6 weeks after his SPG cards AFs posted.

Thanks for that. My Marriott Premier night posted for 35K. Unfortunately my SPG AF won't hit until April.

In the beginning of August I did the Southwest shopping promo. I thought I did something wrong because I never got any bonus points. I finally got the email that they posted, 2 months later. Had no idea it would take so long.

I’ve always had the bonus points take that long...I “think” they wait to make sure there are no returns

I’m way behind on this thread so don’t know if this has already been discussed. I got an email from PNC with an offer for a $15 bonus for paying 2 bills through their bill pay service by the end of the calendar month. You can pay individuals through it as well as companies, so I set up 2 x $150 payments (my $300 opening bonus posted last week) to my wife. We have the same mailing address so I’m not sure it will work, but I didn’t want to go through the hassle of changing any of my regular bills for one month just for $15. The email says the bonus can take up to 10 weeks to post after the payments are made, so I’ll probably have forgotten about it by then and wonder where the extra $15 in my account came from, lol.

I agree! I had to break the news to a fb group of disboard friends this morning

Which would annoyingly make you pay the AF to get it, right?

Update on my Amex SPG bonus.

It had been about 10 days, so I messaged with Amex chat this weekend. They said that my bonus would post within 48 hours. It posted yesterday but I only got 25k Marriott points rather than the 75k points it should have been after the conversion.

I had asked about this when I chatted previously with Amex, stating that the values had changed with the merger. They said that it would get converted on Marriott’s end.

Called Marriott and they transferred me to SPG. So much for one program. SPG elevated to a supervisor. I explained the issue and they said Amex gave courtesy points rather than a bonus, so those didn’t get converted 1 to 3 as it should have. Supervisor is following up with the SPG credit card division and said she will follow up via email. Hoping I end up with my 75k points, otherwise it was a pretty terrible deal.

Will update again when I hear back from SPG.

Off to Phoenix now. Staying at Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass. Looks nice so I am excited.
