I love credit cards so much!

We took our first cruise during a hurricane, and we had really rough seas. My dd and I thought we would die on a sail boat in Mexico, with Meclizine and Ginger. But on our cruise, we both wore the patch and we were great! Not an ounce of nausea!!! On our second cruise, she had issues with the super dry mouth, but I have never had a problem with it, and used in San Fran for driving up to the woods and flying to England and plan to use it for FOP as well LOL.

Good to hear. I took Bonine for a snorkel cruise in Maui and I was sooooo sick the whole time. It just doesn't do much for me. Hoping the patch does. I've used it before, but not in rough seas.

Do you think this “Wells Fargo Recipient Name: "Attn: Cashier Wells"

Means “recipient of the mortgage (aka my name): attn cashier wells”

Is what I write?

In plastiq it will ask you for the recipient name (the name that the check is going to) and you write in the box "attn cashier wells"

That is how I interpret this.

I was checking my SW account this morning and I received my nights and flights points YAY! But I noticed the cc offer on there is for $200 statement credit and 10,000 RR points. Has the offer on the site always been this bad and I just never noticed it? I hope that is not what they are going to be switching to. I checked the support links and they are still for 40,000 points.

Have never tried for a retention offer before, usually if I'm cancelling a card there's a reason and no amount of sweet talk is getting me to keep it. However, I've been thinking about churning my SW card. I haven't put much spend on it in the last year because I got new cards. Most of the spend was in 2017, so in the last 12 months total spend was about $1,200 but I had a return so net was about $900. Last real activity was in March 2018, but since I was working off the return credit it doesn't even feel like activity to me.

This is the SW Premier card, I've had it for at least 5 years, and it gets activity each year. What's the guestimate on if I get a retention offer, and any speculation on what it could be? If it could pay the fee I'd hang on to it as it's not doing me any harm then. I don't think it would hurt to close it either, for AAoA it's in the middle of the pack and I got my IHG card around the same time so I have steady accounts. Part of me is actually thinking of cancelling it since hubby has the SW Plus (for now), I have several other no FTF's cards now, and I've definitely got my anniversary points. Am I right in thinking there's no benefit to keeping it if we hang on to hubby's Plus until I pick it up again?

My only fear is they drop the Premier and replace it with the Priority. I'm not sure why they have 4 cards, there wasn't much difference between the Plus and Premier other than # of anniversary points and the no FTF's for the extra $30 in AF. But I'd rather have the Premier than the Priority as I don't think the Plus is a good value for the AF and the Priority doesn't really work with our flying habits. So I'm all over the place. :)

Not always, it rotates. It's been the statement credit for a while now but I've seen it with a points offer before. I think when they do the increased points I saw that pop up on the SW pages. But mostly on the page where you're pricing out flights it's been some type of statement credit more often than not. (from what I remember)

Do you ever wonder if any of the companies you pay bills with think you're insane? Just realized I have seven different credit cards stored in my internet provider account...:rotfl2:

I had a PayPal issue when adding my Biz Plat and had to call into customer service. The rep remarked, I see you've added and deleted a lot of different credit cards recently.

For a while there people were reporting retention offers all over the place, so much so that I had decided when my turn came - won't be until October - that I would try for a retention offer.

In your situation - hubby has one - and you want a specific one - if your 0/24 is okay with it, churn it and get the 40K or is it 50K inflight?

I'm probably going to cancel mine as it has a nice chunk of my credit line attached. I will cancel it and the Disney card as my next card once I'm back under 5/24 will be the CIP or CIC, depending on my spending ability at the time. Right now that is January, unless I do something really impulsive again. I want to lower my number of Chase cards as well as total credit line attached to Chase, so that I have space for new UR cards, while keeping all my free night cards.

Thank you! I’ll be honest I’m one of those people who likes to know 100% what I’m getting into before I even open the first page. Obvi that would’ve been clear if I’d tried it myself but I wanted to go into it the first time like an expert. Clearly I am not. Thanks for your help :)

Yeah, that's the other part of the equation - I'm at 4/24 right now. So I've got one slot left :) Been debating about using it to churn the SW this year or pick up the SPG personal card and then get the SW card next year. (After May 2019 I'll be back to 4/24) Original plan was to cancel hubby's Plus when it came up for renewal since we don't need two (we only got it for the free points they offered) but I keep feeling like we should have at least one at all times. No earthly reason why since I didn't get any drink coupons this year :( (For sure the last set was from having the card, I found the envelop and it still had the letter with it thanking me for having the card and here have some drinks on us :) ) If I keep a Sapphire card it does all the same stuff for us... I think it's just hard to let go

It seems most here were offered $99 for the SW premiere. I called and was offered $49 so I closed mine. Would rather churn it anyways if I can :)

Just called and my 30 days changed to Congrats! I'm now the proud owner of a Marriott Biz! Still on the fence about the Spg biz. I'll probably end up going for it too but just not looking forward to another Amex :crazy2:
:cool1::banana::cheer2::banana::cool1:

All that stressing for nothing, congrats!

If you can swing 5k on AmEx, 100k plus no AF isn't shabby. But given your struggles with AmEx I can feel the reluctance.

There is a RMN $15 back on $30 office depot/office max online purchase. Any DP's if this works on GC's? They sell Disney online.

FYI for anyone doing the PNC bank bonus, keep an eye out for an extra offer to setup online bill pay:
https://www.doctorofcredit.com/targeted-15-paying-two-bills-pnc/

I usually hold out doing things until I get an incentive for it, but like a dope I did an online bill pay from my PNC account so I'm not expecting to be targeted. But for my Citizens I did get a postcard to set up 3 online bill pays on the new account and get an extra $50. That showed up 2-3 weeks after I opened it. I finished those the other week so I'm just waiting for the 2 bonuses to post now.

I have motion sickness (have tried Bonine also with mixed results). What I find interesting is that ToT and GotG do not make me sick yet Star Tours, Mission Space and Soarin make me want to yak. This is why I haven't gone on a cruise. I've thrown up on boats before and almost on planes so I'm terrified to be stuck on a ship for days...! And just so you gals who have not had dc know...my motion sickness was fairly mild before children...and got worse after having babies. Not sure if that is normal or not.

ETA: I say I tried Bonine but it was just meclizine.

I have a friend that comes with me to Disney. She has motion sickness to the point that she is unable to sit in the bak seat of a vehicle. She has had remarkable success with something called motioneaze. This must be some kind of essential oil. She rubs a drop across her forehead and behind each ear about 30 min before a ride. She has been able to ride all the roller coasters with this.
This has been wonderful for her as she is bringing each of her grandchildren for their Disney trip. She gets this at Walmart.
