I love credit cards so much!

I have motion sickness (have tried Bonine also with mixed results). What I find interesting is that ToT and GotG do not make me sick yet Star Tours, Mission Space and Soarin make me want to yak. This is why I haven't gone on a cruise. I've thrown up on boats before and almost on planes so I'm terrified to be stuck on a ship for days...! And just so you gals who have not had dc know...my motion sickness was fairly mild before children...and got worse after having babies. Not sure if that is normal or not.

ETA: I say I tried Bonine but it was just meclizine.

We just got back from WDW and your DD is right ...BEST RIDE EVER.... our whole family loved it and we rode it 4 times during the week. Our longest wait was 57 mins, but we had 2 FP+, and rope dropped one day. Absolutely awesome.

On the other hand, what the heck did they do to Soarin' (we've been away from WDW for 6 years) - boring, shoddily put together, complete waste of time now.

I really, really enjoyed FOP, though I did get a bit sicky feeling from it. I still loved it. I think what I am having trouble rationalizing is missing MK completely just for this one attraction (unless I have misunderstood @speedyfishy). FOP is not *that* great, imo, to miss all the mountains in MK and POTC, HM, JC, PP, IASW, CoP, PeopleMover, Buzz etc. I guess since I grew up on MK, a Disney trip isn't complete to me without a trip to MK. It's my first love and I have to start and end a trip there :love:However, if speedyfishys sister didn't grow up on MK, maybe it's no big deal to skip it. Having teens, I do see how technology and rides are so different today and appeal to them differently. FOP is awesome, no doubt! It isn't my fav ride of all time but I could see how it would be for many! It's the way rides will be for future.

ETA: FWIW, my teens fav park is MK! Crazy, I know :D

Thanks to @Lain and the self-referral instructions I have 2 more AmEx (charge) cards . . . instant approval for the BRG and Green cards means that AmEx probably likes me enough not to initiate a financial review, right?

Also, I'm aware that the multiple tab thing no longer works for saving multiple AmEx offers for the same name/SSN but AUs are still working, is that correct (different name/SSN than the primary card holder)? I probably should add some AUs to my cards . . .

So happy to read this! Yes, we were able to add the Staples Amex Offer to my wife's PRG AU and have it stick when it disappeared from all my other cards after I added that offer to my MB Plat first. Seems to be one offer per person (name/ssn). Different person (name/ssn) who are AUs on your card can also add the same offer if targeted.

BIL this weekend: Oh I bought the tickets on Tuesday (came in Saturday afternoon, leaving late tonight - also he didn't tell us until Thursday) so it wasn't that bad, it was only like $500 :faint:

Alright, this is a route that should easily be under $300 RT but whatever...

Just catching up... we spent the weekend in NYC at the Hyatt Union Square (25k per night). Nice hotel that's really well located, but the rooms are really small and the beds weren't great. I'll probably try the nearby W Union Square next time, because the area is very cool.

Also - we saw Stomp and Hamilton! A good weekend indeed.

@striker1064 and anyone else using possibly Pepco in the DC/Md/Va area. Last month I paid Pepco with a card for my bill. This month bill is $193 but I'm wanting to pay forward a couple months - maybe put $500 on it. Has anyone done that specifically with Pepco?

Editing to add: I created an online account with Pepco and was able to overpay with a credit card for $1.95. Not sure what they will do other than leave a credit on my account, but that was easy and I'm finished with Amtrak. I only had to put $355 on it once I checked the account.

Now, if I need to place more spend, I will probably have part of a month due in early September, and can use this method to finish off another card if it works (for 1.95).

Good to know! We do have Pepco but I've never tried to overpay. Not a fan if giving the utility company more money if I can help it. I wiped out my Amtrak card with a BMO Harris bank account (can fund up to $1k, so that's done).

Bonine is meclizine and there are some dramaine's that are meclizine and some that use other stuff. So it is sometimes the same thing as dramamine but not all stores carry both. Target's by me don't have the dramamine with meclizine just the other stuff. I use meclizine for an inner ear issue that causes dizziness and vertigo if it gets bad. If you have a Kroger they sell their generic 8 pills for 1.99, at least that's what it is here. I buy it off Amazon for a lot more tablets for I think 5 or 6 but that's also because I always need to have it on hand.

However, it does let me ride ToT. That ride gets to my stomach because of the up and down.

As a frequent suffer of both motion sickness and vertigo, I have lots of experience here.

YMMV for everyone, but Dramamine seems to be the only reliable thing that gets me through motion sickness. For bouts of vertigo, meclizine is better. Meclizine can be found as Bonine, or marketed as off-brand "less drowsy Dramamine." Wal-Dram at Walgreens is the first one that comes to mind, but I've also seen it at CVS. A doctor once told me Dramamine is typically better for motion sickness, but of course it makes you sleepy so it's not ideal for a Disney vacation. Unfortunately, meclizine just does not work for me for anything like that - flying, boating, nothing. It only works for vertigo spells.

Yeah, it’s either FOP and probably won’t have time for MK or MK and no FOP unless we get really lucky with a fastpass. I hate short trips lol.

DH and I are looking to go Aruba next year. The Marriott is currently a Cat 9 and will be going from 45k to 50k a night under the new chart. Any idea on how this would work if I purchased a night and flights (Cat 1-5) package? Can I attach that cert to the hotel or do I need to purchase the Cat 9 cert now? And is there somewhere I can locate the # of points needed for those packages?

If I were you I would stick with the Epcot and AK on Saturday and EMH at HS you could be done with everything by 10 am. Then head to MK. Or you could do MK after Epcot since they are easier to travel between. Do you care to see any particular night time show? That would give you fireworks at MK, which I think is the best night time show, but I know that varies for everyone.

ETA I am one that doesn't think FOP is that great. But we did it two different days at rope drop.

Asking for Plastiq help with the CiP. We have Wells Fargo mortgage which seems like it will be hard to disguise. Any suggestions. I read the r/dischurner explanation but am having trouble putting it into practice. Do I call to find out which cashier in terms of the “attn cashier name” suggestion?

Also, is there a Plastiq member referral code list?

I haven't seen all your posts on this, so sorry if this isn't relevant - but couldn't you rope drop FOP and then head over to MK to use your FP+? Our experience last week for a 9am opening (No EMH) - arrive at AK 7:55, gates opened 8:12, held at bridge until 8:27 (about 30 people in front of us) - Rode FOP and off to next ride by 8:51.

Just for comparison - earlier in the week, we arrived at AK @ 8:20 - gates were already open and there was about 300 people in front of us at the bridge - we decided not to ride FOP then as we had FP+ for later that day. Again, they opened Pandora early - we rode Navi and were done by 8:45.

@wendow - I suspect you may be right that this is the future of all rides, but I would be very sad - what makes FOP so great is that it is a leap forward in 4D ride experience, Just like HP Forbidden Journey was when that came out - but there is a limit. At Universal Studios, I was really disappointed by the replication of their rides - Transformers is Spiderman rehashed, Minions and Jimmy Fallon basically the same, FnF same ride as Skull Island with less effects and movement. None of those I would be interested in riding again.

I haven't done mortgages, so I'm no great help there. But are you asking to use someone's referral link to sign up for Plastiq? Some of us have those listed on the Other thread on dischurners.

Silly Plastiq. Trying to add DHs car loan to it, it's a PO Box. Typed in address, it tells me it may be undeliverable as is, here's what they suggest: exactly what I typed but in all capital letters.

That has been my experience with all 3 of my Plastiq transactions.

This is what is listed on the the Dischurner site for Wells Fargo

Wells Fargo
Recipient Name: "Attn: Cashier Wells"

I think you also have to put in Utility or some other category than real estate. I have Wells Fargo but have not attempted to pay through Plastiq.

The Official Misc thread is where the links for Plastiq are.

Can't remember if I posted here the other day about one of my horse show companies charging the incorrect credit card. They had my CSP in their Quickbooks from where they charged it for the same thing last year and charged that instead of my Hilton Amex! I e-mailed and they got it straight and reversed the charge, which showed up this morning. I was then thinking to myself that I'd rather now have the charge go on my Citi AA biz since I'm only $300 away from finishing Hilton and can do that at BBY. I called in just now to ask them to please charge the Citi card and I'm glad I did, because they weren't going to run the Hilton card for another two weeks until this girl got back from a horse show!! That would've been cutting it reallyyyyy close to my MSR date.

Thanks! These are good suggestions for me to consider. I love happily ever after, but my sister is more focused on the rides than shows.

Hmm this is a good idea too. We are arriving Saturday and only have Sunday morning but maybe we can fit Ak in the AM and then hop to Hollywood.

Here is the chart for the current certificate. You need to get a Cat 9 now and attach it now before the merge, you want to take advantage of the lower points needed.

We just got a Cat 1-5 on Friday, were told that we wouldn't be able to modify the package in the future. I'm still not sure if I'm going to attach it to a hotel or leave it floating.

the retail me not offers.... Dp's verifing a gc purchase either ins tore or online at walgreens works? what about staples online offer? I'm wanting gc's for the staples especially.... or the bed bath beyond online? gc's or no?

Neither Dramamine or Bonine seem to help me at all. I use the patch when we sail (and this upcoming cruise is known to have rough seas and I'm really worried even that won't be enough). I have slight issues riding things like the monorail and some of the dark rides. I rode 7DMT one time, while still wearing the patch just off a Disney cruise and never again. I'm glad it works for you though - DD says FOP is amazing and I believe her.

We took our first cruise during a hurricane, and we had really rough seas. My dd and I thought we would die on a sail boat in Mexico, with Meclizine and Ginger. But on our cruise, we both wore the patch and we were great! Not an ounce of nausea!!! On our second cruise, she had issues with the super dry mouth, but I have never had a problem with it, and used in San Fran for driving up to the woods and flying to England and plan to use it for FOP as well LOL.

ToT doesn't bother me at all. Mission Space I would NEVER EVER even try LOL. Star Tours I used to be able to do with Meclizine, but now I usually just skip it. EE I can only ride in the front, the back does me in. Space Mountain I can do, but if it were any longer I would be in serious trouble. Soarin doesn't bother me at all either. I am a little afraid of FoP, but hoping the patch doesn't fail me :-)
