I love credit cards so much!

For the double dip, do I need a chrome incognito browser for both apps or just the second one? Is it the same effect if I use a different device, say a pc and an iPad, or two different PCs? Also, how much time should be allowed to complete the process? I forgot I have a meeting this afternoon so maybe I should do this tomorrow AM since I have more flexibility. :confused3:scared: Sorry for all the questions. I guess I’m getting nervous

I need help to decide which card to apply for tomorrow. Either I will join @LB002 and go for the double dip or I will apply for the CIP using DH’s referral. I would like to do both this year, as soon as safely possible. Which one is best to start with? I need all 3 sign up bonuses plus the CSR multiplier to use for my holiday wdw trip in December. Being 0/24 with no Chase history, is it better to start with the DD or the CIP? If it makes no difference, do you think there would be a better offer later this year for the CSR/CSP? If I get the CSR now, I could definitely use the $300 travel credit next month plus then I could pool DH’s CIP/CIC points. But the DD process is a bit scary compared to the CIP. :crazy2::scared:

Also, I booked a package with Disney and plan to transfer it to Chase within 30 days. Based on my understanding, I will be able to earn UR points and pay with them, plus GCs, and any balance 30 days before check in day. Do you all agree? I can spend the next 6 months earning UR and collecting GCs and pay it all off in a one-time combined payment? DH keeps telling me to double check on this cause he thinks I’m crazy, lol. :rotfl:
From my understanding, you can only pay using UR points once to pay for your vacation. What I don’t know is if you can hold off payments until the balance is due or if you have to pay with UR points when the transfer takes place.

Incognito for the second app. If you want to play it safe, you can even clear your history/cache/cookies from the first app.

Yes, you can achieve the same effect by using browsers on two devices.

How much time depends on whether you'll get insta-approved. If your app goes pending, you can decide to wait maybe an hour or two to see if it auto-approves by checking the automated line, or call into recon. Same choice with both apps, but don't wait too long to call into recon if you have to because you need to get both apps approved by today.

ETA: Chase Credit Card Reconsideration. Personal: 1-888-270-2127, open: 8am-10pm Monday to Friday. 8am-8pm Saturday & Sunday. The verification department may have different hours.

You can use 2 different browsers, 2 different devices or chrome and chrome incognito, whatever is easier for you.

Had my budget meeting with my reluctant player 2 and he's now somewhat less reluctant. In any case, he is on board for the Sapphire double dip. So I did the CSR first - instant approval, then the CSP via incognito and got the 30 day message.

I'm guessing it has to do with credit lines - the app asked if he wanted to consider other sources of income, I said no. I didn't realize how high a limit he had on his southwest card, and they gave him a pretty high limit on the CSR too, so I'm guessing that is the problem. I probably should have reduced the credit line on his SW before I did the application. Anything I can do about that now, or just wait for denial and ask for reconsideration?

Anyway, I'm happy about the CSR for him - esp. since they usually show up quickly and I have some spend I'm holding until I have a new card to use!

If you book a trip with Disney and pay the $200 deposit with them, you can transfer to Chase and pay with URs when the balance is due. However, if you just book straight with Chase, you must use all your URs one time at the time of booking. This isn't Disney-specific from the way agents have made it sound to me either- any vacation you book directly through Chase must use all URs upfront. Transferring in reservations is the only way to get around that.

I'd call in and ask specifically about your CSP application (or you might need him to call). We've had a lot of people here have success calling in on double dips lately.

DH is an AU on my CSP. Do I need to remove him before I refer him? All of his other cards are over 10 years old. I want to refer him to CSP and downgrade mine which is up for renewal next month. We (hopefully) close on our house in 2 weeks and as soon as that's done, like same or next day lol, I want to get him started. I'm leaning toward not getting him the CSR and dealing with a double dip and increased MSR and will likely just keep mine.
Sounds like he’s under 5/24, so you don’t have to go through the hassle of removing him.

Costco takes Disney GCs, Visa or Mastercard even after booking.

ETA I paid the deposit with DCL when I booked online. Then transferred to Costco. Everything else is paid to Costco. The Paid in Full date for Costco is a week or two before Disney PIF date, so they make sure everything goes thru by Disney’s date.
!!!!! What? That is awesome...... I had no idea......

Did you already do the double dip? Almost every DP says you need to get the CSR and CSP approved on the same day.

He can call and ask what he can do to move the app along as you have upcoming expenses. He should specify the csp app and not mention the Csr app. They can move the CL and approve it, assuming that is the issue.

I'm officially done with using hotels.com for anything. Had an awful experience with the last trip and this past weekend's trip looks like it will need divine intervention too :sad2: I had booked a room for us and then found a cheaper rate at the same hotel, so I cancelled the first room and rebooked. When I checked into the hotel, they had me down for two reservations. I told the clerk I should only have one reservation so he just checked me in for one of them and canceled the other. Well, now the HIGHER rate I canceled is posted to my credit card, and the lower rate is showing as pending. Hopefully it will drop off. Either way, I'm done with them. I was supposed to have two more hotel stays at the same location this year but I now have an opportunity to split an Airbnb with somebody, so I'll just do that instead and save myself the money in the long run.

Sort of OT but really having a crappy day with the ex because according to angry texts messages from him I'm spoiling the kids and "trying to show them I have money." The truth is I don't "have money" (and he's never paid any support), I just manage my money well (including traveling on points). And I'm waiting on lab results from the vet on a growth removed from my fur baby last week.

Sorry :( My mom dealt with similar accusations from my dad- same situation. Very little support from him, she just budgeted for us. Keep us updated on your fur baby!

Thanks very much - I hadn't really zeroed in on the urgency of getting it through today. Just left DH a message to give me a call and I will tell him to call recon. I tried to call the automated line, but it transferred me to a live person instead of an automated line, so I hung up, figuring they wouldn't talk to me. Testing his will as Player 2 already :teeth:

Hi everyone. Been away for awhile busy making ms on my new Ink :). I did downgrade my CSP to a Freedom a few weeks ago. What is the current bonus category amd when does the next quarter start? Sorry, I'm sure its somewhere on the Chase site but I have a hard time navigating there with this phone.

Current Freedom categories are Grocery stores, Chase Pay and PayPal. Next quarter starts July 1, don't know what those categories are yet, so you still have at least 4 weeks to go to town on this quarter.
