I love credit cards so much!

We have never been to DL. But if the rules are anything like DW and there is a $10 deposit for reservations, you may see many cancellations around 10:00 PM the night before you would want to eat. I have also found that I can sometimes break y party up into smaller groups and if reservations are at nearly the same time they will seat us together.
Hmm. DL isn't like WDW where you usually have to book months in advance, but character meals and BB can be tough. If you are a large party you could try making 2 reservations (split the group up) and then trying to combine them when you are there.

You know, we have only done this one time. It was at Tony's in MK. I actually called WDW dining and they told us they would most likely be able to seat us together. It was us plus my aunt and uncle. So, 8 total...I did two reservations for 4 at the exact same time. They literally seated us as far apart in the restaurant as they possibly could. I asked when we checked in and they said the tables were determined way ahead of time and there was no way to move anything. It is the one time I have been really disappointed in Disney's customer service. Since this is just us and the kids, I'm afraid to risk it.

Keep checking. It's likely something will open up. We have really enjoyed the breakfast at Storytellers, but they only have Chip, Dale, and I think the characters from Brother Bear there. I've heard from friends and the podcast (but haven't experienced it myself) that the Plaza has the best
I will keep checking. We are a larger family so we always have trouble getting reservations anyways. It's my fault for putting this off for so long. Life was just so busy and we weren't sure if we were definitely going...and now...AHHH! It's almost here!

We loved Minnie's when we were there in February. Lots of fun character interactions. We sang with Max, my 9 year old had a jumping contest with tigger, Captain Hook was terrified of our tick tock, chip and Dale were fighting over who was our favorite and more! I've heard that you can try and walk up without a reservation also, but I haven't tried it.

I wonder if one of those conceir cc services could get you anything at Disney dining?

Hmm, I don't know! I've never used any of those services and I'm not even sure if I have any CC that offers that. I may try to look into that though.

Great to hear how fun it was! We will definitely try the walk-up thing!

Sooo, for my plastiq mortgage debacle...

I was going in to schedule DD's fall college tuition under the 1.75% promo (have to send series of at least 3, all sent by 7/31, all scheduled by 5/31). So I broke it up into 3 weekly payments, starting 7/17. Pretty excited about that money maker. Last year's tuition was pre-plastiq for me so I paid from checking to avoid the cc fee. :crazy2::mad::rolleyes2

Anyway, while I was in there I noticed that the monthly mortgage that got declined for my June payment is still scheduled for the rest of the payments. They didn't cancel the series. So you think I just let it ride and see what happens with the July payment? :rolleyes1I was also wondering if splitting it into 2 small payments might bet less obvious than a large payment going out the door with a deliver by date of the 1st of the month. :ssst:Thoughts? I was just suprised the gal that caught in and stopped it for June didn't cancel the whole series.

I would be tempted to let it ride also and see what happens...I'm terrified to make my July payment...June already went through. I hold my breath every month lol!

I may do that. I send a couple thousand dollars thru plastiq each month aside from mortgage so I am making them money. I don’t think they’d shut me down, esp since it isn’t like I went in and added it again. Worst case they shut me down and I open a new account as DH.

We told our kids about the DLR/Legoland trip tonight! They are super excited (well, my girls are excited about DL...meh about Legoland), especially since it's so close. We normally tell them about WDW when we are like 200 days out lol.

Can I ask a couple questions here since several of you know DL very well? We normally do one character breakfast. Is there one you would recommend? I'd love for my kids to get to meet some different characters than we typically do at WDW. We will be there June 20-23. Not sure how early all these book up there.

Also, we have one magic morning since we have 4-day tix. Is it better to use it for DL or DCA?
Fun, fun, FUN!! I didn't know the trip was a surprise for the kids...how exciting! If the girls aren't thrilled by LEGOLAND, consider adding on the water park...the lazy river and wave pool are my favorites.

I think someone already mentioned that magic morning is only for Disneyland Park, not DCA. And, you can only get into DL early on Saturday, Tuesday and Thursday.

I have only done Minnie's breakfast at the Plaza Inn and Goofy's Kitchen. Minnie's is the only one inside the park and has the most characters. When I was there we saw Fairy Godmother, Minnie, Capt. Hook, Rafiki, Chip, Dale, Tigger, Pooh, and Eeyore. As others have mentioned, keep checking since people do cancel. When I was there they also were taking walk-ups, so you might get lucky. We did Goofy's just a few months ago. They had a better selection of food, but the only characters were Goofy, Minnie, Chip, Dale and Pluto. There are two new character breakfasts starting in mid-June I think, one with Donald at the Paradise Pier Hotel and a new one with Mickey at the Grand Californian.

Good luck, and don't give up on those reservations!

ETA: I was wrong about the new character breakfasts, they don't start up until July 10th.

But only early I would say. The constant complaint from that meal is from people seated towards the end because at the end characters are rushed and being escorted away as breakfast wraps, even though people are still being seated for the very end.

The girls knew we were trying to put something together but we kept having to tell them we didn't know since things have been kind of up-in-the-air for us. The boys were aware awhile back but forgot really lol!

So, if our park days are Wed, Thurs, Fri and Sat and Sat is the day Pixar Pier opens, should we use the EMM for DL on Thursday? I feel like this is what you told me before but I didn't go back and read the pm :)

Oh good to know! My dh wants the breakfast lol but if it doesn't open up and we just meet him in Fantasyland, that would be awesome too!
I often see Hook in Fantasyland. Keep an eye on the app, it will tell you where the characters will be and their times. In Fantasyland a lot of them are just roaming though. I have also seen Peter Pan, Gaston, the Evil Queen, Mad Hatter and Alice, Mary Poppins and Bert. MH and Alice did stop and let us take a picture with them. They were sweet.

Carnation Café is good for breakfast too, if you can't get into Minnies. It might be worth making a reservation there as a back up. You won't actually be charged the $10 fee unless you cancel within 24 hrs or don't show up.

Really? So don't book like at 10:30 or so? That is when we like to go...right as the masses of people start entering the park and we've been there since RD...

So excited to meet Mary & Bert and the Evil Queen! I'm probably most excited about the unique character interactions.

That's right, Thu would make the most sense if you're doing Pixar Pier on Sat.

CSR & US Bank Altitude have access to Visa Infinite Conceirge. Other cards might as well if they say “VISA Infinite” on the card. My suspicion is if they’re able to get Disney reservations it’s the best kept secret on the internet, but there’s no harm trying if you have access to them.

Actually reminds me I used the Visa Infinite Conceirge for the first time today! I wanted a dining reservation next week Sunday at a popular brunch place in NOLA but they were booked until 2pm (when brunch ends!). I requested a 1pm reservation with the Visa Conceirge and they checked their system for the restaurant, said they could look into that one and then said they could contact the restaurant right then and could I wait a few mins on hold. I did and they came back and said they could get a 1:30pm. Idk if I could have swung it by calling on my own but I really wanted it so I decided to have the conceirge service try first. I got an email a few mins later confirming my res. FWIW the number Chase gave me for them was 1 (877) 660-0905. I had to put in my CSR number and confirm my name and last 4 digits on card when the conceirge came on so you need to have an active card & be the cardholder I think. It took about 5 mins on hold before the conceirge answered.

It can be- or it could have been? With its crapshoot nature I would try to stack the odds for the best experience but I just went hunting up the most recent discussions on it and I see some people absolutely swear the late ADRs are the BEST. So now that I’ve throughly confused both of us here’s the latest discussion on it: https://www.disboards.com/threads/will-we-be-rushed-with-a-10-20-plaza-inn-adr.3684294/ I can’t find the others right now but I know we’ve had discussions over there regarding some people very ticked off at their later in the day experiences. Maybe this is something that’s been fixed in the last year and that’s why I’m not really finding anything on it? Hope so! They do listen to feedback!

Sounds like a good new DP thread to start on dischurners :)
