I love credit cards so much!

I have a Discover card, 5% back this quarter at warehouse. Since no Discover cards st Costco I’ve been ordering $200 Costco GC @ Costco online where they do take Discover

ETA. Oops forgot even Costco in-line does not do AmEx
you can't do online orders using amex at costco? I thought you could

I'm not sure how much help this is to anyone but if you have an BoA card with BankAmeriDeals I'm seeing a 10% back at Lowe's up to $12 back maximum on one transaction good through 3/20/2018.
Wish I did...but I have Supercuts on there for 5% back, max $2!

Been reading about the 100k in-branch CIP offer on Reddit and was wondering if anyone has had any success having a "business" and getting approved? Was thinking of taking a chance, but don't want to ruin my chances if the odds are better submitting an app online.

Trying to build up as much UR as possible as me and SO are planning to go to Tokyo this year. Right now I have both SW cards and CSR (3/24). CIP would be the next best option, right? Or am I missing another Chase product that has better benefits? I'm also unable to apply for CSP as I already have CSR, right?
Yes. CIP first. No, can't get CSP. Personally I wouldn't go the BRM route with a "business" since I wouldn't want to answer all the questions in person. But, yes I have seen DPs of people who successfully got the BRM offer with a "business". At the same time not all BRMs will meet with a "business", just depends on the one in your area. IF you can track one down, I've also seen people who have found themselves meeting with a normal biz banker, despite requesting the BRM & those don't have access to the 100K offer. You could refer your SO after getting the card bagging the 80K bonus offer + 20K for the referral = 100K on that one.

Ok, I'm ready to apply for the biz spg, but I think I read a few days ago that the bonus on the spg is supposed to go up next month, is that right? So I should wait? Does anyone remember seeing that or the source? Thanks!
I did it last week b/c I can't swing the higher spend for the bigger bonus...

The thinking* is that because that is when they increased the offer last year it will increase that time this year. The * is since we know the CC line is changing up in 2018 we don't know if the cards will continue to be offered in their same form. DoC thinks the SPG Biz will stay here: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/spg-marriott-cards/ but remember these are just his guesses on what will happen. Personally I jumped on the SPG Biz earlier this year but am waiting to see if they up the personal SPG offer. (Went Biz because I was ready to meet a spend but didn't want another account showing on my credit report.)

I used my Hyatt Visa to get grocery gift cards a local grocery store and see my $30 statement credit came through today. I can see no reason it wouldn’t work purchasing Disney gift cards

Did you do it in all one spend? I'm seeing some posts from other online sites people have
not received it. I'm wondering if it depends if you did the whole 300 once or on different days?

Wow, this thread moves fast! I was busy and didn't check it for about a week, and came back to what seemed like 100 new pages! LOL. I gave up on catching up and just skimmed the last few pages, so apologies if I've missed anything that pertains to what I'm about to post/ask.

We recently finished the MSR on my wife's CSR/CSP double dip she did in Dec. (CSP bonus posted already and CSR bonus is pending for next statement, woohoo!) Then I had her apply for the IHG card so our free nights will line up in the future (these cards will be keepers for both of us) and she was instantly approved. We'll be able to knock out that MSR quickly since it's only $1K. Now I'm trying to decide which card to go for next for myself. Here's what I have/had already:

AmEx Blue Cash, Disney, Amazon, Freedom: all 8+ years old
IHG: 2/16
CSP: 3/16 (just PC'd to Freedom Unlimited)
BofA Amtrak World: 12/16 (closed in 12/17)
CSR: 5/17
CIP: 9/17

So I'm currently at 3/24, and will be down to 2/24 when the CSP drops off next month. This makes me feel like I should go for more Chase cards, but the only one I'm really interested in that I don't already have is Marriott since it will probably be going away soon. I could also do Hyatt or British Airways but those aren't high on my list of wants. Also, if I did the personal Marriott or Hyatt I'd want DW to apply for one at the same time so the free nights would line up, and I think she should slow down with Chase since she's now gotten 3 cards with them in less than 3 months. (We don't fly SW or United so I'm not interested in those.) I could do Marriott Biz though.

Outside of Chase, I am interested in getting into SPG points since I don't have any of those yet & from what I've read here they are very versatile/useful. I could do the SPG Biz first since that won't affect my 5/24 for Chase, but is 25K for $5K spend a good offer for that or does it ever go higher?

I also want to have a JetBlue card in hand before we fly with them again in July, and the bonus on the Plus ($99 AF) version is up to 40K points. (I think it was 30K previously.) I'm leaning toward just doing the JB card now even though it will use up one of my 5/24 slots since there aren't many other Chase cards I want and I'd hate to miss out on the extra 10K JB points.

Any thoughts/suggestions? Our trips for this year are already covered, so I'm just looking to build up some useful point balances while we decide on next year's trips. We're thinking about a snow trip (Poconos, most likely) for February break and London in the summer. I just hate that the taxes/fees are so high on award flights from the US to London, so I'd have to figure that out. Would those code as travel for the CSR credit? If I could get $300 off the taxes that way it might be doable.

Ok. So had a trip booked for the 4 of us on August to Aruba. Just cancelled it. Asked the kids (DS19 and DD16) if they would rather go to Aruba or go on a few different shorter trips. They voted on the shorter trips. DS is going on a Mission Trip in June and they both are counselors for a week at camp in July, so really did not want to have another week off of work for them.

I have the CP (DD is my companion right now). DH will be getting the CP end of month and will put DS as his companion. So, until the end of the this year - both kids fly free. So, want to make use of this with some fun - long weekend trips.

This is what we will have in points once all rewards are posted.

SW - 228,451
UR - 128,00
Marriott - 390,995 or SPG 130,331

I kind of like to hoard points too and hate using them - but that is kind of the point of all of this. Also hate to only do 3 or 4 days when I know the 5th night is free at Marriott/SPG. So, will have to figure that out.

So, looking for fun places to go for long weekends (3-5 nights). Kids both are interested in California. Have not been there since High School. They want to go to Hollywood and Rodeo Drive . Any suggestions on where to fly into and where to stay would be great. Also maybe Seaworld or Universal or San Diego/San Fransisco. Open to options. I have just heard scary things about traffic/driving in California.

Also looking at possibly Maine or New York or Nashville or Texas. I know Disney and I know Cruises. That is it. The rest I am lost. We would be flying from Minneapolis. I would appreciate any ideas or feedback for locations/hotels to go to.

Thanks.

Anybody saying it's supposed to go up is guessing based on historical trends. There's also a risk that the card will be eliminated as part of the SPG/Marriott merger and the re-branding of the cards. Obviously you have to decide what's best for you. One thing to keep in mind is the increased offers also come with greatly increased min. spends.
  • The 25k point offer for $5k minimum spend is currently available online (or through DISchurners ;)).
  • The increased offer for 35k points that came out recently required a $10k minimum spend.

I just posted on the SPG Biz situation right above this, haha :). The 25k for $5k is a solid offer for sure. The higher points offers come with a higher min. spend but can be lucrative. Unfortunately there aren't any good reputable rumors right now about whether the offers will increase again or not.

I've always enjoyed a good weekend trip to Orlando for Seaworld or Universal. I know you don't have Hilton points but just figured I'd throw this out there for those interested: The Doubletree (Hilton) http://doubletree3.hilton.com/en/ho...rance-to-universal-orlando-MCOUNDT/index.html located here is walkable to Universal and at times can be booked for 25k Hilton points a night :)

Sorry that doesn't directly help you at all though, haha. I'd just been meaning to post about this and your comment reminded me of it.

We went to San Francisco/Oakland for the first time last year (thank you, SW CP!) and loved it there. One day, we walked along the length of the wharf and took a 2 hour bay cruise that went around Alcatraz and under the Golden Gate Bridge. The SF MOMA was outstanding, too. The one thing I didn't do that I wanted to was the Disney Family Museum. It looks amazing. We just had so many other plans with various friends that we couldn't devote enough time to go there, which is one reason we're planning another trip back this year (thank you again, SW CP!). That might be a lot of fun for your family.

Some things to think of, Marriott transfers to SPG @ 3:1. current Marriott cards are a pretty good deal. 75k No AF for the first year. theres also a 120k right now if your willing to do that minimum spendings.

As for just blue, highest offer was 60k, probably may be a good idea to wait if u want to wait. For now, id use the amazon route to earn 3x.

I need to book flights: 2 on Delta and 1 on Jet Blue. Should I use the CSR for 3X travel and card travel protections or buy gift cards using Freedom at 5X to pay for the flights?

Thoughts??

I went on Colorado.gov/renewplates and only see MC, visa and Discover options. You used Amex?
Yeah... I just went through the process and put in my AMEX. It was around $10 in fees but I didn't have any issues. It was on Jan 26th.

I'm back on their site now. I had stopped reading after the beginning of the paragraph. Thanks for mentioning you used Amex cause I'm gonna try it. Here is the verbage, which is confusing, but looks like may work:
