Quick q:

How quickly do rejections take effect and what are the repercussions?
Ex. Say I were to get rejected for the CIP and recon bears no fruit. Is getting the CSR or even the CSP still possible that day, or does a rejection completely lock you out for a certain period?

(would hate to have a CIP denial mess up other apps if CSR would have worked but now won't)

Concern here...My CF payment is due the 21st. And I'm sure I'm the only one but here it is, I mailed my "check payment" (yep paper) on the 9th. They still don't have it. :headache:And I sent another card payment the same day and it was credited by the 12th.

I'm thinking I will have to make a payment online and have never done this. Certainly don't want it to be late. Never had an issue with checks. But how is it making a payment by way of online? Am I just going to have to link my checking account basically? Thanks

Yep, and you can setup a payment right away once you input your bank info. Personally, I've not had any issue with setting up the payment date as the due date, it'll post on the due date and withdrawal from your checking account the next business day. You can also cancel your online payment before it starts processing so if your check posts before your online payment, you can go in and cancel it and not have to worry about a double payment.

Been reading about the 100k in-branch CIP offer on Reddit and was wondering if anyone has had any success having a "business" and getting approved? Was thinking of taking a chance, but don't want to ruin my chances if the odds are better submitting an app online.

Trying to build up as much UR as possible as me and SO are planning to go to Tokyo this year. Right now I have both SW cards and CSR (3/24). CIP would be the next best option, right? Or am I missing another Chase product that has better benefits? I'm also unable to apply for CSP as I already have CSR, right?

suspectingly. current 3 triggers i see now is
LOL/24, apply for cobrand (reddit DP)
4/12, mainly chase cards (reddit/flyertalk)
2/3, mainly chase cards (flyertalk)

also to note, 4/12, seems like many get their accounts back. LOL/24 and 2/3 do not.
**Note** these are my predictions.
2 cards in 3 months?

Yes apply for CIP first. They have the rule of no other cards in 30 days. I have never heard of rejection locking you out but I guess it’s possible. And I am not an expert. This thread moved fast today and I am just catching up but I think the plan of focusing on UR points first and not airline miles is good. You can use the UR points to pay for Disney rooms. That is what I did last trip.

I feel everyone’s pain with Costco. If you return stuff they will put it on a Costco cash card. After a fraud with my FU (double charge on some returns) that is what I have started to do.

Yes. You will have to link your bank account to the credit card. Go to the payments page of the CF and it will have a place to link your bank account by putting your routing number in and account number. You should be able to wait until a couple days before it is due because payments process fast. I would not wait until the day it is due in case something goes wrong, you need a little wiggle room on your first payment so a couple days should be fine.

Idk what to do about the check you lost in the mail though. If Chase gets it they might process it and you'd have a credit on the account, I'm just not sure, might need to do a stop payment on the check?

you can apply after rejection. CIP needs to go first though, CIP requires 0/30(no app in 30 days) while CSR/CSP rule is 2/30. You should bundle the CSR with the CSP though, as it has a 1 Sapphire per card holder rule, but that is overlooked when you apply at the same time.

If you have a "business" and not business, it might be better to apply online. When you go into a branch, they will ask questions, if the banker doesnt like some of the answers, then you might not get the card. Make sure when your doing this route, you find a actually Business Manager and not some random person. I should be a paper app, not digital. You may need to call your local Chase bank to make an appointment with one.

correct, 2 cards in 3 months. last DP was someone who applied for the 2 SW cards at once, still in review... It seems to happen with Co brands more often...

I noticed that too on the shutdown threads that it's almost always the co-branded cards. I think it was @SouthFayetteFan who pointed out that it's typically the people over 5/24 going for the co-branded cards and more apt to get shutdown by Chase.

Got the renewal for our van's registration today...~$450...Guess who doesn't take Amex :headache: Thinking about trying to use Plastiq.

ETA: Cannot pay with plastiq cause you have to mail in the physical renewal card if mailing a check :( Yet another cost I cannot put on Amex. Not liking Amex right now!

The co-brand thing is kind of a coincidence I think. It's basically because the only cards you can get once you are 5/24 are co-brands lol. Nobody is getting shutdown for a CSP over 5/24 cuz they know there's no shot they'd be approved anyways.

Thank you. Going to keep my fingers crossed for another day or so for the check to surface. But will probably set up payment info by tomorrow. I like that I can wait a bit in case thecheck shows up.

Linking the accounts sounds easy enough but I'll make sure to at least have the payment go through the day before the due date, if not 2 days. If Chase does get the check and it ends up a credit it can actually go towards next month balance since I'm still meeting the 5x bonus spend. Thanks for that.

The problem I have when booking SPG/Marriott is that you can get that 5th night FREE! So I find myself not wanting to use the points unless its on a longer stay so that I get the best use out of them. I just booked 1 night in Vancouver for this summer using my Marriott points, and I kinda feel guilty about it.

OMG, you just got us an extra day at DL! I had totally forgotten about this 5th night free situation with Marriott and booked 4 nights for my ods's 16th bday trip, but after being reminded by your post, I was able to change it to 5!

Oh no! I was able to use mine for my car registration online :(

Ok, I'm ready to apply for the biz spg, but I think I read a few days ago that the bonus on the spg is supposed to go up next month, is that right? So I should wait? Does anyone remember seeing that or the source? Thanks!

Also, just booked SW flights for our trip this summer to WDW for myself and the two kiddos using bonus points from my sw biz card:yay: now just have to wait a few weeks for stmt to close on sw premier so I can get my CP and add DH to the reservation! Can't wait to have the flights all settled. Also waiting for Universal to release AP rates for June. Been checking the Universal AP thread every day!

Plan is 2 nights at UO, 5 nights at VWL using dvc points (this us our first time staying there!), then 2 nights at vero beach (first time staying there too!). Also going to legoland sometime per the LO's request. Can't wait!
