I love credit cards so much!

Yippee! I couldn't get the $300/$600 offer to work so I just went on with the $400 offer.
Still a great deal!! Now we just have to wait for the savings bonus haha. I hit the deposit requirement on 1/10. Lets see if it actually takes 90 days!

I also have to change my work direct deposit back to only primary bank account. Chase doesn't need any more of my paycheck even if I only gave it $100 haha

My DH was instantly approved on 1/4 - and his account will STILL not come up online - he called, but they didn't see him in the system, so I got nervous. They told him to call when he got his card. It came in this weekend while we were out of town, and I still can't pull it up. I'm getting the error that the site doesn't recognize the device we are trying to log in from (although we tried the device used to apply/set up the account originally). It won't send a verification code, and won't progress to the screen when clicking on the link indicating we have a code already. So frustrating!!

I hope you get it worked out soon!
I had this happen to two friends... they had to call in to verify the card to set it up.
Now on our acct- I guess DH is gonna have to call in, no love at all in getting an employee card thru the site. Boo! Oh well he can sacrifice 5 minutes for this reward

Yes, it'll take the 90 days since that's the requirement for the savings bonus (keeping that balance for 90 days) BUT it's just as fast as the checking - the Tue after the account's been open for 90 days the bonus should hit. I just looked up our dates and we opened 3/2, 90 days was 5/31 (Wed), bonus posted 6/5 (the following Tue).

i feel like spg lux card is the only card worth keeping. probably gonna cancel my marriott and spg biz this year.

although spg has the 4x category, i find my citi typ is worth earning over it, also freedom card has gas category with chasepay saving u even more money (76 is $.10 off a gal, she’ll is $.05off a gal)
I just canceled my personal(and still feeling sad) but I don;t think it's useful to me anymore...I have to decide on my biz card

Thanks! I should see the bonus on 4/16 then. I set a reminder on my phone haha

All this talk on the checking bonuses has got me looking into them some more.

When you talk about a push from your regular account, does that mean you just go into bill pay or something as if you're paying the other bank?

I just received an email from Chase regarding my Amazon Visa with a special offer to earn 5X rewards on up to $10,000 in purchases in select categories which include Utilities, Insurance, Phone Service, and Cable between January 15 and April 15, 2019. I won't be able to max the offer but I'm going to prepay as much of these bills as I can.

You and me, girl, in the same boat :) As usual lol! I have the spg pers up this month (for dh) and his spg biz in March and then my spg pers and biz right behind those. I spent some time looking at resorts today that we could use the free nights at. There are lots of lovely options but most of what comes up on the blogs are int'l locations. That just isn't the season of life our family is in right now. I'm leaning towards cancelling the cards but I'm not wanting to get on Amex's bad side so really trying to find a valuable use for the FN certs so I can justify keeping the cards open for at least another year.

Yes we are, lol! Plus I feel like I'm forcing myself to find something. I can't remember, did we have to pay the fee on these cards the first year? @SouthFayetteFan is probably going to think I'm crazy that I do not have this info on a spreadsheet, lol. If we did, now I feel like we are paying double for the room since they don't give the free cert out in enough time to cancel. Ugh, I still don't know.

I pulled the trigger on a Disney GC. At this point it doesn't look to have tracked for me. What is it with me & Staples & RMN?!?

That's me and Kohl's. It's the only store that repeatedly doesn't track for me on RMN. Luckily I'm actually buying items and not GC's so I always get my money after sending in my receipt.

We've never used our FN certificates for anything international but they always come in handy for quick mostly unplanned getaways. We decided to go to WDW over Valentine's Day to forget about a certain "rite of passage" medical procedure I'm having for those of us who turn 50  :drinking1:sick: :faint: ... the joys of aging. Anyhow, only the Friday night was available for a DVC booking and we are wait listed for Saturday night. However, we were able to secure Saturday night with a FN certificate in case the wait list doesn't come through.

Sorry about the 'rite of passage' :scared1: I'd run away too!

Which property do you like best around wdw that is 35k per night? I know you have mentioned the Marriott village before but just wondering if there is another??

I am new to this, but each bank has different requirements for the bonuses. Some require a single "direct deposit" or "direct deposits" totaling a certain value in order to obtain the bonus. I put "direct deposit" in quotes because some ACH transfers will count as a direct deposit. DOC has a whole bunch of DPs on what transactions trigger the bonus for different banks. I am fortunate that my company lets me go in and easily switch DD around so I used part of my paycheck.

I am feel like I am forcing it too. We just don't travel that much, and if we do end up traveling to Orlando a lot later this year for dd's DCP, I know we are going to try for onsite if at all possible. I also still have 7 nights at a 35k property for the N&F cert that I am clueless what to do with. Maybe the Marriott village outside WDW...?

I cannot remember if we paid an AF also :D I don't keep track :lmao:

It's just a regular account to account transfer. But a "push" is setting up that transfer from the regular account and you're pushing money into the new account. If you were to "pull" money, that's setting up the transfer from the new account and pulling in money from outside. (hopefully that makes more sense and not less :p)

Transfers between banks usually use the ACH service the same as payroll processors. Some banks code that transfer the same way payroll does, so if you push into the new account from an existing account, it looks the same as if your employer pushed your paycheck to you. (to the automated system at least) It doesn't work for all banks and even if one regular account works for one bank it might not work for another. But it's just as simple as setting up an external transfer from one account to another.

true, but SPG gold could be helpful too. i still think 50k room is still easier to use than 35k room.
I canceled b/c I'm trying to simplify. I *could* find a 35k room to use, but I don't want to bother at this point, and since the card's doing nothing else for me since the merger(new points charts) it's gone. Simplifying is my reason.BTW they kindly sent me a check for the AF refund...:thumbsup2

I pushed mine via a direct transfer from my personal checking to Chase checking. SecruityPlus sent a couple of small deposits, I had to verify those deposit amounts and the accounts were linked to be able to transfer between.

its cuz the 50k link doesnt earn TPG any miles... so u will never see him post it.
Without the 50k link, this is just the normal way of doing it though...
I'm just not getting all of the 'logic' in this..... the original 30k points earned counts towards a CP... so you need another biz cc anyway for the 2nd year.... plus extra spend on top of that ??? would they even allow the 30k to count towards a same year pass? since it got you the first, wouldn't that be counting that 30k twice within one calendar year towards a cp,which I can't imagine that working...(?)

Ok I SM'ed...and they did it thru there!

Thanks for the quick replies! I'm going to try this soon. I can also easily change my direct deposit at work, so may try to go that route at the beginning at least.
