I love credit cards so much!

Generally, limit of 5 Amex credit cards (biz or personal; MR, cash back, hotel points or airline miles). No limit on Amex charge cards (Green, Gold, Platinum and their biz and co-branded variants), and charge cards don’t count against the credit card limit.

I think I'm confusing what some cards are - hotel cards are credit cards - easy. MR cards can be either. Green gold platinum = Charge. Everyday = credit, cash magnet = credit.

I'm going to make a list for myself.

This may affect some folks here — Disneyland has raised AP prices overnight, as well as MaxPass, daily tickets, and parking.

Woof, was thinking about getting the coast to coast pass. Yesterday I looked it was like 1500 now over 1900. $800 increase for me and SO.

I also was going to get max pass but held off on buying it and now that’s a 50% increase.

Do you mind sending me a PM with the details of the MOs at stop and shop? Is not posted on Dischurners.

I checked dischurners and didn't see much there either. I don't have stop & shop, just need general MS info. I ventured over the regular reddit and it was way over my head. If any of you pros get time, and don't mind doing a little write up on dischurners, I think some of us would be appreciative. :daisy:

  • DUMMY BOOKING OFFER: Earn 40,000 American Airlines AAdvantage® bonus miles after $2,000 in purchases within the first 3 months of account opening. Plus, new cardmembers can also receive up to a $250 statement credit on eligible American Airlines purchases in the first 12 months of account opening.
The dummy booking offer can be "matched" for an additional 20k miles so you could practically think of it as 60k miles for $2,000 + $250 SC. You can sell the $250 AA eGC for about $200 cash. It really comes down to what MSR you like and whether you value the points or cash. This of course is only on your first AA Biz card...On subsequent ones you'll be subject to whatever you can find in the way of a mailer which is typically 75k for $5k.
any article to read detailing how to find/use the dummy offer? and AA gc, do they expire,or could I hold onto it and use at some future point?

Ok, I decided to see if there was any magical pricing for Labor Day weekend because I'd like to go since our APs will expire on Labor Day. Then on a whim I also asked about their rooms at Pop for the cruise trip with the ILs... They are $408 a room for those days, vs $464 at All Star Music. I'm thinking yes - renovated rooms, can pay with gift cards, and it's still the same cancellation policy as a normal Disney booking? Sold.
I'm waiting for a quote from them to compare with the new disney AP discounts for May too. Interested to see since it seems very hit or miss.

I found 2 S&S locations in MA and one in RI that are checking/refusing if it says gift on the front...cashier gave some lame excuse...I wasn't gonna argue but I may have rolled my eyes at the poor excuse given.

That is pretty much it. I have a couple "trash" accounts that I deposit into so it a freeze happens, or a closure, I don't have to start moving everything else around. I find it easier to also use a bank that will accept a MO through mobile deposit as it saves on bank trips.
What amount do you purchase at one time? Is there a best number for maxing what you get for the fee? I am sorry, I have never bought a MO before.

Chase Ultimate Rewards Question:

We can book our 3 night Universal trip for next week using points for 25,000 points per night, or $312 per night. We currently have over 100,000 points. I currently have an AP rare reserved which averages to $240 per night, or $812 total with tax, but I will have to upgrade one of our 3 day tickets to an annual pass, and I’m not sure exactly what the cost is for that. My question is, which is the better deal? Should we use points or pay the AP rate plus the cost to upgrade 1 ticket? It’s obviously not better to pay cash at the Chase UR rate. We are considering using our points for another trip later on (either for hotel or airfare), but I wasn’t sure if our rewards points ever expire? TIA

Your UR points don’t expire as long as you keep a Chase UR card open.

That’s it. Start small or maybe use a real debit to see how it works at a few places near you first. I was so nervous at first but now it’s just an extra step when I’m out running errands.

The tricky part is finding places that take the GC for MO but say it’s a debit and even when I show the card with my name on it it works 90% of the time. I have one location near me so burned I’m pretty sure they have a picture of me in the back saying to not sell MOs to me lol but I have other usual spots now. Have one location with the regular visas from the grocery store that I can do too. I am probably going to open up a serve/bluebird account and load those too.
I'm sorry for the million questions...on the GCM site, which design do you choose to make it look like a real debit? I was glancing at them and they all seemed to have very gifty designs.

I’m bad at uploading pics here but currently I do the blue waves one you can use search. But I have also done pink swirls.

I do 498 so that way with the fee I’m covered in one swipe. Too risky for me to ask for multiple swipes since my area isn’t that friendly. Then I load the balance to amazon. So someplaced have a fee of .59 cents or .88 cents I’ll load $1.41 or $1.12 into my amazon account after.

Also, I take a picture of my receipt and submit to Ibotta for some extra money back. They have the any item cashback which gives me .10-50 cents back on the MO purchase.

ok..... so manually reviewed sounds little intimidating, what does that mean exactly? since this is P2 (4/24) calling in is not ideal.... I hear what you're saying tho, the two apps might cross paths timewise. and I was going to use an emailed code,so best bet is CIP today or tomorrow, then wait for (hopeful) approval before the Hyatt? that should put P2 at 5/24 for another few months. (and its more than enough MSR for me to keep busy with)

Don’t let it be intimidating. It’s just that chase business almost never is auto approved even for completely legitimate medium sized businesses.
But ya, you’ll want to wait prior to applying for Hyatt.

Hey @SouthFayetteFan - everyone here is familiar with http://churning.rankt.com/ for referrals, right? To both post and use?

You are a well-oiled machine.

I'm considering trying this for my previous Amtrak-status ramblings, cause I sure as heck won't be organically spending another $15k on that card. I had to buy a legit MO last year and used a real debit card at a grocery store nearby, and there were no questions or anything - they didn't even pay attention to me paying for it. Seems like a good place to try it out.

Just looking at the gift card options on the AMEX MR page: They have Universal Orlando certificates on there.

Also Home Depot but not Lowes. I could easily be satisfied with a 1 cent/1 point home depot redemption as I'm always doing projects. $500 for 50k points.

It worked. I got my 2 tickets purchased. Next I need to figure out how to get these into my MDE. Sleep first for this grandma.
Thank you

Thanks for all your help! I need to get Ibotta I guess. And I had no clue MOs were that cheap. Was expecting it to be a couple bucks each. Now the profit is starting to make sense in my head.:teacher:

Yeah. For Labor Day I asked for Coronado and Beach Club, out of curiosity. Coronado options were coming up around $10 more than I could get myself with the current offer, for 4 nights. Beach Club was ~$450 cheaper than Disneys offer. :confused3 Still too much for my poor little soul lol.

I was looking yesterday too. I saw Breckenridge vouchers. That may be handy for me since I don't otherwise know what to do with my MRs. I may also do the schwab thing...need to read the dischurners post on that.

The pattern, IME, seems to be deluxe are the good deal. The rest are meh but sometimes they may have availability when disney doesn't. Always good to compare.
