I love credit cards so much!

Just FYI, when you call to convert from a legacy cert to a new cert you will get a new expiration date from the date of conversion. So just keep holding off as long as possible. I haven't done mine either. Not sure why the font size changed here. Weird.

That font is weird lol! I forgot about the date resetting! That is good to know. Thanks for the reminder. Still hoping maybe some miracle will occur and I can upgrade it.

I am new to this, My credit score is 700 right now, and I just got the Uber Visa and American Express Blue Everyday Preferred very recently, my other cards are Discover It and Capital One... So, no Chase for me for awhile..... So I am planning a cruise to Alaska in 2020, probably Princess Cruise, and then we will cruise on Carnival next year. Plus I want to go to Scotland and Ireland in the next few years, and New Zealand eventually, So I need a good travel card that is not Chase right now..... P2 is working on his credit, paying off an old debt and waiting for it to clear, should be over 700 soon..... so maybe he can get a Chase.... But need some advice, which card would be best? I don't want to get the wrong card at the wrong time, but maybe I have already.. Going to Disney in 9 days!! I can't wait!!!
thanks for the help!! Love you Guy!!

Do you know about the AmEx offers for World's Leading Cruise Lines (includes Carnival and Princess)? There's one now, spend $500 get $100 credit. Last one was $750 get $150. Seems it always comes out to 20%. You could pay down the cruise every time the offer comes up and save quite a bit.

I didn't see this shared here: CFU (Chase Freedom Unlimited) $200 offer...https://www.doctorofcredit.com/chase-freedom-unlimited-200-offer/ (aka 20,000 UR points)

Since many of us are in 2 player mode here, I think it makes more sense to refer each other where applicable since you earn $100 (10k URs) from the referral and $150 (15k URs) from the signup so that's $250 (25k URs) combined. IF neither player has a CFU then this offer could be a good start.

EDIT: I'll add that if this interests you, I wouldn't wait around on it. Sometimes Chase puts these offers out as a test and we've seen them pulled pretty quickly before. That may not be the case here, but you never know. I seem to recall a 60k CSP and a 3x UR CFU offer earlier this year that came and went very quickly.

Hmm, I think this is the card that Chase is saying is their 'student' card. If so, could be a good one for my college girl. She'd love a $200 bonus and I'd like her to start building some history with Chase. Dh & I neither one have this card so this is the best way for her to go.

Quoting myself lol :) Decided to apply for her and she was instantly approved! Yay :) She can spend most of the $500 just buying her books for next semester (she pays for those herself) so this is a great deal for her. And now she has her first Chase card!

Thanks for posting about the offer, @SouthFayetteFan

Good stuff! I was surprised nobody had shared it here yet when I saw it on Twitter.

Wait, what card is this?

You make a purchase and they give you back a certain % rebate? This could be amazing for DH to carry since he expenses the full price and we would pocket the rebate.

I need details please!:teacher:

The Amex Gold gives 20% back on dining, but only up to $100. This is in addition to the $10 each month at a few specific restaurants and Grub Hub. Here's a quote from their page:

Indulge your taste buds then let us pick up the tip. How? It’s simple: use The Gold Card at U.S. restaurants during the first 3 months of Card membership and receive 20% back as a statement credit, up to $100 per Card account. This made-for-foodies offer is only available to new Card Members approved before January 9, 2019.

Does the manufacturer have a prescription card? One of my kids is on an expensive medication and using the card brings our cost down tremendously. Sam's won't take the card though, so we have to get at Target/CVS.
It looks like there is one that brings it down $60/month through December. Hopefully they do another one next year. I guess I need to ask Costco if they will take it and if not try target/cvs and pay with a target gift card.

I feel your pain. Until we meet our annual $3000 deductible, one of my husbands prescriptions is $1100 for a three month supply. I am looking into Pharmstore, a Canadian prescription Referral Service. Through them it is $206 for the same dosage. I checked for your rx but it doesn't look like they carry it.

I'm a little confused on your Blue Everyday Preferred - does that earn MR points or Cash back?

My card is the cash back one, BCP

Guess I picked the wrong card for travel.....
I have this card as well. I use it for all grocery store purchases, including gift card purchases, and the VERY few Amex offers that actually appeal to me. In the past three years I have accumulated $800 cash back on purchases I would have made anyways. Since I am not buying any gift cards for Disney now I will probably pc it to the no fee card this January and still get 3% back on my groceries.

When on vacation I charge tickets, excursions, etc (anything that doesn't get more than 1x bonus on another card) to the BCP and then just cash out for a statement credit to "erase" those charges. Voila, a GREAT travel card! ::yes::

I also have the CSR for 3x UR for dining and travel. I recently used this card to pay for my cruise. This is a GREAT travel card, with many benefits, but a high annual fee. It's pretty easy to justify just about ANY card as a good travel card, it just depends on how you use it and what you use it for.

Give us the information on your credit history as well as your travel plans and you will soon be on your way to a few more of these great travel cards!

Tagging @calypso726, who might be interested in no lifetime language Platinums, especially at 75k MR during triple dip season.

Since these support links are limited to 2 uses, it's probably best to confirm with the referer before using the link and after approval, so the referer can keep track of how many people have used their link and the applicant isn't wasting an application.

ETA: Before applying, verify that the offer terms lack the lifetime language as some folks are sending out and posting regular support links that contain the lifetime language as if it’s the pre-approval links that don’t have the lifetime language. See https://www.doctorofcredit.com/warn...pproval-referral-offers-no-lifetime-language/

Thank you for the tag! I haven't received the email but checked to see if anyone else has and throw some support their way. @SBWB48 :thumbsup2

Heads up: Giant data breach at Marriott

https://www.cnbc.com/2018/11/30/mar...ched-onapproximately-500-million-guests-.html

  • Marriott said the Starwood guest reservation database was breached, potentially exposing information on about 500 million guests.
  • Among the information stolen on many of the guests includes a combination of name, mailing address, phone number, email address, passport number, Starwood Preferred Guest account information, date of birth, gender, arrival and departure information, reservation date, and communication preferences.
  • Payment information may also have been accessed on some guests.

Ugh, just was going to post I got a push notification from my local news

Wait, what happened with the Disboards? Did they upgrade the servers or something? It was typically down 4-6 am EST but it seems to be available 24/7 now.

I noticed that also. But, I keep getting the long running scripts and adverts running into messages and annoying glitches. Maybe someone is on vacation.

My son is on it too. Go to the manufacturer website. There is a coupon that takes my cost down to $230 from $290.
Just curious where you get it filled. I’m wondering if Costco will take the coupon or if I should transfer it to target and pay with gift cards.

Sorry, I am still 13 pages behind, but wanted to reply.
Mine coded as at&t phone. It is supposed to be wireless, but I have internet/directv. He spent a long time looking it over. Asked how I paid...I said website, no 3rd party, yadayada. He said he would escalate it. A few days later I got the credit. I didn't think it was going to go through.
Just try chatting again. I nonchalantly said I did the offer on x date and it hasn't credited. Didn't give details that it wasn't actually wireless or anything.
Now, all that said, I have the offer on another card and I'm not going to use it. I don't want to risk not getting the $200 credit and losing out on 3x UR via CIP. Just going to be happy I got it the one time and move on.
Unfortunately my story is not a success. I chatted yesterday to follow up on credit not posting. They denied me based on vendor information. My charge came up AT&T phone but if you click on it, it references Uverse in the transaction detail. I think that is what got me.

In Amex news, my $40 off $200 credited this morning from my Courtyard gift card purchase. I have 3 more of these offers on my gold card so this card has already earned it's keep. $100 restaurant rebates, $120 of the $10 monthly credits, $100 airline credit plus $40 of a possible $160 in Marriott credits. I know going forward it will have to work harder, but right now it's doing okay.

@Lain - was it you who mentioned you also don't like that "Im Ronnie Pickering" guy from r/churning? Well guess what...I cracked a case tonight my friend...

Im Ronnie Pickering's reddit account got suspended and his last comment was on July 23rd. Well...on July 24th a new account showed up on r/churning...for "Im a Big Guy For You". This guy said his old account had gotten banned from another sub, but he never told anybody who he was previously.

AND I could sense something I didn't like about the guy, like I didn't trust him but I couldn't figure out who he was...until tonight. I am so proud of myself...CASE CRACKED! Oh and if @Lain...it wasn't you I discussed that with then you can just ignore all of this LOLOL!

OMG. That makes perfect sense.

ETA: Wasn't there some crack detective on r/churning who was really good at sniffing out alter egos? Something like dmonstar? You wouldn't happen to be him, would you?
