I love credit cards so much!

Yes I am applying too. I was denied recently for having too many recent inquiries. (I only had 2) I was thinking he might have a better shot than I do at the next card. He is totally on board for business cards, they make me a little nervous. I've been reading up on them but still find it stressful.
Who were you denied by and when were the othe inquiries.....With Chase the key is to spread out the applications...2-3 months apart.... I sell on eBay and have 3 Chase business cards...so if you have any questions just ask away here...everyone is very helpful

Is it still just the CSR and Freedom support links that are not working? Do we need to remove them from DISchurners, or just let them hang out to see what happens?
I’ve been busy lately but have been planning to require everybody to remove all CF and CSR links. None are working & Chase has ended the program (even if only temporarily). We probably don’t want to confuse newer folks.

I’ve been gone a long while from the thread but popping back to ask you knowledgeable folks a question. Last weekend I showed up at a Hampton for which I had a reservation and the hotel claimed I cancelled it. I did call to change it from two nights to one night but I double checked online that they had not cancelled the whole thing. The online account showed the revised reservation as one night. The confirmation number stayed the same.

Anyway, the hotel was full and basically told me “Too Bad, not our fault, hit the road.” They were very rude to me. I had booked a group for that night, and everyone else stayed there but I was forced to go elsewhere. Anyway now that I’m home I see that I made a screenshot of my “final” reservation online. Should I call Hilton again to complain and send them my “proof” or is this just par for the course? That night I did call The main reservation number but they told me the same thing. They were just nicer about it. I think they should give me some extra bonus points. Otherwise, I may have to stick with Marriott properties where they treat you better, lol.
So uhhh believe it or not, I had a similar experience with Marriott this summer. I got 65,000 pts for the trouble:

Guys...my week has not gotten better. After my basement flood...and my 3 trips to different Home Depots to purchase a sump pump (they sold me a broken one twice...can’t remember if I shared that sorry of wasting 6+ hours)...Tonight takes the cake...

Apparently the Fairfield Inn I was staying at tonight had a glitch where when I checked in on the App it only transferred my name and email but not my phone # or credit card. They sent me an email at 8:30 giving me 30 minutes to respond or they would cancel my room. When I showed up at 9:30...it was cancelled. They DID NOT cancel the room in my wife’s name because she didn’t check in via the app. (That room was for my sister in laws family).

I can’t even begin to type what occurred over the next hour in that lobby...but I can tell you that they DID NOT provide me (a gold elite member with 1.3million pts) a room tonight. The GM spoke to me on the phone and didn’t even apologize...after prodding they found me a room at a “Quality” Inn about 20 miles away (yes it is “Quality” for a reason ;)). He then told me it was my responsibility to pay for it. I’ll have to provide some addition commentary later on some of the more hilarious portions of this exchange (including the GM saying to me on the phone “I work a 9-5 just like you”...). Also we were told to grab anything from the snack shop by the person at the desk so me and the kids grabbed about $100 worth of stuff LOL! There’s more but it’s late...

I placed a long call to Marriott tonight. I got my free night cert back (good for a year from today) Plus 25,000 points.

The best part is we are going to drive back to the Fairfield tomorrow for breakfast to meet up with sis in law. WOW...Just WOW...what a night, what a week!

I think the real problem was this so-called “glitch” of checking in via the app and them thinking there was no CC guaranty on the reservation (which shouldn’t have mattered since I had a free night cert).

Haha - they also contended they had no phone number for me...again a “glitch”

I will give a full rundown at some point but the GM of the hotel called me this morning to apologize. I feel better about things and now have 40,000 more Marriott points out of it (so 65k total). They also ended up paying for my room last night.

Just had my folks over for a family dinner and I told my dad about the 8% off BJ's Disney GC deal. They are going down to WDW with us in March and will be staying at the GF. He was willing to let me buy $4k of these cards on my CSR since they aren't really into CC points. A few days ago I had no trouble buying $1650 so I know they aren't really enforcing the 3 card limit. Should I just go for it and put the $4k in my cart right now or is there a reason I should do $2k tonight and hope the deal is around after that order has shipped and do another $2k then? I'd love to get the spend (and points) and my dad would love to save about $320. What do you all think?

At least she tries, and the FX fees amounted to less than $2, which will count towards the MSR for a 50k UR signup bonus.

That's not bad at all. I was just having fun with the emojis. But that foreign transaction fee really bugs me (and can be really high when paying for hotels, etc.) We do try to only travel with cards that don't charge one, but this last trip had to bring along the Disney Visa (discount for photos and stuff on the ship) and I had to keep reminding everyone not to use it.

I’m not familiar with BJs or the offer hopefully someone who is can advise...

I’ve been reading about Amex getting upset with people making PayPal payments during the MSR period. Does this apply only to “friends & family” payments? Can I buy something from a merchant & pay with PayPal without making Amex angry?

Haven't seen a real limit yet, but depending on how much the order is changes the shipping. High amounts can require signatures and personally I'd hate to lose track of one huge package. I'd split it up.

Ohhhhhh. Gotcha. Any idea what amount requires signatures? I know I needed a signature for my last order which was over $1500. I'd love to get smaller orders and not have to be home. We were lucky that a neighbor signed for our last one... Not only am I a CC newbie, I'm also a GC newbie...

Not offhand, maybe do a search through the gift card thread, it seems to vary but probably over 1k at least. Or maybe the BJs thread that announced the sale, I think some folks discussed their shipping ( and waaay less pages to search :) )
