I love credit cards so much!

I was wondering the same thing.

So far, Chase hasn't implemented a "one Freedom rule" or "one Ink rule." And it seems the 5/24 rule still looks at new card accounts in only the last 24 months. But just looking at the next big anniversary, the CIP came out on ~10/19/16. How many people were thinking about churning the CIP? How many think Chase might add 48-months bonus language to the CIP? Or worse, extend it to the entire Ink family?

Me :wave2: I got mine in May 2017. Was definitely planning to churn. I didn't realize it didn't come out until after the CSR. Wow, I hope that card is not next with this dumb 48 mos stuff.

So, I put my mortgage on my Marriott biz card and that put me over the 3k MSR. It was cancelled by plastiq but they had already charged my card and they said it was would be 3-4 days for the refund. Will that trigger my Marriott points to post? I'll still meet the MSR cause I'd be too afraid to not do so but I'm just wondering what happens when you meet the MSR but then don't meet it anymore. IIRC @Lain had something like this with iphones and returning and points still credited??

O.M.G. 48 months?! I feel awful for those of you waiting and planning for Sapphires! DoC also mentions those types of links still contain the 24 month language and they put up a page to post your links if you've got live ones. They do state they have no idea how long those links will stay live, maybe this explains the wokiness with the Chase links over the last couple weeks?

As the vets here remind us- when this game changes it changes FAST :(

Potential BAD news on CSR and CSP - 48 MONTH RULE!

The wording on the Chase public application link for CSP and CSR has changed to:
  • 50,000 Bonus Points after you spend $4,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening
  • The product is not available to either (i) current cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card, or (ii) previous cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card who received a new cardmember bonus within the last 48 months. If you are an existing Sapphire customer and would like this product, please call the number on the back of your card to see if you are eligible for a product change. You will not receive the new cardmember bonus if you change products.
It's worth noting that I DO NOT see this language on the existing referral links...so...this is definitely one to keep an eye on folks.

Oh no...wonder if they will change the bonus on other cards as well

My iPhones went on a SPG Biz. Amex counts only spend when calculating MSR, and doesn't deduct for returns. As long as your triggering transaction (the charge that puts you over MSR in spend only) isn't refunded, Amex will credit you the welcome bonus and may or may not reverse the bonus. Amex is always within their right to clawback a bonus because you haven't actually met MSR once refunds are deducted, so it's always recommended to make up that spend.

I don't really have experience with how Chase handles refunds on spend that count towards MSR.

I guess I’m a little confused about this new 48 month thing. Does it mean if we received a bonus on any other chase card we can’t get the CSP bonus?
