FYI - the karma scrape tool doesn’t run instantly. It may take a day before rankt-bot recognizes that you’re at 50 karma.

At least your spouse gets an email! I have his accounts linked to one of my 3 emails. My poor husband knows there is a new card when I physically take one out of his card and put in another one. “Use this for everything unless they don’t take Amex after you double check. If they don’t take Amex you can use this one.” Was the conversation we had 10 minutes ago. We have 15k of msr to meet. I can’t be picky about bonus categories right now!

I was just going to come ask you because all my links were removed. The rank bot messages from this morning said I had 32 karma, and now the rank bot message says I only have 31 karma. Weird.

After having success with the fixed but low value MCGCs, I decided to be another dp and am now hitting my head against a wall. Bought a variable USB MCGC at Kroger, came home to activate it.

Went to prepaidgiftbalance .com and that site will not accept the 16 digit card number in either the First Time Login or Returning Cardholder Login. Called in, and gave my info and was told I was good to go. The balance was correct. Waited one hour to allow their systems to refresh. Tried to enter it into MasterPass - got the "Something Went Wrong" message five times. Then Masterpass gave a message my account was being frozen or something like that bc of my repeated attempts to put this card on there.

Called back the number on the back of the MCGC and got the exact spelling of my address (they used an abbreviation since I gave them my info verbally, they entered it however they wanted). Called back MasterPass about unblocking my account. The rep said it was active, I tried to enter my card again with the corrected address spelling as the MCGC rep entered it. Still no success. MasterPass rep said she would submit a report to digital services and I should hear back in 24-72 hrs. Ugh!!!

This AMEX MSR is so aggravating.

Sorry to hear you've had all these issues. My variable load MCGCs are always US Bank, simply because I know I have Venmo has a backstop, if need be. The one I mentioned where I could load to MP and pay via Plastiq was in fact a USB and prepaidgiftbalance .com is the balance inquiry site as well. I wish we could pin down why you and @Lain seem to have run into these issues...who issued your MCGC?

Does anyone know if the Venmo still codes 3x on CIP?

Still 3x. I ran a charge as recent as Friday.

Booked my husband's flight for his Las Vegas conference in December. Booked my flight for when I join him out there too. I used miles for my trip out to him (one way). He had like 18,xxx straggly United miles that were ready to expire. I found a 15k flight that was ideal. But the rest of the flights... I had to use cash. Like an animal.

At least DH gets to expense his flight.

Paying cash for a flight made me shudder for realz. This hobby has destroyed me ya'll.

Received the SPG Lux in the mail today. Delivered via UPS Express Envelope.

The typical white envelope is colorful and comes inside a cardboard box with some slick SPG promotional materials. The edges on my SPG Lux card are a bit roughly cut and dinged up; it looks like they're pressing these out as fast as they can. I'll probably request a cleaner replacement card in 10 days. The name is on the front and number is on the back. Interestingly, the name and numbers aren't embossed; they're screen printed (?) and have a glossy look. I also notice the card supports contactless payment.

One more thing, the website Amex is using for this product is americanexpress.com/spglux. Looks like Amex is going with the "SPG Lux" moniker too.

P.S. I don’t like the color. It’s too dark. From the promotional images, it’s supposed to have this brushed metal look, but it’s so dark I can barely see the design details.

My DH doesn’t check email, we share one account. Well, sorta. I mean, I have multiple other email accounts and I don’t think he’s even aware. He may never find out he was approved for Barclay AA Biz last night. I could activate it, charge one thing, then sock drawer. He never checks mail either.

I’m at 24 nights with Marriott but had my 25th night on Sat. Anyone know how long it has been taking lately for the nights to credit. Tomorrow we check-in at the Courtyard through Thurs. If the night shows up before our departure to change my status to Gold, do you think the hotel will honor the late check-out?

checked out Aug 18th, night and points posted today. Aug 27th.

Note: this was an SPG hotel and needed time to transition into Marriott? if that makes a difference?

Quick Q - what have you been procrastinating on that this screws up? Keep in mind that support links still show 24 month language (if you weren’t aware of that) so you can still do a double dip now (but who knows when this loophole will close).
