I'm a New Englander and there are some Cambridge Savings banks in nearby towns. I've never done this before, so would just like to confirm there are no negative consequences to doing this right? I'll open the account, transfer $1000 in, leave it in there for at least 90 days and I'll get the $175 bonus. Then how hard is it to close a bank account? Can you usually do it online or typically have to go into a branch? Thanks for any advice/tips from those who are regulars at bank bonuses!
Hi! So there are no requirements to getting the bonus...such as direct deposit or debit transactions. Just open and qualify for the bonus! I'm assuming you read that in order for the account to remain fee free you must have $1000 or you will be charged $25 a month. This is a pretty easy $175 and awesome that you can fund the $1000 with a c.c. I will be leaving $1000 for at least 90 days as you stated. This is only my second stab at bank bonuses, and my other one hasn't been closed yet, so I can't comment on how easy it is to close but I'm sure others can. I am not near any Cambridge banks so I will not be going in branch. I am going to close by secure message or phone.
