FYI: Don't hit minimum spends and then return things and not put the spend back on the card. You may get the points, but is it really the right thing to do long term?

I don't think we have anybody doing this here, and while this Redditor feels ok with it...IMHO it's just not right. I get that we operate on the fringe of the rules, but not reaching the minimum spend and taking advantage of the card issuers system limitations to track returns on MSRs probably isn't an arena we want to operate in. If anybody disagrees, I'd love to hear that viewpoint though

I can respect a different opinion stated respectfully with logic.
