I love credit cards so much!

Does anyone have experience booking VIP tours through chase using URs? Did they have to book your room package too or can they just book the tour?

Are you right on 5/24 and do you know when your next "5/24 slot" opens up? :)
I’m really right at my 5/24. Hit It on the southwest double dip. Then blew it by the spg personal. I’ll be back under in 4 months so I’m thinking non reportable business cards. So far business card wise I have spg southwest and CIP. Do you think another AMEX biz is an option? If so which? Or any other business card that doesn’t report?

You won’t get approved for the Southwest or CIP until you are under 5/24. I’d go with any of the Amex Biz cards or maybe the Marriott Biz card.

@LB002, I wanted to add to @Lain ’s amazing post...
In regards to meeting msr x3 to the tune of $13k, you can knock out some chunks by sending your mortgage and many other things through plastiq.
You incur a fee, but you are earning back waaaayyyy more in bonus points that you spend on the fees. It can always be a last resort if the 90 day ornso deadline is approaching. Also, paying bills ahead is a good way to hit msr.
How do you get your mortgage paid? I thought it was not permitted.

Was just reading it and wondering if anyone had said anything here about it yet. Would make sense to do the biz and then when you were closer to travel go for the one with the $450 af to get the benefits etc unless you always stay at hilton.

I we are getting biz x2 but I was eyeing that aspire for later when I’m done with chase. It has the big resort credit and airline credit annually to offset the cost. I’m not sure if it worth it even after that though since DH already is diamond every year. I’d need someone smart to figure out the math for me.

Hey - sorry this got missed :( Are you interested in business cards? :)

EDIT: sorry was reading on mobile - I see now you mentioned SW biz. Have you considered getting a CIP card?

Thank you. Guess I was feeling a little needy LOL. Given the other details I shared, do you think the odds of me being approved are fairly good? I guess the reason I've shied away is not being familiar with how the URs (I think that's the right term) work.

Don't take it personally!
I see that you are considering the SW biz card. Do you need those points and the companion pass this year? Remember, you need 110K qualifying points for the CP. The sign up bonus from the SW biz card gets you 60K. You'll either need to spend the rest or earn the rest...or get a SW personal card. The Biz card won't count towards your 5/24 but you do need to be under 5/24 to get it. So you need to apply for that one first. Do you have a business or a "business"?
I applied for a personal SW card a few months ago which earned 50,000 points so this would be enough for the CP. I guess I have the same "business" that others here have :-).

Another option that can be transferred to SW would be an UR earning card like the CSR or CSP. Some people have double dipped those. What are your 2 chase cards? Those points don't count towards a CP.
My other Chase cards are Disney and SW. I don't think I'd want to double dip since I'm at 4/24.

I already have southwest and CIP. Will the Marriott biz card be counted w 5/24?

No, the Marriott Biz is not subject to the 5/24 rule (you can get it over), and won't add to your 5/24. However, before you apply for the Marriott Biz, you should consider how hard you've been hitting Chase recently and what your new card count is -- personal and business cards from Chase, and reportable cards from all issuers -- for the past 3, 6, and 12 months to avoid the risk of a shutdown.

Hi, strangers. I haven't been on the DIS at all since I double-dipped CSR and CSP. We are not too far from meeting the spends on both, so yay for lots of UR points coming our way soon!

Question for you all: We go to France next month and thought it would be good to have a Chip and Pin card (not just Chip and Signature) in case we need to use a parking meter or ticket machine. DH has the Barclay Arrival Plus and we were going to cancel his before the annual fee hits just before our trip, then get me one instead to use during our trip. However, in the meantime, they discontinued that card. So, we've been debating if we keep his card (that has about $40 worth of points on it and we can't cash out until we get to $100) and pay the AF ($75 or $89, can't remember?) or if we cancel and find some other alternative. One that DH came up with as an option is the Barclay Wyndham Rewards no-fee card. Seems to have Chip and Pin and no foreign transaction fees. Would get us a free hotel night for intro bonus. Anyone have this card? Or have other recommendations? We are both at or over 5/24 now in case that matters. Thanks!
Little out of the box but you don't have a Target MasterCard do ya? Supposed to have no foreign transaction fees and it's true chip and pin. Not good for earning anything but would work as backup plan.

An AMEX Biz would probably be your best move. DISchurners has a thread that is a guide to ALL Amex Biz cards :)

Pretty sure I'm going to go for that Hilton business card before it expires next month... You guys are such a bad influence :rotfl2:

Also, I can't remember if there was any input on doing a separate DL thread on Reddit, but I think it might be a good idea, for whatever that's worth!

I know we’re the credit card thread here but since some of you are like me and also churn bank bonuses: Chase has a nationwide offer for $500(!) for their business performance checking. This is fairly rare as this offer has been by targeted mailer only recently so if interested grab your code now. It’s VERY easy imho, they waive the fee the first couple months and you downgrade the account via SM after you get the bonus. Any business banker should be able to open this account for you in branch. I have opened a couple accounts now at different banks for my “biz” you just need to be able to talk through it a bit. More like make chit-chat about it while they fill out the paperwork so it’s not as intrusive as a credit card app imho. You can have a personal checking and a business checking account. As always cross you t’s and dot your i’s! https://www.doctorofcredit.com/chas...0-in-branch-bonus-no-direct-deposit-required/

Thanks for posting this! The Chase personal checking was one of the easiest bonuses ever. I talked to DH and he is willing to go in branch and open a business account! He just said he would like me to go with him for moral support. I plan to open one as well, at another time, which means that we will be $1000 closer to our DVC fund goal in just a few months! :D

When you say a few months ago, do you mean in 2018? just making sure all your points would be earned in one year to qualify for the companion pass. Good luck with it!

Sorry, I misread what you said. I’m out of it this AM. The Biz won’t count towards 5/24 and you can get it if you are over 5/24. What were the dates you opened the other Chase Biz cards? If they were recent it’s probably best to stick with Amex then.

some ppl dont listen... :\ A friend of mine is struggling with her MSR right now... she wont tell me how much she has left, the only thing ive told her to do is start buying VGCs at grocery stores, shes planning on buying a laptop and then returning it to meet MSR. i facepalmed so hard...

I wonder if she doesn't have the means to float the money on the GCs.

I always go a little over on my MSRs just because I know inevitably I will have a return or few. Doing it purposely isn't cool, IMO.

Oh my! That is one great use of URs. Note to self if ever going during ridiculously busy time period....NYE is on my bucket list.
