Saw this comment on r/churning and while it's too late for this sale, I'm curious if anyone here does this. Kind of brilliant if it works as detailed here:

eBay 15% coupon is BACK!!! Time to get some manufacture spending done!!!

eBay has a 15% off coupon right now using code PREPSPRING(Maximum $50 discount).

You can purchase an item from your spouse/friend for $333.33 using a credit card check out (to meet CC spending).

You will only pay $333.33 - $50 = $283.33

your friend/spouse gets $333.33 minus 13% eBay/Paypal fees = $290

You make $6.66 which is small but good way to meet a tiny chunk of credit card spending if u need to.

Offer valid through March 27, 2018 until 8PM PST or while funds last. Discount applies to the purchase price (excluding shipping, handling, and taxes). Maximum discount value of $50.

On the CIP, does recent history take a while to post? i made several purchases and nothing seems to show up. The only difference is my available credit has decreased.

The Chase business website is very wonky. Transactions can take a while to show as pending, then may disappear for a few days, before finally posting. I’d recommend checking the Chase Ultimate Rewards portal site instead, logging in with your CIP’s account credentials. The CIP site will show points pending usually within a day, and the transaction that earned those points will show up under the review more activity link shortly afterwards. If your transaction qualified under a bonus category, you should see the points reflect a 3x multiplier.

Another Plastiq question, if they show charged on my profile and it looks like the credit card was charged today due to my current available credit decreasing does that mean plastiq allowed the payment or am i not out of the woods yet? is there still a chance of it getting denied?

You should receive an email from Plastiq with the subject “Payment to Recipient Sent.” That’s when you know your payment is in the clear and your check is on its way to the payee.

CIP charges will show pending briefly, then appear to drop off the planet for a day or so and then show up as posted. I'm guessing this is how all CHase business cards behave but only having the CIP, I really don't know.

Glad you got your courtesy points. I’ve been using the MPX app for some of my MSR on the SPG biz as well. I can’t imagine those charges wouldn’t be fine since they are being used to purchase hard goods. If Amex questions, we have receipts for goods that we can show.
I hope so. I did a little searching earlier and I think they’ll code as airline for Amex (not for flights just airline ). I will definitely be keeping my receipts! Such a great way to get miles for minimum spend!

Awesome info. Thanks! Just curious how far the walk to the parks is from the Sheraton you are staying in? Describing the breakfast has me wanting to stay there. If I tell my dh, he'll be all over it lol. He loves hotel breakfast :)

The Sheraton is right on Harbor, a little past Marriott’s Springhill Suites/Residence Inn and Hyatt House on the other side of the street. I’d say it’s a smidge closer to the parks than the Hilton or Marriott since those are situated further back from Harbor. The Sheraton is an older hotel than the Hilton or the Marriott, which I think were built in the 80s, and definitely older than Spinghill Suites/Residence Inn and Hyatt House, which were built in like the last 5 years, but it’s clean and perfectly fine. Our partial theme park view gives us a good view of the new Guardians of the Galaxy Mission Breakout tower and the Matterhorn; we can see the fireworks from our room. But a lot of the park view is obstructed by the Spinghill Suites/Residence Inn.

It is closer to the parks than the Toy Story parking lot, so you’d have to backtrack about 5 minutes if you wanted to catch the bus from Toy Story in the morning. To the parks, it’s about a 10-15 minute walk to bag check.

I kind of value my relationship with eBay and continued ability to sell on their site to pull something like this.

I've been reading about the Chase shutdowns :scared1:

I'm curious how all the different */numbers are to be interpreted. I see people mention their */3mos, */6mos, */12 mos and of course, the */24 (which I understand as all personal credit cards you have opened in the last 24 mos from all banks, not just Chase, and a handful of business cards that show up on personal CR's).

For everything other than */24, I don't know if those numbers include all banks, or just Chase. Does it include all biz cards, or just Chase biz cards or no biz cards?

Any clarification? I think I'm pretty low risk right now but I want to make sure I keep it that way.

Fingers crossed.... my only email says "payment processed"

I'm not saying I'm willing to do it either, though I might would once or twice (I have 4 ebay accounts so I could handle losing one, I guess). I was really just curious if anyone does this. I don't know how people come up with these kinds of ways to MS. I'm impressed with the ideas more than actually putting it in practice.

Why, Amex?! You know I’m on vacation! Maybe you didn’t know I was planning to churn this card when I got back!

Mercedes-Amex Credit Card Partnership to End in January 2019, Final Chance for 60,000 Points Bonus [Some Links Being Pulled & Rumor Card Ends On 3/31]

The AF on my personal Plat posted, but I’m still using the benefits and planned to cancel at the conclusion of my trip, then apply for the MB Plat later next month. I guess I’ll be canceling one Plat and applying for a new Plat on the same day if the application is still around on Saturday.

If you want a good understanding of Chase shutdown, you should read about the BustOut Score. To put it simply, a Bustout means when a consumer gets a bunch of cards, then bust out, meaning they would swipe out to the max and then disappears. Banks fear this, so if you have a ton of credit cards, they worry that you would do so. This makes sense, people with LOL/24 going back to chase will trigger this... getting a bunch of credit cards quickly, is also another trigger. Experian released a report on what it thinks of it, where 2-3 cards per 6 month(30% increase), 3-4 cards per 6 month(50% increase) is considered risking, hence */6mos. */3mos and /*12 mos just shows how fast the apps are going and its great into on where the person is at.

Edit: should also note, the */6 */3 */12 should include business cards. If you have multiple single bank business cards, there is a guess that that should be added to total # on credit lines due to inhouse info. ie, if you have a chase ink+, chase Ink cash, adding those into the any above.

A few things i found quite interesting...

What Hurts:
- Having a very high score might actually hurt you.
- Low AoA will hurt you. (remember, your applying for cards yearly so this goes down quite significantly)
- 50% over utilization is a big flag
- MS of course
- High income vs age.
- multiple credit increase requests
- multiple payments from different accounts
- high risk states(Nevada, Florida, Arizona are top 3)
- AU... something about identify theft.

What Helps:
- Having some kind of loan and mortgage actually helps you.
- Having a Credit Union Trade account(unsure what this is exactly)
- Might be a good idea to cancel a card instead of PC and sockdrawing it.
- Lowering your credit limit on other cards might help.

edit: typing mistakes.

This is what ive gathered from it. im sure @SouthFayetteFan may know more. i see him active on the shutdown thread... :]

had consider applying during the summer... i still got 15k MSR to meet... :(

We are also Marriott Gold which I read gives us Gold with SPG too.

Be sure to link your Marriott account with the corresponding SPG account for Marriott Gold status to be matched at SPG.

Just to add, all the information I’ve seen on the blogs say the SPG Biz entitles the cardholder and only one guest registered in the same room to access Sheraton lounges. My receptionist allowed access for me, DW and DD4.

That's unfortunate - was considering going for the MB Plat in May. Can't do it any earlier without jeopardising my 5/24 with chase.

Feeling super pumped today! Final rankings had come out a few weeks back and I finished 2nd in the nation in our segment of commercial banking (which is cool in and of itself) but it comes with a reward valued at $5,000. Well I was told it would be in the form of Mastercard gift cards...So I was thinking we'd have to use these on expenses and it would potentially slow my roll with new cards (not that I'm gonna complain about $5k tho haha). Well they showed up in the mail and they are Mastercard DEBIT cards and I can go to my bank's ATMs and just take out the cash and deposit that in the bank! Wooohoooo!!! That means I get the money AND I can keep putting spend on CCs. Like I said...SUPER pumped! :thumbsup2

Congrats - I'm sure it is well deserved. Nice bonus - and happy that it even came in a way that is super convenient!

Ooh, what is this "show lottery"?

Don't forget the Ham for Ham lottery - https://hamiltonmusical.com/lottery/

I enter the digital lottery pretty much any week that I could conceivably drop everything and get to a show. I've never won yet, but wouldn't it be amazing to see Hamilton for $10? Best kind of lottery - free to enter!

Thanks for this! This actually makes me feel a little better... I'm not going to get my next card until 5/18, but I think I'm in a good position as far as utilization (3%), no MS, no payments from multiple accounts, and AoA (shout out to my mom for adding me as an AU on her Kohl's credit card when I was 9!).

We checked into the Sheraton Park Anaheim yesterday, and while they have me down as SPG Gold and read off the perks I’m getting with that status, they didn’t mention access to the Club Lounge as a SPG Biz cardholder. When I inquired, they asked if I was a SPG Biz cardholder because they only saw that we were paying with an Amex SPG card (DW’s new SPG Biz to work towards MSR at 2x Starpoints/$1!),* not whether it was business or personal. I answered yes, showed my card, and they apologized and recoded our keycards to grant club lounge access.

My daughter's reservation was on her SPG Biz. The clerk argued with her that spg biz did not get lounge access. She has had this biz card for close to 10 years. It is possible that she had a convention rate - I didn't ask her that question, because I am actually not sure if she is at a convention in this particular hotel.

Your stay sounds great! Enjoy!
