I think applying for the CIC now would be okay. He is more than 60 days out from his last application. And if I read what you are saying he will be 3/24 in October with the plan for SW in November. Far from the expert but it seems to me that should work.

That’s how I count, because CIC doesn’t count against 5/24. I double checked his Experian credit report to make sure.

Don't worry yet, it can take a couple weeks to work their way through the Chase system and after the bonus has been approved my suspicion is they all wait until Chase batch processes them. We should see another processing of bonuses either next week or 2 weeks from now and you have better odds of being in that batch methinks

When I thought a message was due to the credit limits, I always called and inquired. Every time they moved credit around and I was approved right away. And when you call, they give you the option of how the credit gets moved around. So I could take from any of my existing cards and choose the limit I wanted on the new card. This is extremely advantageous.

I will try calling tomorrow. Good idea. Is there a number that is best to call? Just general chase number?

I agree with @gottalovepluto that you should see it in a week or two. One of my chase links was used 20 days ago and I just saw the points pending today.

ive read u might need to wait for the request to be closed before u can ask again. was reading something about someone putting a ticket in and couldnt do anything until it ended. I could be wrong though. HUCA for sure!

Thanks to @Calfan and @Lain for the SM advice to Chase to get my "TRAVEL Study" bonus miles. They extended me the courtesy points but cautioned I wouldn't get them again. I guess I need to talk to the University. I'm always shocked that someone hasn't complained before when stuff like this comes up. Doesn't everybody do miles??? LOL.

On a different subject, we are trying to meet our minimum spends on our Amex SPG's and I was all excited because I just used it at Sur La Table on the Mileage Plus X for 4x United plus the 1x Starpoint. But then I started to panic ... I know there is a gift card issue with Amex and minimum spends. I hope that doesn't extend to the mileage plus app? Anyone had any problems with this? I could have gone through the BA portal for 8x, but I needed the pan today. Also, BA miles take forever to come through!

Glad you got your courtesy points. I’ve been using the MPX app for some of my MSR on the SPG biz as well. I can’t imagine those charges wouldn’t be fine since they are being used to purchase hard goods. If Amex questions, we have receipts for goods that we can show.

@wendow - did you get your Freedom product change completed yet and see Q1 activated? I can confirm that on all of my CF cards (the 2 we had, and the 2 we PCed from CFU) that we now see the 7,500 pts pending.

Awesome! Yes, my CFU was changed to a CF in my account as of this morning but q2 was not activated and I could not see anything about q1. So, I called back and got a very nice csr who activated both for me I sent $25 to my dh to test it out.

Are you planning to do the same with Paypal for q2?

I’m going to hold off initially. I don’t plan to put any grocery (or grocery gift cards) on my CF cards because I should have MSRs to work on. However I’ll wait until June to make sure nothing wild happens (i.e. declined for a card or big unexpected expense) and then I’m gonna HAMMER that PayPal option to the tune of $6k, LOL!

I tried multiple times today, different browsers, logging in/not logging in, searching different cities, clicking on most expensive option/least expensive option, lol...I told myself I'd only apply if I could pull up the 80k...So, I didn't apply. And maybe that is for the best. I really want to get the CIC and I don't want anything to ruin that.
