I love credit cards so much! v7.0 - 2025 (see first page for add'l details)

Recommendations for Los Cabos?
1. Does anyone have a reliable airport transfer that you've used before and reasonably priced?
2. Rec for a good whale watching tour? Preferably kid-friendly. This is on my kids' #1 to-see list.
I used Cabo Airport Transfer in 2022 and would recommend them. The cost was US$135 (including tolls) each direction in a large black SUV.

With the new CSR benefits, we're expecting that on 10/26 we'll be able to register (or whatever the correct terminology is) for the stubhub credit, correct? I want to buy Back to the Future tickets (Broadway in Richmond) so this is on my list to do next Sunday. I also have an Ink statement closing 10/23 so I need to transfer those points as soon as they post.
Yes, that is the reported date that we can register for the new benefits.

I'm thinking of app'ing for the new Citi Globe today. Any recent datapoints on how fast the cards from Citi come (or if they can be expedited)? We are leaving the country in about 10 days, and I'd want it in time for that trip since it has no foreign trans fees.

I could use 4 admirals passes for this same upcoming trip, and then 4 more for a trip in August 2026, so that's an easy benefit to max out. Thinking of the inflight credits, could we use $100 in wifi and snacks on our upcoming trip (two flights, one is only 2 hours, one 4 hours)? Might be difficult since we usually get free inflight wifi through our Tmobile plan. Maybe DH would want a beer or two... and I could get some tiny liquors to make it extra fun, lol. And I could *possibly* use the splurge credit for LiveNation before the end of year to upgrade some concert tix to better seats. Then I'm sure I could use it again next year when it resets, as we attend a lot of concerts. I could potentially also use the $100 inflight credits again for our trip next August.

The 90k miles are enticing, and I'd pay a $100 AF for those alone with no extra perks. I'd probably also value the lounge passes at $100. So will I be able to get an additional $150 value out of the card to make the AF make sense? It'll be close for me, probably just because I won't use most of the benefits, like Global Entry/Precheck credit (as we have that on other cards), Turo credit, or Companion Pass (as we always use miles, never cash), and the inflight credit, I'll probably be using it JUST to use it. I wouldn't normally buy drinks/snacks on a flight.

It’s certainly looks like a good deal for you. I don’t know how fast the cards can get to you or if you’ll be able to use Apple Pay Google play overseas if it doesn’t come.

We just used the hotel car service. It's very reliable and nice, but I wouldn't say it's reasonably priced.

I'm not sure when you're going, but when we were there earlier this year I saw whales from the hotel pretty much every time I glanced towards the ocean. Never seen so many in any one place, even Maui.

Finally figured out my Thanksgiving plans. DD and I are going to SW FL. I couldn't deal with the thought of my mom not having someone with her for Thanksgiving. I'm sure someone would have invited her to dinner, but I just felt like she needed someone with her at the house. I spent down $500 of SW flight credits and 62,,500 RR points. And I have no idea which level to book so I booked dd's ticket as Choice Extra to get us checked bags and mine as Choice Preferred. I also booked a car through Costco travel because my flight gets in at 11 PM and we're leaving at 7:20 AM. Uber is also an option but just don't know how available Uber is going to/from RSW. I'm hoping DS will watch my dog because I really don't want to fly with her!

Next up is trying to convince DS to go to SW FL in early January to see my mom.

anyone have jetblue experience? I have the cc,used it to pay the taxes on flight, but the page still showed $40 for a checked bag.... how do I get the free one?
.....aaaand.... (sort of connected with name change stuff) my dis had an old JB aact in her maiden name years ago, recently got the cc and bonus, is now trying to book herself (with married name) and her 3 kids on a flight, page keeps erroring out at purchase points....could it be a name problem?(I told her to call in but I don't use JB too much)

Citi doesn't expedite. I see some Strata Elite DPs that it took about 3 days. That's a premium card, so not sure if the Globe will be treated similarly. General Citi DPs are 7-10.

I’ve always gotten a free bag even it I didn’t use the JB cc. On the JB app under “ mydashboard” it shows I have the JB plus card. Maybe check yours to see if it’s listed there.

Yep, I think you're right about the conversion. I forgot about the Silver card!

Decided I did not want my Silver card converting to the new Citi AA Globe card. My AF just posted so I called to see what my options were.....and basically couldn't downgrade and no retention offer (unsurprising)....so I canceled the card.

The only way I am getting the Globe card is if I get the SUB, and even at that I am not convinced. AA is way down the list of airlines we tend to fly although we have had some decent redemptions with partners in the past.

I just cancelled DH's Aviator Red card this morning since the AF posted. And I applied and was approved for the Citi Globe card, but AA is our primary airline and with our home airport (CLT) being a hub, we tend to get really good redemptions historically. I'm excited to use our first 2 admirals passes (which are already in the AA app, within 5 minutes of getting approved!) to try the new Provisions by Admiral Club at CLT for some grab/go food & drink for lunch on the plane, and then we'll try the Admirals Club in JFK while we wait for our Singapore flight later in the evening (since they are valid for multiple locations in 24 hrs). This will be a burn & churn card for us, as we won't max out the AF value after the first year.

Is it just the Citi personal card that is changing? I have the Citi Advantage Biz, fee will hit in January.

There are no changes to Citi cards.

Citi has introduced a new card that may or may not replace the Aviator Silver card that was issued by Barclay's.
Ha, I do have a Barclays, guess I need to pay better attention. Aviator Red, so that one will not be changed?

Red is pretty identical to their current $99 card. They might try and force people to that one but the Red has wifi credits that I don't believe Citi's current card has.

OK, a WWYD question about using the Chase EDIT hotel $250 credit per the min 2 night stay:

I was planning to wait until 10/26/2025 and make two 2-night reservations (total of 4) in Edinburgh at the same hotel. I would use my new BizCSR to make one of them and pay $250 in cash and the rest with boosted points under my name and then one reservation under P2's name with his old CSR with $250 cash and the rest with boosted points. The boosted points would be about 30k-77k per reservation (last 2 nights are more $$). This should trigger the $250 EDIT credit on both cards.

I can make the reservation now with my card but P2 doesn't get the $250 Edit credit until 10/26/2025. I wanted to do them at the same time to make sure there was availability for the same hotel and room category and not have potentially deal with canceling and rebooking.

We will ask to stay in the same room at check in. I am okay with loosing one of the $100 credits but hope that using 2 separate names/reservations, may trigger the $100 credit for both! :P

The Edit hotel I am planning to book is a IHG hotel. So, now I read that starting 1/1/2026, Chase also will have a $250 credit on select IHG hotels. Now I am second guessing myself. Should I wait until 1/1/2026 to try to double stack the 2 credits? Pay $500 on each reservation to maximize the 2 credits and then pay the balance with boosted points.

I am kind of leaning towards getting in done on 10/26/2025 just because I am impatient and want the reservation done and also to be able to take advantage of using up the 2025 credit.

I have 1 night that I need to reserve in Edinburgh after our 2 night Rabbie Tour before heading to London. Maybe I will wait until 1/1/2026 to make this reserve this one night and use the IHG $250 at the same hotel (so that we can leave our larger luggage with the hotel with on the tour)...

I would just knock out the 2025 credits and this way you know you are done. The IHG states you will not earn points. I assume that means you are not earning IHG points, it would stink if it was CUR that you not earning.

Speaking of IHG if you didn't already have Platinum status make sure you activate that benefit that the CSR is giving you. It doesn't do much domestically but it is supposedly better abroad.
