Is it higher than your temp credit limit? If not just try it. Nothing to lose.Anyone know if we can pay for the the property school taxes online with the temporary Amex number?

Congrats on the approval.Exciting (for me) DP on CIC approval! Wanted this card for a big purchase I had coming up that I wanted to be able to float zero interest on for a while (daycare tuition prepayment- they waive the CC fee and give you a $300 credit if you prepay tuition by $10,000). Decided to try for a CIC first, somewhat skeptical that I would actually be approved with the tightening up that Chase has done recently! Two Chase Ink cards opened within the past 12 months, most recent one was opened 10/1/24. Floating a balance on that one, since it's still at zero interest. Closed an older CIC about 2 weeks prior, so two open Chase business cards at the time of application. Instant approval!
Mostly because I didn't have any CIC left (since I had just closed the one I was holding on to before this application) and I like having a CIC for getting 5x on fee-free Visa/MC at Staples. Admittedly, I didn't do any mental math on how many purchases I'd have to make at Staples for the point difference to be worth it, it was more of a "I like having a cic around, and now don't have one, so I'm going to apply for another!"Congrats on the approval.
Just curious if you have that large of a purchase in a normal category why did you go for the CIC instead of the CIU that has the same 0% but earns 1.5% on everything?
Never the less it sounds like you need a new card already as the daycare will wipe out that MSR![]()
thanks- I think I'll do some cleanup in the next few days.....Chase looks at each person individually, if he does not need that much credit or use the cards I would close some
US bank question. I used the SUB as a statement credit. My auto pay still says a payment of the statement balance (before credit) will be made. But says my current balance is stmt balance less SUB. Will they autopay the stmt balance or current balance?
Thanks. I did apply the credit right after my stmt posted and still have 2 weeks until autopay. Hopefully it does pay the current balance. Just more work if left with a credit balance. It's always autopaid the current balance for me. I do tend to apply the statement credit pretty quickly, so there's at least a couple weeks before the autopay. Not sure if that makes a difference.
Never ended up with a credit on my account except for the time the last statement was less than the SUB.
Nothing happens. The reservation is prepaid already so that's yours to keep. To get the on-site benefits you just have to present any AmEx card to leave on file for charges. I've often used my BBP for the incidentals. I've seen reports of some hotels ask for a Plat, but it's not required so if they won't budge, in that case it's YMMV on getting extras. Otherwise you're entitled to the booking you've already paid for. They won't cancel a reservation.Does anyone happen to know what happens if I use my Amex Plat to book a fine resort or whatever it’s called for the $200 credit, but cancel the card by the time the trip comes? I would like to book a 2 night stay in Nov, use the credit and then cancel the card once the annual fee hits in April. I still have the Amex BBP so I’ll be able to log onto Amex.
I know I won’t get the benefits like breakfast, just want to make sure they won’t cancel the reservation.
I've seen DP's here saying an easy way to use US Bank rewards below $25 was to add to Amazon. I added my Triple Cash Biz card but using rewards isn't an option. Is there anything I need to do other than just adding that card?
Thank you so much. I never knew you had to enroll cards. Chase, Amex, Discover, etc have always just been automatic. You have to enroll the card in Shop with Points. Enter that in the Amazon search bar to find the link to enroll.
I’d get out and take the cable car to the monastery and Big Buddha, take the tram to Victoria Peak for the view, and take the Star Ferry for the view. Maybe check out a street market?Does anyone have any recs for 1 day in Hong Kong? Our JAL flight plan from Vietnam back to the states, with a long (12 hr) layover in Tokyo for shopping, has had a complete itinerary change and the layover is now just 2 hours. We had picked this flight because we wanted a day in Tokyo to shop, and since that can’t happen we’re now considering switching to Cathay Pacific through Hong Kong instead.
We’d be arriving in HK at 11:15pm, get a hotel, and then have the entire next day available until 12:55am.
The obvious choice in my mind for a day in HK is Disneyland, but would we be missing out on something better? I know nothing about this DL, not sure if the rides are redundant or there’s something special/unique to this park. But we’re open to other “can’t miss” HK sights also. TIA!
Spent 4-5 days poking around Hong Kong pre-Covid and while it was cool I don’t think you’re missing out on any life changing experiences if you just go enjoy HKDL. (HKDL is also easy because it’s closer to the airport than the city proper.) I found HK DL interesting, kinda lame if you’re trying to compare to og DL so don’t do that it’s very different, but since then (early May 2019) there have been additions to the park so it should be better. Mystic Manor is truly unique!Does anyone have any recs for 1 day in Hong Kong? In one day after getting in from a flight at midnight local time? You’re crazy!I’d get out and take the cable car to the monastery and Big Buddha, take the tram to Victoria Peak for the view, and take the Star Ferry for the view. Maybe check out a street market?
