I love credit cards so much! v7.0 - 2025 (see first page for add'l details)

I’d get out and take the cable car to the monastery and Big Buddha, take the tram to Victoria Peak for the view, and take the Star Ferry for the view. Maybe check out a street market?
Thanks for the ideas! These all sound interesting; I’ll have to take a look and see if they’re doable in a day and near each other, or if it’s a logistical nightmare for just one day, lol.
Spent 4-5 days poking around Hong Kong pre-Covid and while it was cool I don’t think you’re missing out on any life changing experiences if you just go enjoy HKDL. (HKDL is also easy because it’s closer to the airport than the city proper.) I found HK DL interesting, kinda lame if you’re trying to compare to og DL so don’t do that it’s very different, but since then (early May 2019) there have been additions to the park so it should be better. Mystic Manor is truly unique!

ETA- Frozen land! That’s what they added! And upsized the castle in a massive remodel. @calypso726 I’m having a vague memory you like to hit HKDL when transiting through? Any chance you’ve seen the newer stuff?
Thanks for the info!! Yeah when I looked at a map, HKDL also seemed liked a good logistical choice because it’s on the same island (?) as the airport, so I assume it’ll be easier to get to/from.

Frozen land sounds cool! And I was reading some about mystic manor ride, would definitely go on that. I’m also a sucker for Duffy merch. Other than that, it looks like kind of a small park, but relatively expensive compared to say, Tokyo Disney. I was actually kind of shocked when I looked up the prices!

Chase Marriott Boundless offer - $150 statement credit plus 100,000 points, 3000 spend in 3 months, ann fee 95$.
Do we know exactly when the free night certificate posts? I’m trying to get the timing right to be able to use it in the March and April spring break time.

Thanks.

That all looks good. Guess approval is unpredictable even with only 2 open now. Though holding out hope that it's just identify verification for you.

Closed one recently for DH and he's up next. Guess I'll just have to cross my fingers and try.

That's not an instant denial though. I've gotten that before and then been approved for a biz card.

May be some sort of verification, as crazy as that sounds since you have Chase business cards. I’d also check your Chase online account because sometimes the send the letter there as well
I was hoping maybe it was just verification with denial-esque wording, but no, it was a denial.

We based our decision on the following reason(s)• Too many requests for credit or opened accounts with us• Insufficient business revenue

Reported biz revenue is same as I have always used, just under 3k annually. I only opened 2 Chase cards in 2024. Total credit limit under 36k.
2 biz, 3 personal open. I wouldn't be able to close one biz until May.

I'll probably wait 30 days and try again. Wonder if I possibly left a zero off my revenue or somehow left it blank? Encouraged to see the other Chase approvals, so maybe things are loosening again?

I can tell you that my Chase Marriott Biz card posted on the account anniversary this past year, June 2024, and expires on the same day in June 2025. I no longer have a Chase personal Marriott Bonvoy card.

Not so with the Amex Marriott Bonvoy's - they post approximately 10 weeks after account anniversary.

A question for anyone who has downgraded a Chase card. So I want to downgrade my Dh's United
card to the no fee version. It was opened 1 year ago today. Do we wait for the annual fee to post then
call? Someone on another forum said Chase told them to downgrade on their anniversary date but
before the annual fee hits. Huh? Does that make sense? I would think the fee would hit on the anniv date.

Yes, that makes sense. Chase charges the annual fee the 1st of the month following the anniversary. So if your anniversary date is today, the earliest you'll have an AF charge is Feb 1. The only time Chase would charge the AF on an anniversary date is if you were approved on the 1st of the month.

I plan to downgrade my CSP. My AF will post on 4/1. Should I wait until it posts? I am not concerned about the $50 hotel credit - I already used that and am willing to forgo the next one. I do want to annual bonus URs. Anything else I should be aware of before downgrading? I believe if wait until 4/2 to downgrade, I will get the bonus points and be refunded the AF - is this correct?

ETA: I do not know the exact date the card was opened.

In one day after getting in from a flight at midnight local time? You’re crazy!
Well the other option was HK Disney. I’d rather see something with local flavor vs a Disney park. The Big Buddha area is pretty cool so I wouldn’t miss that. Would start there then do the other stuff based on time.

I guess some people at my husband’s work are surprised we aren’t going to Tokyo Disney during our 3 weeks in Japan. (We are going to Orlando in May so it’s not like we aren’t going to Disney this year).

My last trip there was 2018. I absolutely ADORE Mystic Manor and rode it repeatedly. Between all the new things added at all the Asia parks since then, we are toying with the idea of going back within the next 5 years. We may repeat the China ABD and add in the all the parks. Failing that, we would likely do a cruise on the new Disney ship that the Oriental Land Company is building and then do the Asia parks. Or, simply an all 12 parks in one go trip.

Hey everyone,

My wife and I are working towards CPs through Southwest. We completed the sign-up bonuses for the personal Southwest Chase cards, and I applied for a business card based on my name and ssn through a referral from her card. I received an email back requesting "Proof of physical address and federal tax id for business". I do not have an actual business, we are just trying to get the points. Any recommendations on what I should do next? Thanks!

Agree with Judique - my Marriott personal Bonvoy posts right at account anniversary, Amex takes much longer. When I cancelled and reapplied for a Marriott card in 2023 I did it in August (my Amex anniversary is June) so I would have the 2 free nights both by Sept 1.

Did you apply as sole proprietor with your name as the business name? If so, utility bill and social security card should suffice.

I'm currently going back and forth between the Buddha, and Disney. The big buddha seems like the most cultural/famous landmark/thing that Hong Kong has, so it'd be nice to do. Disney is obviously our passion as well, so that's the other option. I wonder if we could do both in one day if we started really early, lol.

Both in one day is too much! I vote Disney so you can say you've been to that one, and it's closer

Business owner is fine. Business structure should be sole proprietorship, your name as the business name, no DBA.

Many side gigs can count as a business. Reselling is a popular one here.
I applied as business owner with my ssn and my name as the business. but they requested proof of physical address and proof of federal tax ID for the business. Will I need to get an EIN to fulfill this?

DH approved for a biz plat! We've been stuck in pop-up land for over a year. The pre-approved offer showed up on his BBP, 175k for $20k spend. Not the best offer by far, but we got pop-up on the 250k offer.

I think that attempt may have triggered the offer because there was a message about finishing his application. Got an offer not available message after clicking yesterday, but today it worked!

There is a field for legal business stucture on the application. Options are corporation, LLC, non-profit, partnership, sole proprietorship. What did you put?
