I'm also getting ready to close my older CIU plus a Disney card. I want to try and app for the $400 Disney card with a link from my DD.

It's difficult to really know why some are denied. A few years back everyone was getting approved for a CIP. Not me, I was denied. But, the same day I app'd for a CIU as I had one of those 'star' offers. Instant approval.

And I was in PUJ with Amex but a DOC link got me the Surpass. Getting ready to close that and try for Aspire in January.
I thought I was following along on this thread pretty well, but then I see your post about a $400 Disney card and I guess I've been reading through too quickly because I never heard of a good deal on a Disney card. :rotfl:

Regarding the disney card do you know when you use your DD's link it pulls up same 400 offer? Also when she gets the 100 is it $100 or Disney dollars. Thanks
It pulled it up last fall when I referred her. She got the $400 credit (her app) and I got the $100 Disney dollars. (Those also went into the trip pot for all of us.) We were getting ready for our March trip and DD was buying tickets for my grands, so I suggested she offset that cost with the $400 credit signup bonus. I've been watching for it to come around again and it did. This time I'm the one applying. The ticket purchase met the spend in one shot and the credit was applied very quickly - in days.

I've also got it on my calendar to have her product change her card to a no fee at her 1 year mark. She will humor me with an occasional card but I have to keep track of it all.

This will be our third time doing this SUB by referring one another for the fee card. Meanwhile I keep my original no fee card.

Lol, I think it's a good deal on the sign up bonus - spend 1K get $400 SUB plus keep it in the family with $100 disney reward dollars for the link.

I can also pay dues on my DVC with the reward $$ if I choose to do so.

I actually apply for very few cards - maybe 1 biz card a year and maybe 1-2 personal cards over a 2 year period. I was much more active and trying to stay under 5/24 some years back, around 2017 or so. I also tend to hold my cards.

Thank you. Im also trying to figure out ways to cut into a cost for a future trip! I just read the
thread "Disney Debt". As we are cruisers I forgot how expensive it is to go to the parks.

Since I've been using old no expire tickets (still) I was aghast when we checked prices for the girls. DD also had a non expiring ticket.

And on top of that son in law had an old ticket that they weren't all that nice about. He had to pay to use it for less days than it originally had.

Well I just tried to apply for the IHG Biz, my last card was on 8/24/24 for the CIP. And I got a review message. I'm at 4/24 right now. I need a new card as once again I have a bunch of bills to pay. So suggestions outside of Chase if Chase is upset w/ me? I don't think I have any Amex slots right now.

When was your last Chase card before the CIU? If it was say in January, -maybe- I'd consider it. But if it was in March, I'd wait longer.

I used to think no more than 3 open Chase biz was pretty safe, but have been seeing quite a few denials with 3 open lately.

I got the CIP 8/24/24, the CIU 6/24/24 and the previous CIU in 11/23.

I agree it's a good deal if you are going to Disney. I just hadn't heard of this one. Disney trips are so expensive now - any discount you can find is useful.

p2 is at 0/24. I want that $400 Disney savings LOL. He got a CIP at the end of August, think we have a shot at Disney card? I feel like they give the Disney card to anyone who wants one. Neither of us or our kids have ever not gotten one when we applied for one.

Yes and they will give you an insanely high credit line to start off with. It’s like they were trying to entice me to buy DVC on the card.

I just checked DD, they only gave her an $8k credit line LOL.
Maybe it’s because I have lots of credit cards. Which you’d think it would be opposite. DH is going around and around with Chase today over a business card and he has hardly any credit cards at all. Amex declined him and approved me for 2 new ones back to back. His score is higher than mine in the mid 800’s. But he has had hardly any credit cards and I have had a ton. Go figure.

An update. Called Chase. Approved and card expedited. What a relief... on that card. DH had to get escalated to the next review. Funny because he is the one that brings in all the money, I have always been the one with the most credit cards though not him.
Another update. DH was approved card expedited. Chase really knows how to make you sweat!
Just a recap of the DP. I had an older CIP and I applied for a 2nd during the 120k bonus, I transferred 4k of the credit from my old to the new CIP, then closed the card. 3 days later I applied for CIU and was approved.
DH applied for his first ever biz card CIP during the 120k bonus, and applied for CIU 2 days ago and was approved. He applied and got an Amex Delta Gold personal 1 hour before applying for the CIU.

Oh yes a pop up, which I take as a denial, even though Im sure they'd give the card with no bonus, very grateful that Amex does that and lets you decide if you still want to move forward.

The Amex pop-up is a mystery. This is pure speculation, but I imagine it could be some sort of customer profitability score being compared to how much the SUB will cost them. That's why you tend to get pop-up on support links, elevated SUBs, and certain cards. Occasionally, there are links where people who are pop-up prone can get past. Maybe then the threshold is set low.

If you haven't gotten the pop-up at all, you might want to take advantage of this time. While you're spending on for the SUB, they might still see you as profitable. I was able to avoid the pop-up for some time while I was consistently getting Amex cards. It was only after I slowed down that I started getting it.

He applied for Personal Delta Gold and got approved no pop up right after getting the pop up for the Business Platinum. Much lower sub so maybe he's worth 80k co-branded points but not 250k MR. All the points blogs and groups say dont apply again right away. Glad I didnt listen.

The Biz Plat had a 20k spend what is what we needed for a purchase. After I got the 3 new cards I still have 6-7k more and cannot decide if I should go for another or just suck it up and spend the money without a sub, none of the other Amex's look appealing to me right now, except personal platinum but those darn family rules has me thinking its better to wait.

I have been trying to lay low with Chase for a bit and AMEX doesn't like either DH or I right now. Been keeping busy with some US Bank Biz Cards. I have gotten the Triple Cash Biz and Alt Connect and so far DH has gotten the same. Will be going for some more INKs soon, just closed one of DH's and I can get rid of one of mine in late November. Might go for more US Bank Biz Cards too - we have a $16,000 Europe Trip to payoff by February.

Think I figured out next and last move for awhile. I will apply for Amex green. Gambling that they will give me an instant card #. I know the green is a blah card. But then I will be open to a gold sub in future. 40,000 plus 17,500 referral from P2. Annual Fee is 150 but I actually need a 2nd card that gives credit for Clear, so the fee will be a wash or $30 if I consider that a discounted family member is $119 for Clear. Our goal is Delta Points and/or Hawaiian Points.
