Think I figured out next and last move for awhile. I will apply for Amex green. Gambling that they will give me an instant card #. I know the green is a blah card. But then I will be open to a gold sub in future. 40,000 plus 17,500 referral from P2. Annual Fee is 150 but I actually need a 2nd card that gives credit for Clear, so the fee will be a wash or $30 if I consider that a discounted family member is $119 for Clear. Our goal is Delta Points and/or Hawaiian Points.

How are you doing on 5/24 slots? I like to stay perpetually at 4/24 so I can keep getting Chase biz cards. Eventually they fall off and I'll suddenly feel rich in personal slots, but it never lasts long lol.

The Delta gold biz is currently elevated at 90k/$6000 spend, no first year AF.

Im at 1/24, I think. Disney Visa 6 months ago. 2 new Inks and 2 new Amex Biz cards.

P2 is 1/24, I think. 2 new Inks and Delta Gold Personal

Edit re read 5/24 rules and yes we are both at 1/24, wasnt sure if Chase Inks counted towards it

I am disappointed in our Samsung washer that's 2 years old, and doesn't have an agitator. Keep that in mind.

As for love -- our Maytag that was from the 70's JUST went out at our beach house. I loved that thing, and always wanted to move it from our beach house to our home!
I love, love my Speed Queen Industrial. But again, I do not enjoy HE washers of any kind. I like my water! Speed Queen!

Even more confused on what amex actually wants. I applied for Green Personal. Pop up. Took your advice and went for Delta Business Gold approved. 😂 So they love my business but not me for personal and love DH for personal but not for business.

I wish I could get a Delta gold Biz again! I always need Delta miles and I have exhausted all the Delta cards except the top one with the high fee.

I think the high fee one should have free Clear included in the fee, would make it more beneficial.

Anyone have any good experience/recommend the Amex Delta Plat? I'm specifically looking at the companion pass as I may end up paying for a flight with cash this year and not points. Would do the personal for the extended 3 extra months to finish the spend. Not worth the extra 10k points to rush the $4000 since I'm already diverting all spend to two other cards currently.

Hello All !! Looking for assistance on best cards for our trip to Aulani 1/2026. I could ramble on so going to try really hard to stick to the facts and not make this more convoluted than need be. We = me, my oldest DD1 and family (SiL, DGS and DGD), my youngest DD2 and family (SiL, and DGD x 2). Ideally we would like to fly out of Chicago on United NS both ways.

We are all 0/24
for reference I have. I should consider cycling all of them but haven't had time to figure out the process.
AMEX Plat
Delta Plat business
Chase Resv
United (downgraded to the no AF version)
Southwest personal
Southwest business

DD1 and SiL both have
Southwest
Delta Gold

DD2 and SiL both have
Southwest

DD1 is looking at Sapphire Preferred for both her and SIL
They could also both get United

DD2 I'm thinking United personal
SIL United business

I have enough AMEX pnts for me and DD2 and family but it would be nice if she could get enough pnts for at least her and SIL.

Questions (and some comments) below.
DD1 wants to go with CSP, I think CSR is the way to go but maybe in their case one of each, your thoughts please.
I really don't get United's Award system, why can't you just use pnt for flights the way Delta and SW's platforms work?
I was told once that we would not be able to get 9 United Awards seats R/T so wondering if United is a good option?

Delta is an option but when we went in 2023 DD1 and family and I departed from Detroit and had a pretty terrible experience both ways. DD2 and family departed Chicago and had a fantastic experience, which has always been our experience on United to HI. DD1 and I are not up to taking a chance on Delta again if we don't have to, but they do have the best schedule by far after United's NS flights so never say never. I fly Delta all the time just not interested in flying to HI with them ever again.
Also, I used to have access to the Reddit site but seem to have lost it so would like access again if possible.

Thank you, thank you!
Alice

Just an fyi it has to be continental US flight, can't be used for HI.

That wouldn't be a deal breaker but I'm also just realizing you only get the pass the second year and on. Really wanted to be able to use it immediately. Also not good for one way flights I notice which is the way I usually book my flights. I think maybe for that fee I can do better looking elsewhere?

We need an extra full size suitcase for our trip next month, so it will be me, DD and 3 25 inch suitcases. Trying to decide how to get to the BWV from MCO. Is Uber/Lyft a possibility with 3 big bags? Would the XL be the way to go?

Do you have a gold Delta by chance?

I do! P2 just got one as well. That's in addition to a few other AMEX cards like the Plat and Gold whose points are way more flexible. We're just very big on flying with Delta...and JB...but Delta is always a first choice when price/points are negligible

Thanks everyone for helping and answering all my questions. I am done for now. My large purchase of $50,000 is taken care of. (for those interested in DVC, this took my direct purchase down to $127pp assuming a 1 cent value on points, and Im committed to turning that into at least 1.5 cents minimum)

I will earn 1,290,000 points :cool1::tiptoe:
Yup, that's pretty much how we've done it as well! All 450 of our points are direct because CC SUBs have made it worth it for us. This is the way!

Ive read that if you upgrade your Gold to Platinum you will get the companion pass at your 1 year even if you didnt have the Platinum all year. But that would make it no sub unless you get an upgrade offer.
