I'm flying out of Logan next week with my daughter who's 16 and my sister. I have a Chase Sapphire Reserve and we plan to go to the lounge. I've never been to an airport lounge before and don't want to embarass myself. So please tell me what I need to know. Will the 16-year-old be allowed in? Is everything free? Do you tip? Anything else I should be aware of? Thanks!!
You’ll need your PP card, and yes your daughter can join (2 guest), everything is free (some alcohol may not), most tip the bar. Sometimes I’ll leave a couple dollars if we have a lot of dishes.

With all the CIU/CIP denials, is it wise for me to cancel my CSR and app for another? I hit 48 months on December 28th. Also when should I cancel the CSR before re-applying.
I'm a bit nervous about doing this since I'd have to cancel my CSP as well, meaning I'd lose good redemptions on Sapphire products.

Sorry about the denial. :(

Both you and @georgina closed one fairly recently. So I'm not sure if it needs to be 1 open now or if the closure was too recent. Or if there's some completely different criteria now. Feels like the change happened this month, just like how it seems the last change happened after the start of October.
Closed my CIP on Nov 1, so have 2 Chase biz cards open. Denied for CIU :(. Wanted to get in on the elevated bonus. Reasons -

too many requests for credit or opened accounts with us
• Insufficient business revenue

My last Chase card was CIU on July 8. CIC opened in Jan. Sounds like what many others were told on denial.

Same reasons as @georgina

Too many requests for credits or opened accounts with us
Insufficient business revenue

I do wonder if the recently closed accounts are factoring into this decision. This first denial definitely stings since we aren't really big churners. Any thoughts on trying recon?

Do you have a CIP or something you can PC to a CIP or CSP/R if you are denied? I book a lot (400K+ URs for next year in either portal or transfers to partners). I don't think I could give up a transfer partner/portal opportunities. That said, I don't think there have been data points of denials on personal like on business.

Add me to the list of CIU denials >:(

Was this recent? How many Chase biz open and were any closed recently?

If you closed, you'd need to wait 30 days. You can PC to a Freedom, then you just need to wait 4 days.

I have 2 open, 1 CIC and 1 CIU, haven't closed any Chase cards at all. I don't have a reason yet, but I do have a Chase CL that equals my income so that might be it.

It seems like a form letter response! I personally would not try recon. I'm going to give it a month and try again, probably for a CIP. I'm at 4/24 so don't want to try a non-biz card.

Saw this on FB, no clue how valid it is. But thought I’d share. There’s a comment that someone else was told the same by a rep.

“Update from Chase.
Just called to recon my Monday application (first time calling). Underwriter was very nice, said that my application is not eligible for recon BUT he said it’s for another reason! He said tons of people got denied recently because chase is thinking there was/is some points scam. That they mailed paper letters to everyone, and that letter will have a number to call.
Anyone else get this story???”

I’ll add my CIU DP

Instant approval on Nov 3rd $6k limit
Currently hold:
CIC-opened 1/24
CIP-opened 6/24

Opened 2 Inks in 2023, which were closed at their 1yr mark. Keep my total Chase credit at approximately 20-30% of household income. I’m usually over 5/24 so my velocity with them is slower than most.

I would PC one or both of the Sapphire cards to Freedoms, this way if for some reason you aren’t approved you can PC back to a sapphire in the future

CIU - Approvals
DH - Approved with 2 open Biz Cards (CIC and SW)
DS- Applied last night. Forgot to unlock credit. Unlocked this morning. Called Chase and was Approved. He does not have any other Chase Biz Cards open at this time.

Happy to see approval with 2 open DPs! If you had a 3rd, how long ago was it closed?

I didn't call, but I can see the denial letter online. It doesn't say anything about a number to call, just the usual denial reasons I posted above.

I'm a pretty restrained churner in my own opinion but have decided to give my take on this anyway.

I'm now past 48 months with my CSP. I use this card on a regular basis and would not want to lose it on a denied application.

Given that, instead of doing an app for it I decided to keep it and apply for biz cards with Chase. I was approved for the 90K CIU in September which was better than a CSP sub. I also intend to bump up for some upcoming hotel stays and a bit of travel to a CSR. I realize I may have got in under the wire with the CIU.
Isn't it possible to bump up from a Freedom? Not sure on that, but for some reason I've been keeping over 10K credit line on that card based on previous info.

I also figure with Chase that they will tighten up on biz cards for a bit and then it will turn free for all again.
