DH and I are fixing to refer each other back and forth for the Southwest offer. We also have a business that can qualify for the business card. Does it matter which one we apply for first? Does the 3 month rule matter since it’s one biz, one personal? I forget how we did it 3 years ago

Normally, I'd say the biz, but the elevated offer on the personals is expiring soon (public link is tomorrow, support is 10/17). There's a 1/30 application rule on the biz cards, so you'd need to wait at least 30 days after the personal.

3 months is a rule of thumb and applies to both biz and personal. It depends on how soon, how fast you've gotten other Chase cards. The number of Chase biz cards you have open also matters now for biz card approvals.

I was also busy cancelling our trip Oct 10-13th. We were staying at BCV so DVC put those points back, but now we have about 60 points that have to be used before our UY expires. Used the chat to cancel our LLMP (thanks to those on another thread that suggested this!). Only had one flight but it had been partially used, so the agent had to send it to another department to get the points for the return portion back. She said it would take at least a week for the points to refund and they were only doing this because of the storm. Note to self: book more one way flights that can be easily cancelled! We will just be hanging out in SC. The debris from the last storm was just picked up in our neighborhood on Friday, so we will busy again this weekend. Thinking of all those that are still suffering from Helene and those in the path of Milton.

So many different pieces to cancel. Just got off the phone with Chase - Delta was allowing full refunds. So, got my points back for that. Would've taken the voucher except they had to be used by May. Our upcoming trips already have air purchased.

What is funny is that Delta cancelled our flight and then automatically rebooked us for another flight the same day... UMMM - Airport is still closed. Oh well. Got it all figured out and done.

I think I’ll do the personal first since it is expiring soon. I don’t want any of the bonus points to post till after the first of the year which is why I waited as long as I could! We want the companion passes for the kids. Thanks!

Ugh. I just realized the 40k support points from P2 haven't posted. The P1 app'd for an CIU on 8/31 and had instant approval. What are the chances of these posting soon? Or do I need to SM? If I need to SM, any ideas on language?

You'll need to wait the full 8 weeks in the terms before they'll look at it. Some of the supports have been weird. Took longer than usual and then eventually posted as an "adjustment". There are even some DPs of it going to the new card that was opened.

Unlike Amex, Chase won't approve you if you're not eligible. If you're approved, you're good.

quoting this one more time..... so this applies to cobrands..... what about the different flavors of cobrands? say swa, premier,basic etc, are they all considered the same, or different products?

Check the new CIU and see if you see points pending there. I supported DH for a card in July or August and the support points and the bonus both went to his card somehow. I never contacted Chase because we pool points anyway.

Biggest concern here in Naples is the surge. Anyone west of 41 is supposed to evacuate. Our winds are supposed to be gusts to about 60mph(we've had worse). Ground is saturated so maybe trees will still be an issue.
I hope your mom is safe!

My mom is just east of Airport Pulling (maybe in Zone C?). I'm definitely worried But mainly about her being without power. The trees make me nervous too though. It's a community with mature landscaping so lots of very large trees.

Y’all, look what showed up in my hometown!!! This is over Lake Michigan last night. It was amazing to experience. You couldn’t really see it very well with the naked eye, mostly through the lens.

No. The only exception may be if it is an EDIT hotel, which is similar to FHR, you may need to present the CSR for them to honor benefits. But I am not sure about that and 99% of hotels aren't EDIT hotels.

When I did a prepaid booking through the portal when I arrived they just wanted any card for incidentals they didnt care if it matched what I booked with.

Trees and power were the main things that affected us in SC with Helene. We were without power for 7 days, and trees blocked most roads for at least the first 3-4 of those days and made it hard to get anywhere. We did not have a generator so it was a huge ordeal. I hope your mom fares ok.

Thanks for posting this. BOA will also be giving an additional 2% CB on purchases made on 11/7/24. I will need to make another payment for our cruise then to get the additional CB. Maybe AMEX will have another Celebrity offer in the near future.

Don't make my mistake; be careful not to meet the minimum spend until after Jan 1. Me and my Dad (my sometimes P2) went for the CP around this time last year using supports for each other. I was guiding him through it and realized that I told him the wrong MSR amount. It was already too late for him by the time I realized; his pts posted at the end of Dec. I would have been in the same boat, but I ended up being safe by a couple of days. I was so stressed waiting to see what would happen those last couple of days. Luckily, my parents ended up not needing the CP this year.
