Chase has a flaw on the business cards. Personal cards select the card you came from, business cards show the first card in the list. Can you check the top of the page for a drop down list? It looks like this when I do it from the app, the web should be similar -

At the bottom of the list are my business cards, but instead of "Credit Card" they show my first initial, last name before the 4 digits.
Yes, sorry I wasn't clear... that's what I was doing (going through that dropdown and selecting each card to see what the text underneath looked like. Every single one changed to be the same card I was selected on EXCEPT for the CIP which showed the IHG card... so weird!

"He" was able to apply using the method @eticketplease noted above... so now we wait.

Thank you!

Reminder for people with the personal Amex Gold card - Dunkin' Donuts $7/mo and Resy $50/semiannual is open for enrollment now, and it does require enrollment because it's not an automatic benefit.

Looks like both DH & I will fall under the new increased fee of $325...by 24 days. Boooo.

And this does work on purchases made through the Dunkin app, FYI. Also, I was new to the Dunkin app and new accounts get an offer for a free drink with any order for two weeks.

I've never used Resy, so that will be new for me.

Apple Card has a SUB right now thru 9/3, which I’ve heard is pretty rare. Honestly - doesn’t seem like a great card unless you use Apple Pay for the 3% at certain merchants, but the SUB is an easy target to hit. I was just looking for a couple cards to get some free money for our upcoming Disney trip - (thru buying DGC at Sam’s), and this was one of the few that would approve me (I’ve been churning a lot this year lol).

$100 for $500 spend in the first 60 days

I wonder if my husband managed to at least get a SUB when he took this card :rotfl:

how much do you need to pay off on the contract ? The CIP(Preferred…don’t get the Premier) and CIU usually have lower credit limits given…I’ve seen as low as $3,000 or $5,000.
Chases personal cards usually get much higher limits but as you pointed out the bonus isn’t as high as the Inks
Yeah my husbands was 6k limit. Which sucks. I have about another 14k to go

Very true but they should be able to transfer some of the credit line from their other CIP to help.
If not wanting to tie up all of your cash the CIU would give you an 0% for 12 months but obviously not as many points.
This would be great. Won’t work for my husbands small CL they gave him since it’s his 1st biz card. Glad I have that option for my account.

Apple Pay will not work to get you extra % back.

Sam’s App and the store do not accept it.

I thought iPhone safari used to work but it is not giving me the option now

Went ahead and applied for CIP with my husbands referral. I got the dreaded under review message. Fingers crossed it will approve before the 120k offer expires. I had seen 09/05 but then somewhere I read 09/02. Anyone know for sure which it is? On the referral side of things if I applied while active should it still post as 40k or does is it go by when card is issued?

I guess at minimum I will get 120k if the extra bonuses don’t workout.

If it approves you will get the bonus based on when you applied. Doesn't matter if it subsequently changes to a lower bonus.

9/2 is the referral for 40K. You should get that since the card process was started.

I would take a screenshot of the 120K offer so that they can match that when approved.

Global Entry comes with TSA Precheck and you use the same number, but they are separate things. TSA Pre is what you use when going through security at airports in the US. You'll see TSA Pre printed somewhere on your boarding pass if it's attached correctly.

Global Entry is what you use when going through border control coming back into the US. I don't know if you need to attach the GE number in order to use this. From your example, it sounds like it doesn't since from start to finish, your number was not attached, yet you were able to go through the GE line.
I think you're right- thanks for the explanation. I think it was bc AK air didn't properly attach the # to our tickets that we had some problems.

Sooooo opinions? Better deal right now, CiU or CiP? basing this on if support links work at 40k, and matching to higher bonus works too..... 8k vs 6k spend- debating...... I don't have all that much to spend on right now..... FRom my calculations - CiP would net 158,500 (after AF,regular spend) and CiU would net 136k..... difference of 22,500. ($225.00) WWYD?

If you don't have the spend I don't know that I would chase the 8K.

CIU has 0% for 12 months.
Assuming you didn't charge anything else after meeting the minimum spend and just paid the monthly minimum...
You can stash the $6K in a savings account that only earns 3% and you would have about $180 in interest so that takes down your $225 to $45 more for the CIP but having to spend $2k less.

On the other hand you are simply factoring the cash rate if you used the portal at 1.25 cpp the 158K $1,975 vs the 136k $1,700.
In this scenario you would lose the value of $90 in rewards if choosing the CIU but again $2k gets to stay in your purse.

Updated data point on a canceled flight on VA from LHR home. They tried to lowball us, but when we mentioned UK261 they offered the full amount for both us. They didn't want to pay for our expenses, but we submitted them again and they again lowballed us. DH tried one last time (telling them that all we asked them to pay for 1 meal with a 24 hour delay plus one airport hotel room for one night and it's not like we chose a a luxury hotel or something). They finally agreed to pay it all in full. So not bad, but really bad customer service for making us work this hard for us plus making us find our own flight home so it didn't become a 48 hour delay based on what they chose. On the phone, the VA rep told us to look for our own flight, which we did (but we were sailing in the middle of the North Sea with a satellite connection vs. the agent who was sitting there on the computer).

Sorry for the TL/DR post here.
Summary - you have to know your rights with these airlines and be willing to state your case a few times because they hope that you'll take less than you should because of the hassle, plus I can now say that I prefer BA to VA flying from LHR, even thought the VA lounge is pretty cool.

I need to transfer a small amount of URs to United to top off for a flight. In everyone's experience, is the transfer immediate (like Hyatt), or does it take a day? It's been so long since I transferred to United, I can't remember. And the pts price for flights FINALLY went down today... I don't want it to take long to transfer and the price go up, lol.

Perfect, thanks for your fast reply!! Just transferred, and it's already there :)
Hopefully you are not using the pooling feature because its instant to Chase but then if you need to transfer to the family pool it takes another 24 hours.

Ended up having to transfer more points as the flight I was trying to book went up in that waiting period.
