Guys... my DH is just wild, lol. After getting SO upset when we had to cancel Yellowstone this year (after the flooding), he insisted we rebook as soon as possible. That was slated to be May 2023. Now he's on a totally different path... We're looking at getting a small camper next year, now that DH is getting his truck, and he wants to travel around with our dogs to the national parks/state parks as much as we can. He's tired of leaving our dogs everytime we travel, worries that something may happen while we're gone, and wants the most time with them left that we can have. The dogs are 2 and 6, so still young, but he wants to be able to hike and take them everywhere and for them to be able to enjoy/keep up and have the energy still. He also wants us to have the energy for it! I don't disagree, but you can see where I'm going with this....
After so much planning of Yellowstone (for the second time!), all parts have been cancelled. We're re-focusing on doing our 2 international trips next year instead - Japan (in May) and Europe (in Nov/Dec). Those will be the last longish trips we take for awhile, as we're planning for 2024 and beyond to be mostly park trips or beach trips that we can take the dogs. We may add in Costa Rica at some point in 2024 too (since we'll have the URs for that), but we'll see. We figure it'll take at least 2-3, maybe 4 years to get to all the US national parks on our list (Yellowstone, Tetons, Olympic, Mt Rainier, Glacier, Yosemite, Sequoia, Lassen Volcanic, Crater Lake, Capital Reef, Arches, back to Zion again, etc.).
SO, Japan has been booked, LOL. This week has just been nuts with cancelling and booking everything so "last minute" (5 months out is what I consider last minute in this case). Japan flights and hotels have all been secured. What else do I need to be looking at this far out? I know Disney tickets I can't get until about 2 months out... what about JR Rail pass? Is that a certain time frame?

jr pass is 2 weeks out from the youtube rabbit hole ive been in, but i would go a month out i heard it doesnt activate until you actually go there so this is what im doing personally.

What is the travel site that you can check multiple travel type points? ((UR, Cap1, Amex). My son is trying to fly to Frankfurt Germany from Orlando. I swore he had a nonstop on Lufthansa last December to the same destination that I booked him on United points. I’m familiar with United but looking for any other airline deals on points. He wants to leave around January 15.

So anyone have this happen? I was trying to do the Wells Fargo bank bonus. It's for $325 (I think). I opened online, all seemed good. But everytime I went to create my online account I got errors. Today I got an email saying they couldn't open my account. If I wanted to open it I had to go to a branch (there are none in MI). Reading on DOC it seems normally people are rejected when they put in their zip codes. Not after it says you're account is approved. ***. I wonder if it's even worth calling on.

I wanted to get this bank bonus knocked out and then once I get the insurance check from my dad, I was planning on doing the huntington bonus for $1k. I guess it's back to the drawing board looking for another bonus.

So this was about a year or so ago but the error I ran into doing one of their bonuses was a tech glitch when I went to register online. I called the number it said to call and they got it straightened out, it was due to my previously having a login a couple years back that went dormant. Alas, at no point was I told they couldn't open the account and to go in branch.

If you want a chance at the bonus you'll have to call them. It should be a pretty simple call, either they can help you on the phone or peace out.

@Albort I have been off for a few days but I did have a Disney GC issue purchased through disney.com
I had to call customer service to get it sorted. Their return communication was not fabulous (they were supposed to call me when it was resolved but did not... but they did resolve it).

So it wasn’t PayPal I called. I thought it was but it was on the bogus invoice. Anyway, thinking it was PayPal I was an idiot and let them remote into my laptop. When they asked me to login to my bank I got suspicious and told them I would do that on my phone. He told me my phone was compromised and I said this sounds like a scam and he hung up on me. Now I am trying to clean up the mess. Joy.

I just found one of these invoices in my Paypal Account. I tried to call actual Paypal to confirm but just got dead air, no one answered. I googled the number listed in the transaction itself and it was a nothing number. I hit cancel on the transacition, hopefully that is the end of it.
I never got an email though, just happened to see it in my account.

I've had it happen twice and I've just canceled and changed my password and that has been it. One of them is just hanging out canceled in my PP account.

Or you just don't find anything near your terminal when at the airport?

i search and aeither nothing in the terminal I'm in or just a relaxation suite. no restaurants appear.

My last post reminded me, I've been meaning to post but didn't want the sad news with the holiday weekend. Also, reactions are preferred, I know how we all feel about our pets and while it's appreciated, no need to comment sorry etc.

Tues before Thanksgiving after I brought the boys back in from 1st potty Dude lost the ability to stand/walk on his back legs. I was able to get him into his vet that morning (which emergency vet couldn't do) and they did xrays. The hope was since he still had feeling that it was disc disease and we'd give him steriods. Wed at almost vet close the dr calls and that's what it was but they also found a tumor on his spleen. Nothing we could do about anything until Fri so left to think it over. Plan that evening was to ignore the c and try the steriods so he could hopefully walk again.

Overnight he started getting sick every couple of hours. When we finally got up he didn't really want to eat, no matter what we tried. By evening he was so frustrated and still not wanting to eat or drink and still getting sick. I knew at that point that even if it was stress that was causing it, he had to eat to take meda and not get sick so the meds stayed in his system. It wasn't what any of us wanted but I had to think of him.

We took Tux with us so he was there with my mom and I. He had one last snuggle up to him and understood what happened. This was important to me because I wanted him to understand and be able to grieve. It's also been a huge relief/help to not have him looking for Dude. He does cry more when I'm gone and shook in the car when we went somewhere which he normally doesn't. He is driving us nuts wanting to play all the time though.

I'm glad to have Tux so the house isn't quiet and empty. I never wanted 2 dogs, he was Dude's dog and I told him I'd take good care of him. He turns 1 next week.

Yes I was surprised both LIR and SJO have PP lounges. We'll be flying home from SJO so it might be an option. We fly out of MDW though and it's sadly lounge free.

I’ve been booking most of my overseas flights by either transferring URs to United or earned United CC points. I’m ready to branch out and look at other options. I may be going to Latvia with my adult son in January. He wants to do a stopover in Frankfurt to visit his sister. Point.me looks like a great option. I’ll also be traveling to Germany again in April and September. I like United because it’s so easy to change dates or cancel flights. And taxes are low. I usually pay $5.60 for a nonstop over and about $140 coming back. Are there other points sites to help find the best deal to book flights? I don’t mind paying a membership. I just need to be able to book with flexibility. I have URs , MRs and Cap1 points.

Answering my own question: Yes you can! I just called them. There was a blip in the system that wouldn't allow me. Problem solved in a matter of a few seconds!

Wooo, I finally had a Kohl's offer. I think mine sells GCs. Can I use it on that? I just bought a bunch from Kohls last week it would have been nice to have the offer then, LOL.

So I loaded the Kindle offer onto my freedom card. I made that card active in my Amazon acct. But Kindle is "one-click" check out. And if you have a giftcard loaded in your acct (my son did) then it pulls from that. Needless to say, I was NOT happy. I called and Amazon was like we can refund you, but if you buy it again, it'll just pull from the giftcard again. GRRR!

So that said, is there a way for kids to have their own accts under mine? This time of year, I normally change the password to lock them out of our amazon acct so they don't see what I'm buying. The BF and I have discussed sharing an Amazon acct, but he's worried about the same thing, I'll see gifts he buys me, LOL. For the $3478473 Prime is now, there has to be a way to do this!

There's a way to share prime within a household. My mom is linked to me but the only stuff of hers I see is kindle books. For some reason it connects that which given how many library books she gets for her kindle is uber annoying. It does also share payment methods so I could pick her card or vice versa. But my orders are just my stuff. Also not notified of her stuff just my own. So as far as I know it's just those 2 things that share, at least that I've seen.
