If it were me, I would just give them a ring now and see if there's anything they need to move the application around. It may be adjusting credit limits, or identity verification. I haven't needed to call often, but when I have, they are easy to talk to- not necessarily overly friendly, just a fact based conversation.

I was going to take your advice, but when I logged into my account to check for a possible status update first, I saw the new card listed, so it was approved! It does look like they moved some of the credit from my SW card and my Sapphire, which is perfectly fine. At least if I have to owe taxes I can get a bonus in the process!

Has anyone ever applied for a biz card and the name was to long? Was trying to apply as sole prop. on the Barclays AA biz and I can’t use full name in the box legal business name. Any suggestions.

I just use first and last for sole prop name. They ask for full name as part of the app. If that doesn't fit can you shorten your first name? Like Matthew to matt or katherine to kate? Reasonable to me you may do that for a biz name since it would be what people know you as.

Over the weekend I applied for the CapOne Venture X and was instantly approved :cheer2: I'm really interested in seeing how I use the card and its points as compared to the CSR and Plat (well, after I get through the MSR first lol). I may be dropping either the CSR or the Plat when AF time comes around in late summer/early fall. I'm not a fan of lifestyle-type credits---we don't regularly use Lyft or Uber, we don't need Peloton, Equinox or SoulCycle products, we don't use food delivery apps, etc. I much prefer straightforward hotel or airfare or general travel credits.

I'm terrible at applying for new cards, for the 3rd time I've forgotten to unfreeze my credit. I don't have a problem calling Chase but this time is Barclays AA Business card. At what point do I call? or will they call me?

Does buying a few Hyatt points extend point expiration? I have no chase travel cards or woh card to transfer points from . I got an email saying at the end of the month my 20k points will expire.

"Active Members can remain active in the Program by (i) receiving points via authorized means, (ii) receiving credits with a partner in the Program for a stay at a Hyatt hotel or resort, (iii) redeeming points (and, if applicable, completing any reservation for which such points were redeemed), (iv) gifting a Program award (in accordance with these Terms), (v) converting points to Partner Loyalty Points (as defined in Appendix B), (vi) purchasing or combining points, or (vii) having a valid Hyatt co-branded credit card, including the World of Hyatt Credit Card and/or World of Hyatt Business Credit Card (collectively, “Hyatt-branded Credit Card”) associated with the Member’s Program account."

Well friends, I did it. I pulled the trigger on Paris. Air France had 6 seats left at 22,000 each so I knew I needed to book before those were gone. I had to transfer 24,000 MRs to Flying Blue and 10K Marriott points because DH was 6K AA points short for the return trip (22K points each).
Hyatt Concierge booked a point advance reservation at Hyatt Regency Paris Etoile. We are down to 40K URs because I just spent over 100,000 URs booking Hawaii excursions. I plan to use those URs to pay for our AirBnB near Disneyland, last thing I need to book.

Time to cancel the Shades of Green reservations we have.

I bought two items (same price for both) from an online store using a Chase offer - 10% back up to $17. I received the full $17 bonus on a $205 purchase. I returned one of the items (was refunded exactly half of the $205.) Will Chase claw back that portion of the bonus? I don't mind if they do - just wondering what to expect. TIA!

I wouldn't wait for them to call you. It's been my experience that it's better to be proactive with Barclays. They can be a pain.

we went to DLP over thanksgiving a few years ago and had so much fun! Definitely bring gloves, scarves, hats, etc. we also had family photos taken in front of the Eiffel Tower and they are some of my very favorite photos we have! Have fun

I see so many paying taxes to meet MSR
aren't there fees to put taxes (property, income) on a cc?

we owe a small fortune in federal and state income taxes as well as our high nj property tax.

thinking of a bus card with high msr won't be a problem if it's cost effective

thanks

There are fees, but it's worth it to get a bonus you wouldn't otherwise get. For federal tax, the cheapest processor is 1.87%. State tax and property tax will depend, something around 2.5% is pretty common. If the fee with debit card is cheaper, you can do Paypal Key (doesn't work with Amex).

How did you find a photographer? That sounds like an amazing idea.

Congrats! I am going to DLP for a quick trip in August as part of a 2 week trip. I have been to Paris, but not DLP. i am hoping the testing and vaccine pass requirements are lifted by then.

I have some AA miles. I was wondering if they can be used for a disney hotel? I remember reading about it awhile ago but can’t find any information or how it works.

Is there a timing that is needed between a Cap1 Biz approval and applying for a Cap1 personal card?
