Just got back from WDW so now I'm really behind!
Any waved fee offers on Visa GCs that I'm missing?
I always go the the first page of the Disney gift card deals thread and search for, "Visa." There are a bunch of offers that exclude Visa gift cards, but there are many others specifically for Visa gift cards. You just have to see if the retailer is available in your area. I've found smokin' deals at Hy-Vee grocery store this week, but its a regional chain. https://www.disboards.com/threads/updated-disney-gift-card-deals-and-more.3784942/

Did you have to wait for his Plat to come in the mail to add the card to his account? I feel like my cards never automatically load. That’s going to cost me some time in generating a support link before 12/1. Any tips?

With AmEx you have to add the card to the account, it isn't automatically linked like Chase. After you are approved they give you a link to login or create an online account. If you are instantly approved during the application process you can do it then. I think it's after the instant number option. If you missed it or it wasn't instantly approved, there is a link in the approval email to setup your online account. (Subject is something like "Your American Express application was approved!")

I signed up for the Disney Visa before I started credit card churning. I don’t think it’s worth a 5/24 slot but since you and your husband are at 0/24 you can probably take the hit if you want the card. It will get you discounts in the parks and special meet and greets but IMO that’s the only reason to get it. If I were you I would try for the Citi Premier. The bonus is 80,000 points for $4,000 spend in three months. It has a $95 annual fee but has a good amount of 3x spend categories. When I got the card most of my spend was for Disney tickets for my trip in May 2022. That earned me 3x points for the travel purchase.

Another option is the Capital One Venture X. It’s new and very popular. The high annual fee can easily be made up by the perks. Check out the link below for more details.

(link removed from quote because I think it's keeping me from posting since I'm a noob!)

So if I have an annual passholder in my party (my mom, who is local and not in the hotel, but will be with us most of the time otherwise), then it sounds like there is very little reason to get the Disney Visa at this point, since I think a lot of the discounts overlap, don't they?

Thanks for clarifying, and for pointing out some AF cards we might consider. The AMEX Blue Cash Pref is our only AF card right now, and we easily max 6% on groceries each year which has it pay for itself and then some. Well, I guess our Costco Citi has a fee that goes with our membership, but that also easily pays for itself just on 4% gas with my 100 miles of daily commuting... 😒

I'm kind of over the "keeping track of rotating categories" thing that I used to do, so I will look at some solid rewards cards we can use for regular spending. We dine out a lot, so I should probably go look at Savor again, as well.

Given that we are staying CL (Poly and AK) for 8 total nights, I see no issues hitting minimum spend for most offers, but in the past when I was paying down debt, I was all about that 0AF 0%BT rewards life, but now that we have knocked it all out, I never really restrategized my card selection to consider cards with an AF.

Glad I posted - thanks for the advice!

Anyone know of a good resource list for people who only want no AF cards. I have family who want in on the game but have no comfort with AF and probably couldn’t be trusted to remember to cancel or PC. I’m wondering if there’s a “look at this cool sign up path you could do without any AFs” so I don’t have to do this myself

Why not talk with a rep? Worst case they say no but you're already thinking denial. I hate talking with people but I did call on an app once. It was a pain, they were counting my AU status against me and absolutely wouldn't budge. So at least I knew the issue and not to app again before something dropped off.
Maybe it's something easy like identity verification.

it looks wonderful.....do you mind sharing which hotel?I'm always on the lookout for good places in FL to stay....
Hyatt Regency. It is a great location, wonderful breakfast as a Gloablist and an upgrade to a 1 bedroom Gulf view suite. Last time we were upgraded to a 2 bedroom Gulf front but it’s thanksgiving and much busier.

Now that I’m getting further into the AMEX world I’m wondering if you guys keep all your cards under 1 login, or do you separate them out? Is there any benefit to having each card with its own login? Upgrades? Offers? Obviously it’s easier to just have 1 login for all my accounts, but I’m wondering if I’m missing anything by keeping them together. Thanks

One login for all.

One login that has personal and Biz. MRs are all pooled under one person and you can and only add an offer to one card.

There's probably a dozen websites that come up on a google search. My favorites are Citi Double Cash (no SUB), all the Chase Freedoms, Discover (doubled rewards on everything the first year), and BoA Customized Cash Rewards. The Citi Custom Cash is intriguing too, and the Chase Ink Cash if they can get it.

I am trying to get organized for our trip in Dec. I would like to do online check In at Hard Rock Orlando. I booked using Chase URs thru there travel portal. I can see the reservation, it has a Chase # and another confirmation number. Neither one works on the Hard Rock site. Is there a way to get the number?

I'd call the hotel to get it plus it'll let you confirm the booking directly.

What would be the benefit to online check-in? You still need to go the front desk and check-in in order get your room keys that serve as your EP. They will be specific per party member.
