I wouldn't worry about it. Pretty sure Chase doesn't approve you if you don't qualify for the SUB. You can also try the app to see if the tracker shows up. I think it's known to be unreliable.

Thanks for talking me off a cliff. Lol. Will wait to see before panicking. Do you know when the bonus for a support link normally shows up? Thanks.

I used Paypal yesterday to buy my couches and after the warnings on here of Paypal switching cards I was a bit freaked out since I have three Amex cards ending in the same four digits. Thankfully it looks like the charge went on the right card but I'll be extra careful in the future.

So, DH was able to do the MDD sometime in September. He got the CSR (approved 9/22) card first because they overnighted the card to him. So, we started using that first. The CSP (approved 9/21) came by snail mail and then was declined when he tried to use it even though we verified it online when received. He finally called and had the hold lifted on the card. The rep said it was not verified as received properly. Whatever. We have since made some charges on it.

The problem now is that when we log into his Chase account, under the CSR reward activity, it shows you are $xxx.xx away from your 60,000 bonus points, but there is NADA under his CSP rewards activity. There is no new account bonus category under rewards activity for his CSP! Should we be worried? Should he SM? Call? Wait until he completes his CSR SUB before he inquires about his missing CSP SUB?

Argh...
The SUB tracker doesn't work for all cards. You should still receive the SUB, have you tried checking on the Chase App?

Southwest Companion Pass Update
So we've reached October DISchurner friends... and that means that we are officially in CP season. Yes, it's that time of the year where you can easily time your MSR and SUB to hit in 2022 and score a CP for as much as 23+ months!

I have my Fireside Chat with SouthFayetteFan on the Southwest Companion Pass HERE on DISchurners and I advise anybody interested in the Southwest Companion Pass (SW CP) to give it a full read. I'm going to post a few highlights here:
  • You qualify by either (a) fly 100 qualifying one-way flights or (b) earn 125,000 qualifying points in a calendar year. Once you qualify for the CP, you will have it for the remainder of that calendar year and ALL of the following calendar year. Most of our focus is around the 125k points option as it's easiest to achieve this through Chase credit card SUBs.
  • Not ALL points earned will qualify. Of note, transfers from Ultimate rewards DO NOT qualify. Also, transfers from hotel programs such as Marriott or Choice DO NOT qualify. You cannot earn a CP from transferring points so don’t try it. If you see an article that recommends this it’s either OLD or you should never trust that source again! For more details on what does or does not qualify see this page on the Southwest website.
  • AGAIN: Once you qualify for the CP, you will have it for the remainder of that calendar year and ALL of the following calendar year. Because of this, people attempt to earn the CP as early in the year as possible. You can have your CP for as little as <13 months and as much as 23+ months. Of course 23 is > 13 so most people want that.
  • Remember, you CANNOT have your bonus post in 2020 and have it count towards a 2021 CP – do not mess this up. For most people it’s easiest to just wait and meet the MSR on Jan 1 to avoid any stress around this issue.
  • You'll want to pay special attention to the "Am I Eligible" section if you have earned a SUB on any SW Card in the past 24 months.
There’s basically 3 strategies here which may or may not get you all 125k points - So make sure you do your math based on the current offers available:
1) TWO Southwest Business Cards
2) TWO Southwest Personal Cards which must be done via a MDD
3) ONE Southwest Business Card and ONE Southwest Personal Card

For anybody currently looking at a 2022/2023 CP your best bet to start on that path is the Southwest Performance Business Card and you can begin that now if you want. That offer, available via DISchurners support link, is for 80k SW RR points for $5k spent. Pairing that with a 2nd SW Business card will easily crush the CP requirement!

I am really NOT crazy about the current personal card 40k offers so I'd steer clear there if at all possible. If anybody wants help with their Southwest Companion Pass strategy, I'm available to chat about it!

Good Luck and Happy Companion Pass Season to all of you!

You read my mind! I was going through and debating these scenarios today.

The SUB tracker doesn't work for all cards. You should still receive the SUB, have you tried checking on the Chase App?

We did not check on the Chase App yet. We only checked on the laptop. Just freaked out a bit because switching between the 2 cards CSP and CSR was so different.

Just checked on the App and the SUB tracker is there for both cards.

Thanks to everyone calming me down!

Unfortunately, the offers for Daily Getaways are pretty terrible. At least for now, there are no attraction tickets at all. Only hotel points pretty much in the preview. It does show Oct 18-22 on the calendar, but no deals on those dates yet, so maybe they are still to be revealed. But I’m super bummed with the preview of deals at this point.

Nothing there to get excited about. I use to wait for them every year and get cheap hotel certificates but nothing recently.

I didn't end up going to Lake Louise. The current situation is pretty bleak there and I didn't want to take any chances. I will most likely take a hiking trip with Backroads in the Cdn Rockies next September and tack on 3 nights at Lake Louise.

However I had 3 Hilton FNCs that need to be used by the end of the year, 2 Hyatt FNCs (one expiring this year) and an itch to get back to traveling. So I decided to go to Chicago. I stayed 1 night at the Thompson (Hyatt). I am now just one Hyatt category away from a FNC for hitting 5 different Hyatt brands.

I will give a brief review of the Thompson since I was only there 1 night. I took the subway there from the airport (transferred from blue to red line and walked a few blocks); it was super easy and fast. I got to the hotel around 10:45am and they gave me keys to my upgraded room (from basic king room to king bed deluxe room with a view on a high floor), which was very much appreciated. The Thompson is located in the 'Gold Coast' neighborhood and there are several good restaurants just outside the doors of the hotel. I enjoyed the location as it felt very safe for a single female traveler.

The room was a good size and it was super quiet. Bed was very comfortable and I really liked the corner couch, which is where I ate dinner the one night I was there (which was leftovers from an AMAZING lunch at Sunda). There isn't a coffee maker in the room, but the front desk had housekeeping provide a carafe of hot water for my tea (they offer free coffee in the lobby from 7-11am). No slippers as the hotel is apparently out. Bathrobes were soft and fluffy. Bathroom had a shower only, which I prefer (unless there is a separate tub and shower -- I hate tub/shower combos and seek out hotels that do not have this setup). The staff that I encountered were extremely pleasant and an asset to the hotel. My upgraded room would have cost $270.00 / night, so I feel that I got great value from my Hyatt FNC. The only issue that would keep me from staying here again is the location -- for my next visit I would like to be closer to the river as I feel that it's more central. Otherwise I'd stay at the Thompson again and recommend it to others.

Since I don't have globalist with Hyatt I went to Wildberry for breakfast and wow! The pumpkin cinnamon pancakes were DELICIOUS. Seriously. I am glad that I didn't feel obliged to have breakfast at the hotel as I LOVED Wildberry (I went back again on Saturday morning). I also ate at the Original Pancake House one morning (which is directly across from the Thompson) and despite it's rather bleak interior, the pumpkin cinnamon pancakes were seriously scrumptious and service was excellent.

Airfare was with AC (of course!) using Aeroplan miles and eUpgrades (total cost 22k points and 6 eUpgrades)

The other pic of the room with the corner couch keeps posting upside down.

That happened to me too a few months ago, I don't know what's going on with PayPal. So I did the same thing as you and ever since, I delete all the cards except the one I want to be charged. It's annoying.
Mine keeps directing it to my OG Freedom or the Unlimited instead of the Flex. Only happens when I’m paying through an app and using PayPal.
Definitely a week lesson learned after a lengthy conversation with PayPal.

I had added my CIC has my preferred card and I thought great I am all set since it says for online purchases.

Not so quick. PayPal has a new feature that some apps are established as automatic payments. But if you update your preferred card in payments, it doesn’t automatically carry over to the automatic payments.

So when I was making purchases, it was going through the app.

What the PayPal rep couldn’t explain was why they were posting to my AmEx but then ended up actually posting to my checking account. It was just CRAZY! He told me to file a dispute that froze my app account. Just a mess!

Agreed! Pretty sad so far.

Question on the CSP offer reportedly ending soon. It has been 48 months since DW opened her CSP and I closed it last month. Do I need to wait anytime to reapply or ok to move forward since the last billing cycle has closed?

I am trying to find where to generate a support link for my P2 to apply for a CSP. In the past there was a box on the website after I have logged in. Now when I want to use it is is not there. Thank you.

Thanks - I'll be trying for this for DH soon. We're still in the process of building a house, so I haven't been applying for anything for awhile. I think I'm going to pull the trigger on one of the business cards before too long though. We are flying at the end of February, so I really want to have it going by then to be able to use it on those flights.

If I go the two business cards route, I just need to wait 30 days before applying for the second card, right?

Technically you don’t. You can actually now apply for Chase business cards on back to back days in a sort of modified double dip or even on the same day as a regular double dip and either way they’ll likely combine hard pulls then. As long as you’re applying for 2 different Chase business cards this should work.
