Well that makes me feel better. I specifically got the CIU because we could use it for tuition and get a bunch of extra UR in the process. His tuition bill should show up in July so we’ll see if it can be paid with the card.
Thanks! I called and they are expediting my United Quest. I also got a high CL. I’ll never understand how these cards work. Last time they denied me on a biz card for too much credit extended, now they give me a large CL.
I’m pretty sure loading GCs on serve stopped working at DG in January 2020…FD works but only $500 then there is some time frame…an hour 2 hrs who knows until another load works at the same store
. But will likely first hit Staples again, LOL. I have been thinking about you ALL DAY. Literally! The flight I booked for today was a college visit with my older DS, who woke up with a fever and raging sore throat. Fortunately he’s vaccinated, so no Covid concerns, but he was in no shape to travel today. I cancelled my AA flight, easy peasy. Went to rebook for next week, but my miles hadn’t been refunded. Turns out you HAVE TO CALL to get miles refunded - it doesn’t happen automatically. 9 hours on hold (never answered) and 2 times on chat (after 4 hours, got randomly disconnected, second time -another 4 hours), AA claims they’ve processed the refund and I’ll get my points back tomorrow. If not “just reach out again by phone or chat”. I swore it was karma for my response to you and not fully appreciating AA’s ineptitude!!!!
I used two of mine, June 6, which was a Sunday, the charge hit the 7th and the credit on the 8th. I will take that!! Glad they got it together.
For me at FD it depends if the cashier knows how to do the multiple swipes….where I am most don’t so I swipe my serve card 3 times..doing 200, 200, 100Greetings from my happy place where I am getting ready to go head to the beach for the day
When I booked this room (IHG) I booked a Monday-Friday so 3 nights, 4th free. When I checked in he’s like, oh you’re here till Saturday now, I guess the girl moved my 4 days over a day. I said, no, I’m checking out Friday. He’s like well make sure to call and get your points back for Monday night. I told him I won’t be able to. Now here‘s my dilemma. They have been AMAZING accommodating me. And switching things up for me. My flight Friday is 9pm. I could actually use having a hotel till later and wasn’t thinking about it. Do I ask him to extend back to Saturday? It’s no more points, plus I can’t get “Monday nights“ points back, since my 4th night was always free. I plan on going to the beach Friday until I leave for my flight.
I joke that I always come home covered in sand, LOL.
OMG! I’m sooooo sorry you had to deal w/ AA! I wouldn’t wish that “fun“ on my enemy….well maybe I would, LOL. Yeah, I kinda had my return open ended. I thought about coming back on Saturday vs Friday. The AA guy was like sure, just call back and we can change that. I said, and wait 12 hours again? He said, well let’s hope it’s not that long. I hope it works out for you.
There are A few family dollars. So I can do the full $200 card at a pop? Can I do $400 and use 2 cards? Or I guess $500 and use 3? I could actually possibly get some VCG moved through if that’s the case. I’ve been doing the $99 loads (most the time I can get them to do 2) at my WM so it’s taking forever to do $1k, I actually have $400 of VCG in my keep at home waiting to do, After the son took the last $400, I decided keeping them in my car hidden was safer, LOL.
This will give me something to do when I need a break from the sun, LOL.

Thanks for asking. He is currently at my vet’s office so I am waiting to see if she recommends him seeing an orthopedic surgeon or if the split is sufficient. It is so hard not being home with him.
Just this morning I hit two Family Dollars with my Visa gift cards. I ask to load a serve card, tell them $200 and after it goes through I say I'd like to do one more and I do another $200. Then I went to the other Family Dollar only 5 minutes away and did the same thing. $800 loaded today. Then I went to Staples and bought more gift cards.
At my FD it's like others have said, $500 limit for an unknown period of time. They load one card for me in one transaction for a total of $400 with 2 swipes. Then we do a second Serve card for $100. If we try to do $500 in one transaction it errors out, so this is the quickest way I've found to do it, and the cashiers know exactly what to do (I've had to help a couple of them). I do this at two different FD, so in one day I'm able to buy $1000 in VGC at Staples and unload all $1000 the same day. At my local Walmart I'm not able to get the VGC to go through at the money center or customer service, but I can load $200 at a time at the regular registers. I guess this is definitely YMMV, but for now I've been lucky at my Walmart.
