Well I decided to let the 10% giftcards lapse. I might have 0% on the Hilton Surpass (I was going to put them on), but I still have $400. I don't need to feel like I have all this "free money" in giftcards and buy stuff I really don't need.

I can’t answer your question, but this made me chuckle because I can’t even get my 14yr old DS to wear deodorant. 😂
Oh great, so it's not going to get any better for my 12yo? 12yo post hockey.....It must be the 23 years teaching mostly boys that has kept me from dying from his stench, LOL. My 16yo bought her brother all kinds of bodywash and sprays in hopes he won't smell, LOL.

I swear hockey stench is the worst of all of them too.

Unfortunately you can’t…does he have any Chase business cards that the CL could be moved from ?

Unfortunately, not. I currently have all the biz cards but all for different businesses (different EINs), so I'm not sure those can be shifted around either. I have a fraud alert on my credit reports because someone applied for unemployment using my credentials. So, I am loathe to open any more amounts, even biz cards because they always seem to have to verify my ID by the fraud dept (which is a good thing) but I never get automatic approvals (which sucks).

So, anyway, have never tried to apply as a sole proprietor, so nervous about it.

I have a question about Hyatt stays booked on points. I have an upcoming stay where the cancelation policy states "Two Night Deposit at Booking.for Refund Cancel 7 Days Prior To Arrival" (this is copied and pasted). No two-night deposit was ever taken (I booked this last year), so that makes me wonder about the validity of the rest of the statement. Will it really be a full refund if canceled 7 days prior to arrival? Any chance of a full refund less than 7 days prior to arrival? The resort has been sold out for months. Is Twitter Hyatt Concierge the best way to find out?

Ha! My DH harps on him enough that he at least puts deodorant on before school now. Other than that, big sigh…

hmm.., your denial letter should appear in your documents soon. I'm curious to know what it says. Maybe you accidentally typed your social wrong?
I think that I made a typo on my SSN. Can I call recon and ask them to input the correct number? The application isn't linked to my account -- I applied from a link that Aeroplan sent to my e-mail and it didn't connect to my Chase account (probably because the SSNs don't match).

My understanding is if you canceled less than 7 days, they would charge you 2 nights of the cash rate. 😱 But you would get the points refunded. If you had to do this for an emergency, hopefully you'd be able to plead your case with the hotel.

You should get the points refunded if more than 7 days before.

ETA: A couple threads I came across about this before:

I wonder what happened with the guy who was charged $10k for Calala. 😱

I apply as a sole proprietor with my eBay side business….so far no issues with verification

I would call. Did you get a credit pull?

completely off topic. Does anyone have a Mickey Mouse slow cooker? My 31 year old crock pot finally bit it tonight. I am looking at the Mickey one on Amazon but lot's of the reviews say it takes too long to cook things. I had a newer one, not Mickey several years ago that I chucked when the lid broke, because it didn't cook as good as my old dinosaur.

Is anyone in this group familiar with transferring Capital One points to one of their loyalty programs? Air France is one of the 15 airlines and I’m trying to book a one way flight from Paris to Houston in September nonstop on points. I’ve only used UR points to transfer to United so far and I know once transferred, I can’t transfer UR points back. Points transfer 1:1. I’ve been sitting on over 350,000 Cap One points for almost 2 years (earned from a Biz card in 2020). Only recently redeemed 21,000 points to wipe out a $210 last minute RT flight for my son from Orlando to Houston on United. That was super easy! Also, are you able to see how many miles are needed on Air France without actually having any points?
