Attack of the Lakeshore Lodge

Been a long time since we stayed BLT TPV, so my memory of it may be off. Space Mountain is absolutely a major part. I didn’t recall much of a castle view, but we didn’t have a high floor.

Ironically, we have booked Standard (Resort) View and had very good views of Space Mountain and fireworks. This experience is why we stopped booking TPV there.

Personally, like the Preferred/Lake view at BLT. It’s also why we like the RIV Preferred View. Love watching lake activity without watching cars/trucks/buses.

For me, LSL having a beautiful lake view and having good activities (lazy river) is why LSL is intriguing. As someone who loves WDW history, Polynesian, CR, and CFW are the originals. We own two. Will not buy CFW (dues), but maybe LSL? (Much depends on what the finished product, point charts, dues, etc)
Was just there a week and a half ago. This shot is from the bridge between BLT and The Contemporary, but I imagine rooms facing MK can see the castle just as well.

From what I recall, the angle for some of the rooms brings the trees to the right of the monorail into blocking some rooms castle view.

Is it ridiculous that a lazy river makes this resort enticing to me even though I'm a 44 year old woman and not a child? 🤣

I'm a 49 year old man and feel the same way!

No I really only like the lazy river at Aulani pools.

I'm a fan too, but those infinity edge hot tubs... man, that was awesome, especially at sunset!!!

Post Covid we got into BCV a few times and absolutely loved the Stormalong Bay's lazy river. Could spend all day in it.

Big fan of BCV too, but Stormalong Bay's lazy river is not exactly a long ride... especially compared to Aulani's lazy river. I'm hoping LSL is even more impressive than Stormalong Bay!!

I'm in my 50s and LOVE the lazy river at Aulani and spend hours there. I think they have a float with my name on it. This is why LSL is high on my list.

All this above 💯 Love Stormalong bay, and was just at Aulani two weeks ago for our wedding anniversary (1bdrm villa ocean view was great - pic below) and going back in March to try out their Grand Villa with my whole brood. Love the lazy river there too, but the water was surprisingly cold! Hoping the temps are warmer in March.

Note: this is why I consider PVB Island Tower TPV (most rooms but not all) worth the higher points. It is truly lake view, TPV, electric water pageant, fireworks, etc view.

Yes!

I am holding on to the theory that I will be able to easily find 1bdrm villas (or bigger) at LSL at 7 months and do not need to own there directly as a result. Anyone have a different view on that theory at this point - which is still early? Not sure we have enough information to say one way or the other, but a boy can dream.

The first year might be problematic, but I don’t see a world where 1BRs are hard to book. Even at difficult to book resorts those are available most of the time right at 7 months.

I wonder if LSL will qualify as a difficult to book resort as time goes on:

- It's not a monorail resort
- It's not walkable to any park (e.g. crescent lake resorts)
- No super convenient on demand transportation to a theme park (e.g. Riviera and the Gondola system to Epcot).
- There probably will not be a good theme park view from any room.

The appeal of LSL will have to be something else - is an awesome lazy river is actually enough? Would everyone equally love BCV/Stormalong Bay if it was not walkable to Epcot?

I have to wonder if it will be easier to stay at LSL for all room types after the "new" factor wears off.
