Chase has been sending me lots of discount offers for Disney recently. I've successfully stacked gift card only purchases with Rakuten over the past few months. Rakuten is 15% back on Disney today. YMMV because some people have reported that Rakuten did not work on gift card only purchases.

I can never get gift cards to track with cash back websites. What I do is wait until top cash back is running a special “spend 50 and get 5$ bonus this weekend” - I don’t get cash back for the gift card purchase but I get the bonus offer.

BJ's is 6% off. I'm not sure about a one day membership but you can get an annual online membership for $10. If you have a card that will allow you to create a virtual card number I would use that and set an expiration so it can't continue to be used. I've never been able to change my card number and I've tried to cancel with BJ's multiple times and I still get charged.

To answer my own question, yes, the free one day membership allows you to purchase at 6% off. I did do the virtual card for the order itself, but I didn't have to put in my card info for the membership itself.

I've got to figure out how to block my kids from Amazon, LOL. My kids both have delivery alerts from Amazon set to their phones. It looks like I can give them both teen accounts and then change my password to lock them out. Either that or my BF is going to order their stuff (but I want the points, LOL).

I have absolutely no clue what to get anyone this year! My BF won't tell me anything he wants. My children have the world, so it's always a struggle w/ them too! Maybe all the trips I need to get off my butt and start planning!

Looks like i just managed to finally earn my $15k FNC w/ my surpass. Now time to work on the $8k FNC. I wish they had a tracker for that too! Grrrr.

For those having luck on PS5 and Xobx, any tips? The BF is looking to grab one for himself.

My oldest DD's Amazon account is one of the teen accounts I think, we have to approve everything she wants to purchase so we at least know what's coming and when. Seems to be working fine and we can keep the account loaded with gift cards.

I feel like I need to step away from the computer, LOL. Though I feel like I'm getting some decent deals today. Yesterday I got Bath and Body Works stuff. Today I got my DD philosophy goodies. I got my son a ton of clothes from Old Navy and Gap. Poor kid, I restock his clothes and double up as Christmas presents, LOL. Got my mom the air fryer she wanted. No clue what else I need to buy for the kids. And then there's the BF too. UGH.

If you saw how many socks I own, you would understand why I don't buy more socks, except for the xmas pair I got last week. I don't need more xmas, I think I have enough for Dec 1-25. Then there's other holidays, and my everyday fun socks, my in case I need to wear socks with slacks not that I have the shoes for that, my how socks for summer and sleeping, my running socks and my fuzzy warm, not to wear with shoes socks. And my socklettes as I call them for wearing with flats.

But I'm also for everyone having fun with socks, obviously

I'm starting the hunt for a new bag, but would rather buy in person, so this just keeps me from buying online since it'd be a pain to return. I looked at the marc jacobs outlet and all it did was tell me which one's won't work because the straps not long enough. They were shoulder bags but a shorter strap than my large hobo has so the bag hit my arm higher than my current and I didn't like it. Really, I like my bag but it's almost 4 years old, not that there's much wear on it, but the shoulder strap has always been too wide and it just drives me bonkers when I'm trying to do self checkout at the grocery store. Which if I would just toss my wallet and keys into one of my cross body bags for the trip I'd solve my issue but that's so practical I think I just need to wait for what's out now to change and for stock to get caught up so nordstrom rack has a better selection and more than just black and brown.

ETA I also used my plat credit back in july, so if I could have gotten the gc and combined it with my plat credit starting in Jan I'd have been all over it. Or if I hadn't used my credit.

It really is a good deal! I ended up getting my subtotal to $150.80, which included a top I had ordered from Saks just a few days ago. I'll be returning that first order, and will use the $75 from this one toward another top that I have my eye on. I just need to put those dates on the calendar so I don't forget!

Dell is so strange. DH ordered a laptop tonight (Rakuten has 15% cash back), and an hour later found a separate laptop on the Dell website that was identical to the first, but $50 less. All the specs were the same, same model, same color, it was identical (except the first one was called a Black Friday Special). So he canceled the first order, and placed a second order with the cheaper identical laptop. For a computer company, it has a really lame website.

Hi! I'm seeking advice/critiques on the following "game plan" to get a good CC-portfolio LOL..

07/19 BoA rewards card (it started as secured card for one year)
05/20 Chase disney preferred (i'm authorized user only)

I just relocated to the US with the company I work with.. which means I just got SSN.. but have a stable job and decent income

I am an avid world traveler, also DVC member - I go to WDW 4-6 times per year, I buy almost everything on Amazon, I do a lot of dining out...

I'm based in Dallas but travel frequently from Houston .. therefore AA and United will be likely the most frequent airlines...

Here my thoughts...
- Request an "upgrade" in BoA to a cash back groceries/ gas oriented
- Open the red debit card at target for the giftcard discount
- Open an Amazon visa card (I have prime membership)
- Two or three months later request the Chase Saphire (hopefully the reserved)
- Cancel the Chase disney visa (or keep it for dvc dues, annual pass? But downgrade to the one without annual fee)

Thoughts pls?

I've always done some restocking of clothes/doubling as gifts with my kids. It gives them more gifts to open and extends the experience, even if they aren't too excited about those gifts.

I'm not sure how your credit starts out with a new SSN but it looks like you have a start with the BOA and AU card.
If the Disney VIsa is just an AU card, you won't be able to downgrade it. It does count towards your 5/24 with Chase.

No harm in opening the Red card debit if that's something you'll use. I hardly use mine anymore since I have some Ink business cards. I'd rather buy them at 5x points or when there are other 10-15% off finds.

I might suggest starting with a Chase Freedom Flex. Freedom seems to be something that our kids (college) and people who need to establish credit have success getting approved for. That would give you 3x UR on dining out and the rotating categories. After a few months, you might be able to get the CSP or CSR. In my mind, those are more valuable than the Amazon card.

Have you looked at SW? They fly to MCO from Houston and Love Field as well. A lot of us choose SW over AA and United for our domestic travel. SW has the CP and offers great flexibility for changing and cancelling flights.
