Hi! Looking for my next card. My goal is earning points for overseas travel.
My most recent cards are the following:
04/2018 Chase SW business (will be cancelling this card in May. Plan to get SW cards again at the end of this year to continue my CP)
07/2019 CSP
10/2019 CF
01/2020 Cap One Spark Business
01/2021 CIP Business. Should meet the $15,000 spend by middle of March.

Some of my older cards:
07/16 Costco Citi Visa
07/06 Am Ex Cash (recently downgraded to Cash from Cash preferred) - rarely use
2015 Am Ex Delta - never use

How soon can I apply for another biz card? We have a biz where I can meet at least $5000-$8000 per month spend.
Any recommendations on another card? I planned to get the United Explorer in early January when the bonus was 70,000 points but applied for the CIP biz card instead, and now the bonus is only 40,000 points so I'm holding off on that one for now.

I just applied to refi my mortgage on a whim. I refied last year but rates have gone down.
When did you refinance and how much are rates down? Just curious. I refinanced in August at 2.5% on a 15-year fixed. Doubt it would make sense for me unless I wanted to take cash out or something like that.

They are pulling this info directly from a credit report. I would advise you to pull a copy of that specific report (which you should be entitled to due to the decline) and compare to determine where the discrepancy is. Chase does not report business cards to personal credit bureaus so I'm somewhat suspect that it is a CIP. You should be able to continue to recon this application in the future if you're able to figure out what's going on there.

EDIT: All of this assumes that you were specifically declined due to 5/24 and not just due to too many recent accounts which would be a different reason - have you gotten a copy of your decline letter - that would probably be a good first step as what they told you on the phone might not even be the real reason.

I just checked my Chase account and saw the letter, which states the reason is "Too many credit cards opened in the last two years associated with you." That sounds like 5/24 denial, or maybe not?

So it sounds like my next step should be to call Transunion and request a copy of my report. Off to make a phone call!

Thank you!

I think we have diagnosed that it is a 5/24 denial. Hopefully the Transunion report can shed some light somehow!

I just applied for a refi loan myself. Cash out, 2.0% 10 yr, will hold the cash for DD's college in the next few years. I had 6 years left on the previous 15 yr, but will still be done before the original 30 yr mortgage term on our house.

I locked in a 2.5% on a 30 year fixed today. No points. If you take cash out, it will be a higher rate.

I have the Baker’s Cay Key Largo booked for March but it was only 168k points with 5th night free. So it seems like a waste to use the FNC.

We are staying there Feb 26-28. I'm excited. I had picked it out to stay there, but didn't have enough points. While waiting to get my points, the 42,000 points/night rooms filled up, so I had to get rooms at the other Hilton in Key Largo. I kept checking every day (ok, multiple times a day) and they showed back up, so I quickly switched. We're excited! It looks like a great resort!

We am here now! 😍❤️ We used AmEx points, booked 4 nights and the 5th free. Had Southwest booked on points, but canceled. They changed our flight 3 times last weekend. 😭😩😳

Glad you got them. I guess I will keep waiting and see if mine end up posting. I made my purchase on 1/29.
FWIW I purchased MF on 1/29 also and the points are not showing yet on Chase, only the store visit with the purchase. It's also not showing yet in the savings tab on amex. I did get both emails though, so hoping both actually post.

Same with me, except the store visit isn't showing on Chase (yet I got the e-mail from Chase).

I have been using MF and think I might keep it past next year. I find it quite useful.

Dd came home from res for a little while; she's not enjoying the dynamic this semester since we are in a lockdown (meaning all res meals are pre-made and there is very little selection for her as a vegetarian).

I was talking with her and she definitely wants to cancel our trip to London, the Maldives, Singapore and Dubai. I can put my hopes of ever staying at the WA Maldives aside as they seldom release 5 consecutive nights, let alone the 8 that we have booked. Also it will cost me $55.00 per person with BA to cancel our flights and I have 3 segments booked with them, so $110.00 x 3. Boo. This trip is going to hurt to cancel, even though I know it's the right thing to do (there is zero chance either of us will be vaccinated by May and dd has severe asthma, so there is no point in taking any risks; I have toyed with the idea of just going to the Maldives and coming home, but I keep coming back to the 'what ifs' and I just don't think that I can do it).

One other thing that is really going to hurt is the fact that I might lose my Hilton FNCs. There is nowhere worthwhile using them anywhere near our house here and I doubt that they will extend them past December, 2021. I could potentially visit the Grand Wailea (solo) in early to mid-November (if I am lucky enough to be vaccinated by then), but that trip would be solely to use the certs and the $250.00 resort credit (if I keep the Aspire). Decisions, decisions.
