If I'm going to book a hotel and pay cash, is there any benefit to booking through the Chase portal? I am looking at 2 different hotels. One is about $5 less than booking directly, the other is the same. But I could potentially go through another third party and earn cash back.

Editing to say I have the CSP which gets 2x points on travel, but I would assume I would get the 2x points booking through somewhere like priceline where I could also earn cash back from another site.
Thanks in advance!

Aimlessly looking through Amazon and I saw an offer of "Pay $0 if you add a debit card to your wallet" where the price of the item was crossed off and replaced with the $0. It was $6. I found the offer again in a $13 item - both of them were flavored seltzer waters. Has anyone seen this offer or has an idea of what the maximum value is? I don't see it in the terms. I don't mind adding my debit card but I'd like to get the maximum from it.

DoC just tweeted about this.

The main advantage of the portal is to book with points at 1.25 with CSP/CIP, 1.5 with CSR. If you have the Freedom Flex or the Unlimited, you can get 5x paying cash through the portal. Otherwise, there's no benefit. You'd get 2x on CSP for anything that codes travel.

Thanks! I wanted to make sure I wasn't overlooking something. I do have the CFU, but using my CSP I get 2x points, plus I use Swagbucks for cashback which is at 3% for priceline, plus a $5 bonus CB. So I think I'll get a teensy bit more cash back that way. I had forgotten about the 5x with CFU. Will definitely need to keep that in mind!

On second thought.... as close as they are, I might as well book through the portal with CFU. I have a feeling Chase is more reliable for issuing points than Swagbucks is issuing CB. Plus they can take up to 90 days to credit. Not really worth the gamble over a couple of bucks.

I am pretty sure the only thing on DS’s list is a Pug. He is going to get a new laptop but that’s more for school but will be under the tree. We’re debating between the Surface, MAC Air andMaC Pro.
DS has a chromebook which is what our schools use. He has a school provided one plus a personal one. And he got a puppy January 2019, so I'm covered.9383662B-88AB-48E0-A198-72298D9F4B3D.jpeg

If I want to obtain more Disney Gift Cards prior to our trip, and I'm not aware of any offers on my cards like that 10% off at Staples on the BBP (that I already used), is it just best to use the CIC at an office supply store for them since that's a bonus category?

Oh, my gosh. So stinking cute! For some reason, I thought your son was a little bit older than he looks in that picture. He’s the one who makes those amazing looking cakes, right? He’s adorable. (As is the puppy.):lovestruc

That’s what I have done....if you belong to Sams club or BJs they also discount Disney gift cards

And, I got myself locked out again!

Babysitting the grands yesterday at their house which I have a key to. But, didn't have the key on me. My yard includes 4 various cars that my name is attached to so I don't match car keys with house keys.

Anyway, we went outside for some play time and the girls were riding their various ride on things - balance bike, tricycle and some 4 wheeled thing that I don't know what to call it. Having a great time! Youngest runs back inside to get a stuffed animal to give it a ride. I'm at the end of the driveway. She returned quickly and continued playing.

Then, time to go in. The door is locked. The deadbolt wasn't fastened but she must have turned the thing in the door knob. Obviously wasn't me as she would not have been able to get in.

This house has 4 exterior doors and quite a few reachable windows. I tried all the windows and then 3 of the doors and gave up. The last door was the slider and it was blocked by materials that must be some project son in law is about to start.

I did have my car key in my pocket, but that was it. Sat in the car with the kids for awhile after tiring of the patio, deck, and carport areas. They are little so easily bored. Was able to play the radio in the car. Couldn't go nowhere as the car didn't have car seats and I had no money or phone.

Eventually I went back to the slider and moved some stuff and the door was not locked. In we went!! This house may get a keypad for Xmas. My house might also. Had never really given one any thought before.
We love our keypad and convinced my parents to get one too. I have locked myself on the porch and just walked around to the back to let myself back in. I think my husband is happy because I don't have to wake him up if I forget my keys in the morning...not that I leave the house in the morning at the moment.

He's 11 1/2 now, but was 9 3/4 😉 there. He does love to bake! Thanks for the kind words (although I can take no credit for the cuteness of the kid or the puppy)

She's a Heinz 57, but if I was guessing I'd include pit bull and basenji. He named her Dele after an English soccer player. Of course.

Haha......how appropriate - I reckon Dele (the soccer player) could well have a little bit of pit bull and maybe terrier in him. Of course he can also be a bit moody like my teenage daughter, so hopefully your Dele doesn't follow that trait. :p

Successful MDD on the books for me this morning! @becauseimnew - I was remiss in not also thanking you yesterday. Looked for your support link this morning but I guess there isn't one for CSR? I will remember to look in on you on the next round in the spring, if I can. @palhockeymomof2 That's some good juju you're sprinkling.;-). @Hoosier John - feels good! Have a great day, all!
